Cardinals | Jaron Brown progressing nicely

Wed, 24 May 2017 21:53:36 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Jaron Brown (knee) participated in a portion of OTAs on Tuesday, May 23, and Wednesday, May 24, taking part in individual drills while sitting out team activities. Brown suffered a season-ending torn ACL last October. "We're keeping him out of the team drills because I don't want to see him cut, but he's running routes full speed. He looks great. Actually, his computer numbers are faster than they've ever been," head coach Bruce Arians said.

Fantasy Tip: With Larry Fitzgerald nearing the end, the 179-pound John Brown a bit on the small side and the 160-pound J.J. Nelson definitely on the small side, the Cardinals could use someone like the 6-2, 205-pound Jaron Brown to step up and fill the void left behind by Michael Floyd. He has yet to 22 catches in his first four seasons, however, so expectations should be tempered. He can be avoided in fantasy drafts this summer.

Cardinals | Jaron Brown making progress

Tue, 14 Mar 2017 19:48:00 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Jaron Brown (knee) said he's "starting to see some gains" four months removed from surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Brown tore his ACL during Seattle's Week 6 affair this past year, but before that, he was showing signs of becoming a regular part of Arizona's offense. Even so, no matter what his health is going into next season, he shouldn't be on the radar for fantasy drafts. The four-year veteran has never produced a campaign in which he recorded more than 22 receptions.

Cardinals | Jaron Brown heading to IR

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 12:43:09 -0700

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals WR Jaron Brown (knee) will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 24, with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Fantasy Tip: Brown wasn't much more than just a deep threat when Arizona's top three receivers were healthy. The loss of Brown could mean more looks for J.J. Nelson and Brittan Golden. Nelson is primarily a deep threat, too. Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Michael Floyd will continue to see most of the targets, though, so don't trip over your leaguemates on your way to claim either Nelson or Golden.

Cardinals | Jaron Brown reportedly tears ACL

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 09:45:38 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Jaron Brown (knee) is awaiting further tests, but initial reports suggest he suffered a torn ACL in a Week 7 tie against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Although primarily a fourth receiver and special teamer, Brown's loss is a difficult blow for an Arizona offense. Not only was Brown logging snaps at the expense of Michael Floyd, but he was also filling in for John Brown, who missed Week 7 due to leg pain caused by his sickle-cell trait. Brittan Golden saw more time after the injury Sunday, but he is only a low-upside, deep-league add at the moment in an offense that is leaning more and more on the running game this year.

Cardinals | Jaron Brown misses practice

Wed, 19 Oct 2016 17:40:40 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Jaron Brown (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Brown was considered day-to-day at this point and could be a game-time decision for Week 7. He has been targeted at least five times in three of the last four games but has recorded more than 50 yards in only one game this season. Owners in all leagues likely will be able to find better options to use.

Cardinals | Jaron Brown day-to-day

Tue, 18 Oct 2016 13:15:53 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Jaron Brown (knee) is considered day-to-day. He may wear a brace if he plays in Week 7, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: Not only could Brown play with a knee brace, but he'll face one of the toughest pass defenses in the league in the Seattle Seahawks. While Brown has been more involved this season, he's better off on the bench for Week 7. He's still behind Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Michael Floyd.
