Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen posted six receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers. He was targeted a game-high 13 times.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen and Case Keenum have jelled nicely and the wideout has emerged as a legitimate must-start fantasy option on a weekly basis. In fact, he is a solid WR2 in all PPR formats and a nice WR3 or flex play in most standard leagues. The Vikings host the Bengals in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen had a bit of a disappointing performance since he had at least 89 yards in each of the previous four games, but he did catch four of his five targets. He will continue to be a focal point in the passing game and should be a starting option against most opponents.

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 15:42:40 -0800

Vikings | Adam Thielen has a big afternoon

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 17:51:49 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen posted eight receptions for a season-high 166 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets in Week 10 against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: Many forget, but Thielen had 202 yards with two touchdowns last Christmas Eve in Green Bay, so he has had plenty of huge stat lines before. His previous best this season was 157 yards in the open against New Orleans. Still, he remains more of a WR2 in PPR leagues, and a borderline WR2/WR3 in standard play.

Vikings | Adam Thielen ranks high in major categories

Wed, 01 Nov 2017 20:03:14 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen is second in the NFL in receiving yards (627) and fourth in targets (75) through the first eight weeks of the 2017 season.

Fantasy Tip: It sure may not seem like it, as Thielen has just one touchdown on the campaign -- and that only came overseas last week -- which is holding him back below other receivers in terms of fantasy points accumulated. Nonetheless, owners have to be pleased with their pick of Thielen, who has completely exceeded expectations when he was drafted as a WR3. Just keep plugging him in there and hopefully he's able to pad his touchdown total in the second half.

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught five passes for 98 yards and one touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen was targeted at least 10 times for the third straight game and posted his first touchdown on the season this week. He has been a solid receiver for the Vikings this season and should be a No. 3 fantasy receiver against most opponents.

Vikings | Adam Thielen delivering big plays

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 20:44:52 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen ranks fourth in the NFL with 529 receiving yards through Week 7, and his nine catches of 20-plus yards rank second in the league.

Fantasy Tip: He has seen 25 targets over the past two weeks, and even if Stefon Diggs returns, Thielen's penchant for big plays and a matchup with the Cleveland Browns make him a borderline WR2 in Week 8.

Vikings | Adam Thielen quiet vs. Baltimore

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 14:06:13 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught five passes for 41 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen has been targeted 25 times over the last two weeks and has served as the No. 1 receiver with Stefon Diggs sidelined. He still has not caught a touchdown pass this season but can be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in all leagues next week.

Vikings | Adam Thielen leads way in Week 6

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 16:20:45 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen racked up nine receptions for 97 yards on 13 targets in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen had an impressive game all around with Stefon Diggs inactive and Michael Floyd checking out early due to injury. He is more attractive in PPR leagues, but if Diggs remains sidelined Thielen isn't a bad start across the board heading into Week 7 against the Ravens.

Vikings | Adam Thielen held in check Monday

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 23:06:37 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen finished with five catches on eight targets for 34 yards Monday, Oct. 9, versus the Chicago Bears. He also had one rush for 11 yards.

Fantasy Tip: In terms of receptions, Thielen has been as steady as they get, having registered five catches in his last four games since his monster Week 1 effort. Unfortunately, though, he hasn't found the end zone yet, which has to be frustrating for his owners given that he's sixth in the NFL in receiving yards. Thielen should find pay dirt sooner than later, though, as he continues to be a focal point in the passing game based on targets. He's been targeted eight or more times in four of five games.

Vikings | Adam Thielen hauls in five balls

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 15:09:50 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen racked up five receptions for 59 yards on a game-high eight targets in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen has posted at least five receptions in each of his four games, which is the good news for PPR fantasy owners. The bad news, he is still looking for his first touchdown of the 2017 season. The Vikings travel to meet the Bears on Monday Night Football in Week 5.

Vikings | Adam Thielen second in yards

Wed, 27 Sep 2017 07:52:44 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen is second in the league with 299 receiving yards through three games.

Fantasy Tip: He has done this with Case Keenum under center for two of those games with Sam Bradford (knee) on the mend. Thielen had a 69-967-5 breakout last season, and he's poised to surpass it. He faces the Detroit Lions in Week 4, and they're a midrange defense against the position. Thielen is a low-end WR2 for now.

Vikings | Adam Thielen nearly reaches 100 yards

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 14:04:14 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught five passes for 98 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen has caught at least five passes in each of the first three games and is averaging almost 100 yards per game. He will continue to be a big factor in the team's passing game and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver for fantasy owners.

Vikings | Adam Thielen catches five passes

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 14:48:18 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught five passes for 44 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen's value took a hit with Case Keenum starting this week but still had a decent outing for owners in point-per-reception leagues. Thielen can be considered at least a flex option for owners next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Vikings | Adam Thielen blows up for 157 yards on MNF

Mon, 11 Sep 2017 21:34:21 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen was very productive in the team's season opener Monday, Sept. 11, opposite the New Orleans Saints, as he recorded nine catches on a team-high 10 targets for 157 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It was the fourth-career 100-plus-yard effort for Thielen, who figures to notch more such efforts in the weeks and months ahead. Along with Stefon Diggs, the fourth-year wideout basically did as he pleased against a porous Saints defense. Bradford heavily relied on both men last year and it looks like that won't change at all in 2017. As a result, Thielen just may develop into a legitimate WR2 by year's end.

Vikings | Five catches for Adam Thielen

Sun, 27 Aug 2017 20:07:15 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen finished with five catches for 50 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in the preseason Sunday, Aug. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen developed a nice chemistry with Sam Bradford last year, so it's no surprise that he was a popular target. He is a high-end WR4 with WR3 potential against the right matchups.

Vikings | Adam Thielen being used in slot

Thu, 24 Aug 2017 12:21:37 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen has been playing in the slot in three-receiver formations in an effort to further utilize his versatility. QB Sam Bradford said it has also helped develop better chemistry with different defensive looks.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen enters the 2017 season as somewhat of an unsung hero after breaking out for 69 catches, 967 yards and five touchdowns last year. Stefon Diggs and Kyle Rudolph take a lot of that attention away from Thielen, but Thielen deserves WR3 merit nonetheless.

Fri, 28 Jul 2017 19:21:50 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (undisclosed) practiced Friday, July 28, after leaving Thursday's practice with an undisclosed injury.

Vikings | Adam Thielen not content with breakout year

Mon, 29 May 2017 20:40:06 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen said he is dedicated in proving his breakout performance this past season wasn't a fluke. "I'm waiting until I'm done playing to reflect," Thielen said at the club's organized team activities last week. "I've got too much to work on, too many big goals, to reflect on anything. I'm just going to come out here every day and try to get better and bring the same mindset I've brought since I got to the league."

Fantasy Tip: Thielen had only 20 catches combined in his first two seasons prior to recording 69 receptions for 967 yards and five touchdowns during the 2016 campaign, so this is certainly encouraging to hear that he won't be content with that. He's a fine bet to keep it going through next year as one of Sam Bradford's most trusted targets, especially if Stefon Diggs is hampered by injury issues again.

Updating previous reports, Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen signed a four-year deal worth $19.246 million with $6.746 million in the first year.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen had a 69-967-5 year in 2016 as he emerged onto the fantasy radar. There will be some questions regarding whether he can build on it, but he's in the WR4 mix in fantasy.

Vikings | Adam Thielen may get second-round tender

Sat, 04 Mar 2017 11:20:43 -0800

Minnesota Vikings restricted free-agent WR Adam Thielen likely will receive the second-round tender offer this offseason, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen likely will be back with the Vikings next season, but a team could show some interest in him if they are willing to give up a pick. He finished the 2016 season with 967 yards and five touchdowns and likely will have a big role in the passing game in 2017. Thielen can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent WR Adam Thielen said there is "something special" about playing for one franchise, and he hopes to stay with Minnesota if he receives an offer in his "ballpark."

Fantasy Tip: Thielen developed great chemistry with Sam Bradford and emerged as Minnesota's steadiest receiver. If he is a Viking in 2017, he should be a quality WR3.

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen led all receivers by catching 70.4 percent of his targets that traveled 15 yards or more down the field this season.

Vikings | Adam Thielen could reach milestone

Mon, 26 Dec 2016 17:14:25 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen only needs 40 yards in Week 17 to reach the 1,000-yard milestone on the season.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen's previous career high in yards was 144 last year. He has turned into a solid weapon for the Vikings, especially with Adrian Peterson sitting most of the year. He's in the running for Minnesota's No. 2 wide receiver position next season behind Stefon Diggs.

Vikings | Adam Thielen has 200-yard game

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 15:18:43 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen set career highs with 12 catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 16 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Although Thielen has been an important part of the offense since early October, this is a stunning performance from a player who was shut out last week after taking a brutal hit early in the second half. The former undrafted free agent was getting open at will in this contest and he needs only 40 yards at home against the Chicago Bears in Week 17 to go over 1,000. He's obviously a must-start.

Vikings | Adam Thielen expects to play Week 16

Tue, 20 Dec 2016 10:46:20 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (neck) told reporters he feels "fine" and anticipates playing on Christmas Eve in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen had been on quite a roll in terms of churning out solid PPR performances before getting blanked in Week 15 after leaving early in the third quarter after getting drilled by Indianapolis Colts cornerback Darius Butler. Assuming no setbacks between now and Saturday, Thielen makes for a reasonable low-end WR3/flex play against the Packers' vulnerable secondary.

Vikings | Adam Thielen disappears in loss

Sun, 18 Dec 2016 18:23:03 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen did not have any receptions and he was targeted just once in the Week 15 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen had a 100-yard game last week, and 187 receiving yards over the past two outings, so this was a giant disappointment for anyone using him as a WR3 or WR4, especially in the fantasy playoffs.

Vikings | Adam Thielen leaves game

Sun, 18 Dec 2016 12:19:51 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (neck) suffered a neck injury in Week 15 and will not return.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to look for an update in Thielen's status after the game to see if he will miss more time. Thielen has been a solid member of the passing game over the last few weeks and would be at least a flex option if he plays in Week 16.

Sun, 11 Dec 2016 22:35:21 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (shoulder) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 30, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen has posted at least 50 yards in five of his last seven games and as two touchdowns in his last three games. He should see a decent amount of targets against the Dallas Cowboys and could be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Vikings | Adam Thielen fully practices

Tue, 29 Nov 2016 12:05:11 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (shoulder) participated fully in practice Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen's fantasy value decreases this week with the likely return of Stefon Diggs. That doesn't necessarily mean he should be benched, though. He has found the endzone twice in his last three games and at least deserves consideration as a flex start.

Thu, 24 Nov 2016 13:45:45 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught eight passes for 53 yards with WR Stefon Diggs sidelined Thursday, Nov. 24.

Fantasy Tip: The eight catches were nice, but no one on the Vikings did much in the receiving game because Sam Bradford's average depth of target was extremely limited. Expect Thielen's catches to decrease when Diggs returns.

Vikings | Adam Thielen leads receivers

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 14:27:45 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught all five of his targeted passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in a 30-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: With Stefon Diggs targeted heavily by Arizona (seven targets, six catches for 37 yards), Minnesota had to have someone else carry the load, and Thielen fit the bill. Thielen is not a regular receiver in your lineups, but he is someone who can carry a game if someone is out of your lineup via injury or bye.

Sun, 09 Oct 2016 16:01:53 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen posted seven receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans. He was targeted eight times.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen was a tremendous fill-in for the injured Stefon Diggs, who is nursing a groin injury. While Diggs is expected to return after the team's bye, Thielen could have earned himself a bigger role in the offense even when Diggs can return in Week 7.

Vikings | Adam Thielen lines up with starters

Mon, 05 Sep 2016 20:24:35 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen worked with the first-team offense opposite WR Stefon Diggs Monday, Sept. 5, although head coach Mike Zimmer said not to look too much into it. WR Charles Johnson was resting with an undisclosed injury.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen is a special teams contributor and that's where a majority of his production will be. As a receiver he isn't a great option and his touches will be limited unless injuries decimate the receivers corps in Minny.

Vikings | Role for Jarius Wright unclear

Mon, 05 Sep 2016 20:20:59 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Jarius Wright is the most experienced receiver in just about every category, but questions remain about his role after the preseason. With WRs Adam Thielen and Cordarrelle Patterson useful on special teams, and WRs Stefon Diggs, Charles Johnson and Laquon Treadwell expected to contribute on offense, Wright's place is uncertain although he did make the 53-man roster.

Fantasy Tip: Wright likely needs a long-term injury to one of the top offensive weapons, or a possible trade, before he re-emerges as a fantasy option. Right now it appears he is the No. 6 receiver in Minnesota and likely to be a healthy inactive most weeks.
