Yankees | Yanks land two big prospects |
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 09:36:52 -0700
The New York Yankees traded RP Aroldis Chapman to the Chicago Cubs Monday, July 25, in exchange for SS Gleyber Torres, OF Billy McKinney and SP Adam Warren. Torres was the centerpiece of the deal and was hitting .275 with nine home runs in 94 games with Class A Myrtle Beach.
Fantasy Tip: Torres, although young at 19, was the Cubs' top prospect not in the majors. He could hit somewhere between 15 to 20 homers at the major league level and also has great speed. He also has impressive hands on defense and could easily be a future All-Star. McKinney has good offensive potential, as well, but was hitting just .252 with a homer and 31 RBI at Class AA Tennessee. He makes consistent contact and has a good understanding of the zone, giving him the ability to hit for a high average. Warren had been a swing man for Chicago and could find his way into New York's rotation if an injury occurs or they trade a starter.

Cubs | Aroldis Chapman deal official |
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 09:34:46 -0700
The Chicago Cubs acquired RP Aroldis Chapman from the New York Yankees Monday, July 25, according to sources. The Cubs sent SS Gleyber Torres, OF Billy McKinney, RP Adam Warren and possibly another player. Torres is the centerpiece of the deal and was hitting .275 with nine home runs in 94 games for Class A Myrtle Beach.
Fantasy Tip: Chapman is an elite closer that just got even more attractive, as he'll now be closing games for one of the best clubs in all of baseball. Hector Rondon's value takes a big hit, as he's likely the setup man now to Chapman. In New York, Andrew Miller would see a sizeable boost if he's not traded, as he would likely take over closing duties for Chapman. If Miller also leaves town before the deadline, Dellin Betances figures to be next in line. Both relievers are already must-owns in all leagues for their stellar relief ratios.
