White Sox | Tyler Saladino draws a start

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 14:39:33 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tyler Saladino is starting at third base and is hitting ninth against Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco Wednesday, June 29. 3B Todd Frazier moves over to first base, 1B Jose Abreu is serving as the designated hitter and OF Avisail Garcia is in left field with OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) out.

Fantasy Tip: With Melky missing at least a few days, Saladino could sub in regularly in the short term. He's hitting just .250 on the year, though, and has just eight homers in the last two seasons, so his offensive upside is low. Look elsewhere tonight for a DFS sleeper at shortstop.

White Sox | Jose Abreu sitting vs. Blue Jays

Fri, 24 Jun 2016 14:12:39 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 24. SS Tyler Saladino draws into the lineup at third base and is batting ninth against Toronto Blue Jays SP Aaron Sanchez Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Sub out Abreu where you can in seasonal leagues. He is having a huge June with five home runs, 20 RBI and a .333/.382/.615 slash line and should be viewed as a slam-dunk starter in all settings. Saladino is nothing more than a depth option in cavernous mixed and AL-only setups, as his playing time has plummeted with the promotion of Tim Anderson.

White Sox | Jose Abreu homers, drives in three

Thu, 23 Jun 2016 18:31:31 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu went 2-for-4 with his 11th home run of the season Thursday, June 23, against the Boston Red Sox. The homer produced his lone run scored and three RBI for the ballgame.

Fantasy Tip: Abreu clocked at least 30 homers in each of his prior two years in the big leagues, and although he is on pace to fall short of that in 2016, the 29-year-old is still one of the better first basemen to own in all of fantasy baseball. At least he's on pace to top 100 RBI for the third straight campaign.

White Sox | Jose Abreu moved to cleanup spot

Mon, 13 Jun 2016 12:49:44 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu is batting fourth against Detroit Tigers SP Matt Boyd Monday, June 13.

Fantasy Tip: Abreu has been solid this season with 25 runs, eight home runs, 34 RBI and a .260/.315/.415 slash line, but those who made him a building block of their fantasy roster were expecting more. Current owners should remain patient, whereas others could kick the tires with a buy-low offer on the proven slugger.

White Sox | Jose Abreu productive at plate

Wed, 25 May 2016 20:43:16 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu went 3-for-4 against the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, May 25.

Fantasy Tip: Abreu has gone 6-for-8 over the last two games but has hit only one home run in his last 17 games. Abreu has posted decent numbers and will continue to hit in the middle of the lineup, so he should be an attractive option for most owners.

White Sox | Jose Abreu has diagnostics on Klubot

Wed, 25 May 2016 11:02:47 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu, who broke a skid with three hits Tuesday, May 24, has hit Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber to a tune of .357 with three homers in 28 at-bats in his career.

Fantasy Tip: Abreu will face off against Kluber Wednesday. Abreu is catching him at the right time because he hasn't been his typical dominant self. Abreu is a high-end consideration today.

White Sox | Two players sitting for White Sox

Sun, 22 May 2016 10:03:17 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu and OF Avisail Garcia are not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura. OF Jerry Sands will start at first base and is batting fifth. SS Jimmy Rollins will serve as the designated hitter, while SS Carlos Sanchez will start at shortstop and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Sands has three hits in his last two games and can be a sleeper option in some fantasy leagues. Sanchez has not recorded great numbers since being recalled and should be avoided in all leagues.

White Sox | Jose Abreu pressing at the plate

Sat, 21 May 2016 17:19:43 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu is one of several players pressing too hard at the plate, manager Robin Venture said Saturday, May 21. "You could see it as far as getting in those situations trying to probably hit a seven-run homer," Ventura said. "You can't get out of it that way. You've got to be able to relax and get through it. We'll be there for him."

Fantasy Tip: Continue to stick with Abreu in season-long formats while he works things out at the plate, but he should be avoided in daily formats until he is back on track.

White Sox | Jose Abreu will be DH

Sat, 21 May 2016 09:39:22 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu will serve as the designated hitter against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy Saturday, May 21. OF Jerry Sands will start at first base and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Abreu is a must-start option in all leagues even though he is hitting .200 over the last seven days. Sands is hitting 4-for-17 with three RBI this month but is not a strong option in most leagues.

White Sox | Jimmy Rollins takes a seat

Fri, 20 May 2016 12:29:25 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Jimmy Rollins is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 20. SS Tyler Saladino is starting at shortstop and is hitting ninth against Kansas City Royals SP Dillon Gee. 1B Jose Abreu is in the two-hole, 3B Todd Frazier is hitting third and OF Melky Cabrera draws a spot in the cleanup role.

Fantasy Tip: Saladino doesn't do much at the plate and his spot at the bottom of the order makes him even less attractive to those in daily games. You can find better options at the 6 on this full slate of games. The other White Sox hitters are all recommended against Gee.
