Mets | N.Y. unlikely to trade aces

Wed, 04 Nov 2015 11:53:11 -0800

New York Mets SPs Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz are unlikely to be traded, according to general manager Sandy Alderson. "I can't see it happening," Alderson said. "You never know what comes up. But I think it's unlikely."

Fantasy Tip: All four of these young starters for the Mets will be highly valuable to fantasy owners next season, and all four will come off the board in the early rounds of drafts.

Mets | Mets aces don't have extension discussions

Wed, 04 Nov 2015 11:45:57 -0800

New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said the team hasn't discussed multi-year deals with the agents for SPs Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom to this point.

Fantasy Tip: It'll likely happen down the road for these two young studs, especially after they helped carry the Mets to a World Series appearance. Both Harvey and deGrom will be among the elite young fantasy arms in 2016 drafts, and you better expect to overpay to get them.

Sat, 24 Oct 2015 13:26:33 -0700

New York Mets SP Matt Harvey will start Game 1 of the World Series against the Kansas City Royals. He'll be followed by SP Jacob deGrom, SP Noah Syndergaard and SP Steven Matz.

Fantasy Tip: Harvey had a good season a full year from Tommy John surgery and should be poised to build on it next season. He'll be one of the top few SP options in drafts.

Mets | Jacob deGrom fatigued?

Fri, 23 Oct 2015 11:21:33 -0700

New York Mets manager Terry Collins thinks SP Matt Harvey is more capable of throwing three times in the World Series over SP Jacob deGrom because Collins thinks deGrom is fatigued.

Fantasy Tip: deGrom is a perfect 3-0 in the playoffs this year and had a fantastic regular season, too, going 14-8 with a 2.54 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings. deGrom is truly one of the best young strikeout pitchers in the game and should go in the early rounds of fantasy drafts next year as a top-tier starter.

Fri, 23 Oct 2015 06:11:51 -0700

New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom, SP Noah Syndergaard, SP Matt Harvey and SP Steven Matz will be the rotation in the World Series.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore won't have daily games in the World Series, but it should be fun to watch no matter who comes out of the American League.

Cubs | Jorge Soler back in lineup

Tue, 20 Oct 2015 13:23:29 -0700

Chicago Cubs OF Jorge Soler is back in the lineup for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series Tuesday, Oct. 20, against the New York Mets. Soler will hit sixth against Mets SP Jacob deGrom.

Fantasy Tip: Soler ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) is one of the top home-run threats at Wrigley Field -- then again, who isn't? -- but at this low price he's worth saving a little cap money to put him in.

Mets | Jacob deGrom struggled against Cubs

Mon, 19 Oct 2015 14:58:32 -0700

New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom was 0-2 with a 6.10 ERA in two starts against the Chicago Cubs this year. The only other team to beat him twice this year was the Washington Nationals, and that came over six starts.

Fantasy Tip: deGrom ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) has two victories in the playoffs so far and has been pitching very well. Despite his recent history against Chicago this year, he is worth paying up for on FantasyScore in the Championship Series.
