|Vikings | Cordarrelle Patterson to work harder|
Tue, 28 Jun 2016 19:24:10 -0700
Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson has earned the praise of head coach Mike Zimmer this offseason, as Zimmer has lauded Patterson's work ethic and improved route running. Patterson plans to work out for a week or two in Florida with QB Teddy Bridgewater, and he might go to San Francisco for additional conditioning work.
Fantasy Tip: Patterson is in a contract year, so there is some motivation for him there, too. He is trying to work his way into a starting job opposite Stefon Diggs, but he still has a ways to go before he makes that leap. The urgency for Patterson is nice, and it sounds like he is finally getting it. With his speed he has the chance to be a great late-round fantasy find if this uptick continues.

|Vikings | Bridgewater, Kyle Rudolph connecting |
Tue, 21 Jun 2016 17:30:47 -0700
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater said he and TE Kyle Rudolph talk about how they can improve when they're not on the field. Bridgewater also said Rudolph studies the plays from a quarterback's perspective. The young quarterback has learned to trust his tight end more, too, and Bridgewater has counted on Rudolph to come through.
Fantasy Tip: Even with a developed connection and better rapport, Bridgewater and Rudolph are both backups in their respective positions from a fantasy perspective.

|Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater improving on deep ball|
Tue, 14 Jun 2016 21:09:09 -0700
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has shown "plenty of improvement" the last couple of months, especially throwing the deep ball, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. "It's just finishing throws. (We) put the tape on of last year, and there were a bunch of throws where I probably wasn't finishing," Bridgewater said.
Fantasy Tip: The improvements come a year too late for Mike Wallace, who openly complained about needing "a better quarterback" about the same time he signed with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. The deep passing game has been a sore subject to say the least during Bridgewater's two-year run as the Vikings' quarterback, so Stefon Diggs and rookie Laquon Treadwell figure to benefit greatly if this improvement sticks. Nevertheless, Bridgewater figures to remain an unexciting QB2 in a run-heavy offense this season.

|Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater worked with WRs|
Thu, 07 Apr 2016 15:30:40 -0700
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater and Vikings wide receivers, including WR Charles Johnson, recently finished workouts in Orlando, Fla. Johnson said it felt good to make connections, be around his teammates again and learn some new things.
Fantasy Tip: It's always promising when quarterbacks and receivers meet during the offseason to work out together. Bridgewater still isn't in QB1 territory, though, but he is a capable backup fantasy quarterback and a good matchup play.

|Vikings | Improved O-line could help Bridgewater|
Thu, 24 Mar 2016 09:36:17 -0700
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater was sacked 44 times last year, which was tied for sixth most in the league, and the Minnesota offensive line gave up 96 quarterback hits in 2015. Bridgewater was pressured on 46.9% of his dropbacks, which was most in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.
Fantasy Tip: The offseason acquisitions of Alex Boone and Andre Smith, along with the impending returns of Phil Loadholt and John Sullivan should beef up Minny's offensive line and help Bridgewater stay upright more often. However, a lack of talent in the receiving corps is concerning. Bridgewater will remain a fantasy backup until further notice.

|Vikings | Ground game hurting Teddy Bridgewater?|
Fri, 26 Feb 2016 21:18:36 -0800
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater's development has been slowed because the offense heavily features RB Adrian Peterson, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. Zimmer added that he believes Bridgewater can take charge if needed, and the offense just needs time to mold together to use the strengths of both players.
Fantasy Tip: As long as Peterson is healthy and performing well, Bridgewater is likely to play second fiddle in the offense. He is a low-range QB2 at this point.

|Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater needs to let loose|
Thu, 18 Feb 2016 14:12:01 -0800
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater needs to let loose a little more, according to general manager Rick Spielman. Spielman didn't go as far as to say Bridgewater is too cautious, but he did infer that Bridgewater should be taking more chances downfield instead of playing so safe.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater has played fairly safe overall in his young career, throwing 28 touchdowns to 21 interceptions in two seasons. He has yet to make that next step, though, and has averaged just over 3,000 passing yards per season. There is plenty of room for growth, and Bridgewater should not be considered more than a backup fantasy quarterback.

|Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater better indoors?|
Fri, 12 Feb 2016 09:28:56 -0800
Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman thinks QB Teddy Bridgewater will be aided by the move to an indoor stadium in 2016. In five career games indoors, Bridgewater is 2-3 with a 70.6% completion rate, 8.1 yards per pass, 258 yards passing per game, four touchdowns and three interceptions. "I think it's just in general, quarterbacks playing indoors (play better)," Spielman said. "If you look at Teddy's stats and how he performed when we were indoors, in Detroit or even out in Arizona, some of those ideal conditions, we feel he can take another step forward. But he still has to play outdoors."
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater did improve in his sophomore season, and having Adrian Peterson at his disposal surely helped. Seeing another improvement in his third season wouldn't be outlandish, but saying he'd be anything more than a low-end fantasy starter would be bold.

|Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater quiet in playoff game|
Sun, 10 Jan 2016 14:47:14 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater threw 14 touchdowns for the second straight regular season and threw for at least 200 yards in only seven games this season. Bridgewater could improve next season but should only be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues in 2016.

|NFL | Seahawks-Vikings game to be cold|
Wed, 06 Jan 2016 10:03:19 -0800
The wild-card matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Jan. 10, is expected to see a temperature in Minneapolis at a high of 1 degree, not counting the 10-15 mph wind-chill factor. Both Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater have fared well in cold games in their careers. Wilson is 3-2 with a 66.9 completion percentage while averaging 258.4 passing yards and a 13-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Bridgewater is 6-3 with a 66.5 completion percentage while averaging 191.8 passing yards and a 12-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
Fantasy Tip: You should never make a final decision on a fantasy player based on cold weather. While both quarterbacks have played well in their careers in cold temperatures, you have to like Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) much more in this one on FantasyScore, even at the higher price. Bridgewater ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has finished the season strong but has the unenviable task of facing the Legion of Boom.
