Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has surgery set

Tue, 06 Sep 2016 06:08:23 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) has surgery scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 8, to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament and other damage in his left knee, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater is likely to miss a calendar year or more, and the team snatched Sam Bradford from the Philadelphia Eagles. Bradford has a lot of physical talent, but it just hasn't shown up on game day. He's a midrange QB2 that could perform well in spurts if he remains protected.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater placed on IR

Wed, 31 Aug 2016 14:36:48 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater will miss the entire 2016 season because of his serious knee injury, and owners will need to monitor the situation to see if he will be ready for the 2017 season. Shaun Hill likely will be the starting quarterback for the Vikings this season but should only be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has torn ACL

Tue, 30 Aug 2016 18:09:58 -0700

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and other structural damage as a result of a non-contact injury in practice Tuesday, Aug. 30, and he also has a dislocated knee. An MRI confirmed the injuries. He did not suffer any nerve or arterial damage, however. He will have surgery within the next few days, but is expected to miss the 2016 season.

Fantasy Tip: With the franchise quarterback going down, drop Stefon Diggs and Laquon Treadwell down on your draft sheets, as the quarterback play will be significantly degraded. Adrian Peterson will have to carry a much bigger load in 2016, and that's good news for his fantasy stock, although you can expect teams to stack the box daring the Vikings to pass with whomever they tab as the signal caller. Shaun Hill is likely to take over due to his knowledge of the offense, since he is the in-house guy, but expect Mark Sanchez, Colin Kaepernick or another veteran free-agent to get a call as well.

Vikings | Significant injury for Teddy Bridgewater

Tue, 30 Aug 2016 14:17:42 -0700

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) suffered a significant injury to his left knee in practice Tuesday, Aug. 30, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. The extent of the injury is not yet known, however, as Bridgewater is still undergoing testing.

Fantasy Tip: One can expect Bridgewater to miss a good deal of time this season. This is Shaun Hill's team to quarterback right now, but look for the Vikings to add someone. As far as Hill's fantasy value, he is really only viable in good matchups and/or as a bye-week replacement.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater goes down in practice

Tue, 30 Aug 2016 12:09:23 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (undisclosed) went down on a non-contact play during practice Tuesday, Aug. 30. Practice was subsequently called off as trainers tended to the quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Non-contact injuries are never a good sign; it sounds like it could be something serious for Minnesota's starting thrower. Shaun Hill is a capable backup, but he doesn't have the fantasy appeal that Bridgewater does and would only be worth a bye-week start in a good matchup. Stay tuned for updates on Bridgewater's status.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater's shoulder holds up

Sun, 28 Aug 2016 18:42:18 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) completed 12 of his 16 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown in a 23-10 preseason win over the San Diego Chargers Sunday, Aug. 28, and he said his throwing shoulder felt great.

Fantasy Tip: Although Bridgewater appears healthy, his ceiling is limited by Minnesota's run-heavy offense. He is a mediocre QB2 option.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater expected to play

Sun, 28 Aug 2016 09:27:06 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) is participating in pregame warmups and is expected to play in the preseason game against the San Diego Chargers Sunday, Aug. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater dealt with a sore shoulder earlier in training camp but appears to be fine. He probably will improve on his status from 2015 but should still be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback since Adrian Peterson will continue to see a lot of work.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater expects to play

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 14:16:30 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) said he expects to play in the preseason game against the San Diego Chargers Sunday, Aug. 28. Bridgewater did not say much about his shoulder injury.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known how much playing time Bridgewater will receive if he is active for the game, but it would be a good sign if he is able to play. He probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues since the Vikings are more of a running team and will not throw as much as other teams.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater resumes throwing

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 15:24:35 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) threw during team drills Tuesday, Aug. 23, although he was apparently throwing shorter passes for the most part. Head coach Mike Zimmer said he didn't want to play Bridgewater last week for risk of Bridgewater getting hurt, adding that he would use caution if Bridgewater did have a shoulder issue. It's unclear if Bridgewater will play in Week 3 of the preseason.

Fantasy Tip: A keen eye will have to be kept on Bridgewater leading up to the regular season. His numbers weren't off the chart last year, but he did enough to achieve a playoff berth. He doesn't do enough to get a playoff berth for fantasy teams, however, and should only be drafted as a backup.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater limited on Saturday

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 17:05:51 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater was on the field but did not attempt any throws at practice on Saturday, Aug. 20. Head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters he had "no concern" about his signal-caller's health.

Fantasy Tip: Zimmer also told reporters Bridgewater "could have played Thursday, but I decided not to play him" in reference to the fact his starting quarterback sat out the team's road exhibition win against the Seattle Seahawks. For now, owners should take Zimmer at his word and consider this a minor issue while also remembering Shaun Hill would be the starter if the situation gets worse. Bridgewater is a mostly unexciting QB2 at the moment in most leagues.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has sore shoulder

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 15:50:39 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) did not play in the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, Aug. 18, because of a sore shoulder, according to sources. Bridgewater likely would have played if it was a regular season game, but the Vikings decided to keep him out.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater probably will be able to play in the next preseason game, but owners should keep an eye on the situation. The Vikings probably will continue to be more of a running team this season, which makes Bridgewater a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater struggles in red zone

Sat, 06 Aug 2016 19:38:04 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater threw consecutive interceptions in a red-zone drill Friday, Aug. 5, and he completed just two of his seven pass attempts overall during the drill.

Fantasy Tip: Minnesota's offensive is going to revolve around Adrian Peterson until further notice, and Bridgewater should be viewed a mid-range QB2 with limited upside.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater worked with receivers

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 17:13:14 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater worked out with some of the wide receivers and tight ends on the roster in April and July in order to build chemistry with his teammates.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater will be looking to improve on his 2015 stats and working out with his targets should help his play in his third season with the Vikings. He probably should be considered as a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Cordarrelle Patterson to work harder

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 19:24:10 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson has earned the praise of head coach Mike Zimmer this offseason, as Zimmer has lauded Patterson's work ethic and improved route running. Patterson plans to work out for a week or two in Florida with QB Teddy Bridgewater, and he might go to San Francisco for additional conditioning work.

Fantasy Tip: Patterson is in a contract year, so there is some motivation for him there, too. He is trying to work his way into a starting job opposite Stefon Diggs, but he still has a ways to go before he makes that leap. The urgency for Patterson is nice, and it sounds like he is finally getting it. With his speed he has the chance to be a great late-round fantasy find if this uptick continues.

Vikings | Bridgewater, Kyle Rudolph connecting

Tue, 21 Jun 2016 17:30:47 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater said he and TE Kyle Rudolph talk about how they can improve when they're not on the field. Bridgewater also said Rudolph studies the plays from a quarterback's perspective. The young quarterback has learned to trust his tight end more, too, and Bridgewater has counted on Rudolph to come through.

Fantasy Tip: Even with a developed connection and better rapport, Bridgewater and Rudolph are both backups in their respective positions from a fantasy perspective.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater improving on deep ball

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 21:09:09 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has shown "plenty of improvement" the last couple of months, especially throwing the deep ball, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. "It's just finishing throws. (We) put the tape on of last year, and there were a bunch of throws where I probably wasn't finishing," Bridgewater said.

Fantasy Tip: The improvements come a year too late for Mike Wallace, who openly complained about needing "a better quarterback" about the same time he signed with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. The deep passing game has been a sore subject to say the least during Bridgewater's two-year run as the Vikings' quarterback, so Stefon Diggs and rookie Laquon Treadwell figure to benefit greatly if this improvement sticks. Nevertheless, Bridgewater figures to remain an unexciting QB2 in a run-heavy offense this season.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater worked with WRs

Thu, 07 Apr 2016 15:30:40 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater and Vikings wide receivers, including WR Charles Johnson, recently finished workouts in Orlando, Fla. Johnson said it felt good to make connections, be around his teammates again and learn some new things.

Fantasy Tip: It's always promising when quarterbacks and receivers meet during the offseason to work out together. Bridgewater still isn't in QB1 territory, though, but he is a capable backup fantasy quarterback and a good matchup play.

Vikings | Improved O-line could help Bridgewater

Thu, 24 Mar 2016 09:36:17 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater was sacked 44 times last year, which was tied for sixth most in the league, and the Minnesota offensive line gave up 96 quarterback hits in 2015. Bridgewater was pressured on 46.9% of his dropbacks, which was most in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

Fantasy Tip: The offseason acquisitions of Alex Boone and Andre Smith, along with the impending returns of Phil Loadholt and John Sullivan should beef up Minny's offensive line and help Bridgewater stay upright more often. However, a lack of talent in the receiving corps is concerning. Bridgewater will remain a fantasy backup until further notice.

Vikings | Ground game hurting Teddy Bridgewater?

Fri, 26 Feb 2016 21:18:36 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater's development has been slowed because the offense heavily features RB Adrian Peterson, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. Zimmer added that he believes Bridgewater can take charge if needed, and the offense just needs time to mold together to use the strengths of both players.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Peterson is healthy and performing well, Bridgewater is likely to play second fiddle in the offense. He is a low-range QB2 at this point.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater needs to let loose

Thu, 18 Feb 2016 14:12:01 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater needs to let loose a little more, according to general manager Rick Spielman. Spielman didn't go as far as to say Bridgewater is too cautious, but he did infer that Bridgewater should be taking more chances downfield instead of playing so safe.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater has played fairly safe overall in his young career, throwing 28 touchdowns to 21 interceptions in two seasons. He has yet to make that next step, though, and has averaged just over 3,000 passing yards per season. There is plenty of room for growth, and Bridgewater should not be considered more than a backup fantasy quarterback.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater better indoors?

Fri, 12 Feb 2016 09:28:56 -0800

Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman thinks QB Teddy Bridgewater will be aided by the move to an indoor stadium in 2016. In five career games indoors, Bridgewater is 2-3 with a 70.6% completion rate, 8.1 yards per pass, 258 yards passing per game, four touchdowns and three interceptions.

"I think it's just in general, quarterbacks playing indoors (play better)," Spielman said. "If you look at Teddy's stats and how he performed when we were indoors, in Detroit or even out in Arizona, some of those ideal conditions, we feel he can take another step forward. But he still has to play outdoors."

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater did improve in his sophomore season, and having Adrian Peterson at his disposal surely helped. Seeing another improvement in his third season wouldn't be outlandish, but saying he'd be anything more than a low-end fantasy starter would be bold.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater quiet in playoff game

Sun, 10 Jan 2016 14:47:14 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater went 17-for-24 for 146 yards during the wild-card playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater threw 14 touchdowns for the second straight regular season and threw for at least 200 yards in only seven games this season. Bridgewater could improve next season but should only be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues in 2016.

NFL | Seahawks-Vikings game to be cold

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 10:03:19 -0800

The wild-card matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Jan. 10, is expected to see a temperature in Minneapolis at a high of 1 degree, not counting the 10-15 mph wind-chill factor. Both Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater have fared well in cold games in their careers. Wilson is 3-2 with a 66.9 completion percentage while averaging 258.4 passing yards and a 13-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Bridgewater is 6-3 with a 66.5 completion percentage while averaging 191.8 passing yards and a 12-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Fantasy Tip: You should never make a final decision on a fantasy player based on cold weather. While both quarterbacks have played well in their careers in cold temperatures, you have to like Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) much more in this one on FantasyScore, even at the higher price. Bridgewater ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has finished the season strong but has the unenviable task of facing the Legion of Boom.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater does little in win

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 22:56:31 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater completed 10 of his 19 pass attempts for 99 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 17 game against the Green Bay Packers. He was sacked three times while rushing for just two yards on two attempts.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater will face another difficult matchup against the visiting Seattle Seahawks next Sunday in the first-round of the playoffs. Avoid Bridgewater in FantasyScore, as even with limited options he is not a recommended play.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater improving

Thu, 31 Dec 2015 09:09:40 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has thrown six touchdowns and no interceptions in the last three games to achieve the second highest passer rating (154.4) in the league in that span when throwing 15-plus yards down the field. In comparison, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has just four touchdowns and two interceptions and has a passer rating below 100.0 in nine straight games.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers are around middle of the pack defending against quarterbacks this year and have stiffened in the last several weeks. Playing in Green Bay won't be easy for Bridgewater ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) with a division title on the line, either. Temper your expectations in this one.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater posts 168 yards, TD

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 21:34:18 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater completed 15 of his 25 pass attempts for 168 yards and a touchdown with two runs for 12 yards in the Week 16 game against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater did plenty to help his real team win, but his stat line didn't help many fantasy owners to victories on Sunday despite an ultra-favorable matchup against a bad New York pass defense.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater's role won't expand

Tue, 22 Dec 2015 18:42:56 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has completed 16 of his 18 third-down pass attempts over the last two games, but head coach Mike Zimmer said he is not planning to become a pass-first offense. "We want to run the football," Zimmer said. "And we want to be efficient throwing the ball."

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) tossed four touchdowns in Week 15, but he still has just 13 passing touchdowns for the year. The Minnesota offense is going to run through Adrian Peterson ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) most weeks, so Bridgewater is no lock to produce big numbers against the New York Giants in Week 16.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater accounts for five TDs

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 13:51:21 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater went 17-for-20 for 231 yards and four touchdowns against the Chicago Bears in Week 15. He also rushed for 17 yards and one touchdown on four carries during the game.

Fantasy Tip: It was the second time this season that Bridgewater threw for multiple touchdowns and set a career-high with his four touchdowns in Week 15. He will be facing the New York Giants in Week 16 and could be a sleeper option for owners since the Giants have struggled against the pass.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater encouraging in loss

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 09:12:43 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater threw for a career-high 335 passing yards in the Week 14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals Thursday, Dec. 10, and he was under control for much of the game and saw the field well and beat the Cardinals blitzes.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater threw for one touchdown and had no interceptions in his best game of the season. It's encouraging for a quarterback that hadn't done much at all to speak of for his fantasy owners. However, even though it came against a top-five defense, we're not ready to say that Bridgewater is playable yet in any fantasy format.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater better in shotgun

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 12:55:22 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has been better in shotgun than under center this year. He's thrown an interception on 2.0% of his passes on plays in shotgun compared to 3.3% when he's under center. Six of his eight touchdowns this year have come out of shotgun formation. However, RB Adrian Peterson is more comfortable with Bridgewater under center, as all eight of Peterson's touchdown runs have come with Bridgewater under center. Peterson is averaging 5.3 yards per rush with Bridgewater under center compared to just 2.2 yards per rush in shotgun.

Fantasy Tip: The Vikings are a run-centric team that relies heavily on Peterson ($8,100, 16.2% of cap). Bridgewater ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) hasn't been asked to carry the team, and he's not helping fantasy owners really at all this year. With that said, it's tough to want to pay up for AD on FantasyScore Thursday night against a top-five defense. Stay away from Bridgewater, as well.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater running around often

Tue, 01 Dec 2015 14:47:14 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater entered Week 12 averaging 13.84 yards run per drop back, which is the highest figure for a quarterback in the league. After Week 13, the number increased to 14.86.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) doesn't have the best cast of receivers a quarterback could ask for, and the Vikings are leaning heavily on their ground game this year. Bridgewater also has gone over 300 yards passing just once this year. While the Seattle Seahawks are no longer the Legion of Boom on defense, nobody on FantasyScore should be chomping at the bit to use Bridgewater against them in Week 13.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater probable

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 13:53:22 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 27, and is listed as probable for the Week 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has been able to play despite the injury. He is coming off one of his best games of the season when he threw for 296 yards and one touchdown last week. Bridgewater may not be the best option for owners since the Falcons play well against opposing quarterbacks.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater full go

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 15:12:34 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) will play this weekend, but he doesn't have a very tasty matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. There are better options at quarterback on FantasyScore this week.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater fully practices

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 14:52:10 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has been beat up lately but should be good to go against the Atlanta Falcons. The ground game has been the focus in Minnesota this year, leaving Bridgewater as more of a game manager. He's gone over 300 yards just once this year and hasn't done much for fantasy owners to hang their hats on. That shouldn't change this week against a strong Falcons secondary. Consider Bridgewater one to avoid.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater injures shoulder

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 14:37:51 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) left the team's Week 11 game because of a shoulder injury but is expected to return to the game.

Fantasy Tip: It appears that Bridgewater suffered a minor injury and should play again in the game. He has not been a great starting option for owners this season and likely is a backup for most owners.

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 20, and is listed as probable for the Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) will be able to play despite the injury. He has not done much in the passing game over the last several weeks, so owners probably should look for other options to use.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has not thrown for more than 200 yards in any of his last three games. Bridgewater has a decent matchup against the Green Bay Packers this week, but owners should be able to find better options to use.

Vikings | Minnesota favors power-running game

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 09:20:31 -0800

The Minnesota Vikings have become a power-running team once again with RB Adrian Peterson back, and they include a lot of two-tight end sets. Last year they mainly had QB Teddy Bridgewater in shotgun formation in the absence of Peterson, and Bridgewater ran 64.8% of the plays out of the shotgun or pistol formation. Bridgewater has been under center in 2015 52.6% of the time and have the best rushing attack in the NFC.

Bridgewater has been more efficient both in the shotgun and under center this year than when he was a rookie in 2014, too. However, the Vikings aren't producing many big plays through the air with Bridgewater, but his ability to avoid sacks and minimize turnovers is a reason why Minnesota currently leads their division.

Fantasy Tip: The Vikings have found a winning solution so far this year, and it centers around Peterson, for obvious reasons. As a result, that has meant mostly average performances through the air for Bridgewater ($4,800, 9.6% of cap). That should continue, too, which will limit Bridgewater's fantasy ceiling and make him a weak daily play most weeks.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has full practice

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 14:58:31 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Fantasy Tip: The Green Bay Packers have been mediocre versus quarterbacks this year, making Bridgewater a semi-favorable play on FantasyScore. He hasn't thrown for over 200 yards in four weeks, though, so tread carefully if considering him this week.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has been mediocre

Mon, 16 Nov 2015 13:53:44 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has thrown for under 250 yards passing in seven of his nine starts this year after going for just 140 aerial yards against the Oakland Raiders in Week 10. Bridgewater had 22 passing attempts to RB Adrian Peterson's 26 carries against Oakland.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater is a midrange backup quarterback for fantasy owners. He often checks down and takes the short throws and rarely attempts to stretch the field, limiting his fantasy ceiling. He has very little appeal on FantasyScore.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater will play

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 11:52:07 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) is officially active for the Week 10 game against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) was cleared to play earlier in the week and will be the starter. He is a risky option because of his injury but does have a favorable matchup, so owners could consider him as a starting option.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater expected to play

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 13:58:46 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 13, and is fully expected to play in Week 10 against the Oakland Raiders, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. However, Bridgewater hasn't yet been cleared to return to action by doctors. Zimmer said he doesn't "have any doubts." Bridgewater is officially listed as questionable.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is a risk/rewart pick in daily games this weekend. Many will avoid him because he's coming off head trauma and is questionable with a late game. However, Oakland is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points (24.4) to opposing quarterbacks per week.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Bridgewater ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) will be able to play this weekend as long as he is officially cleared. He would have a favorable matchup if he does play as the Oakland Raiders allow 325.13 passing yards per game.

Fantasy Tip: If Bridgewater ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) plays, he'll have a really tasty matchup against the Oakland Raiders, who yield over 235 passing yards per game.

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) was cleared and practiced Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) faces an Oakland Raiders team that hasn't defended QBs well the last five weeks. However, he doesn't have a lot of upside on FantasyScore.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater could have big game

Tue, 10 Nov 2015 23:00:52 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) still needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist, per the league's concussion protocol. If he is cleared, he would face an Oakland Raiders pass defense which ranks 32nd in the NFL by allowing 314.6 yards per game.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) would be a nice FantasyScore option at a mid-tier price if he is able to suit up, but that's a big question mark right now. If Shaun Hill ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is forced into action he could be a nice sleeper, too.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater should play

Mon, 09 Nov 2015 12:34:02 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) should be able to play in Week 10 after passing his first test in the concussion protocol, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Fantasy Tip: The Vikings may try to use Bridgewater less in Week 10, assuming he plays, in order lessen the chance of aggravating the injury. He does have a favorable matchup against the Oakland Raiders, though, who are allowing 325 passing yards per game.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has concussion

Sun, 08 Nov 2015 13:40:09 -0800

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) sustained a concussion during the fourth quarter of Week 9's game against the St. Louis Rams and will not return to the game. Bridgewater suffered the injury after taking a vicious hit from CB Lamarcus Joyner after he had given himself up on a slide. Joyner was penalized for the hit and is likely to be fined by the league later this week.

Fantasy Tip: If Bridgewater ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is unable to play in Week 10's game against the Oakland Raiders, Shaun Hill ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) will receive the start. Bridgewater finished the game 13-for-21 with 144 passing yards and one interception, along with 17 rushing yards and one touchdown. Hill was just 2-for-6 for 15 yards in relief against the Rams and would not make a great FantasyScore option for Week 10 if he receives the starting nod.
