Jets | Austin Seferian-Jenkins may have bigger role

Sat, 23 Sep 2017 11:52:25 -0700

New York Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins could receive a bigger role in the offense in Week 3 if TE Will Tye (illness) is not able to play.

Fantasy Tip: The Jets probably would want to ease Seferian-Jenkins into the offense since he missed the first two games of the season, but he could receive some targets this week. Owners should avoid Seferian-Jenkins this week, but he could have some fantasy value later in the season.

Jets | Status for Austin Seferian-Jenkins uncertain

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 17:26:38 -0700

New York Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins has served his two-game suspension, but head coach Todd Bowles said it is too early to say if Seferian-Jenkins will play in Week 3. Bowles said Seferian-Jenkins needs to get into a little better shape before he is ready to play.

Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins probably would have a limited role if he plays and probably can be avoided this week, but he has a chance to be at least a No. 2 tight end for owners later in the season.

Jets | Austin Seferian-Jenkins on suspended list

Sat, 02 Sep 2017 14:56:20 -0700

New York Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was placed on the Reserve/Suspended list Saturday, Sept. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins will miss the first two games because of the suspension but should be the starting tight end when he returns. He should be one of the top targets in the Jets passing game, which makes him a decent No. 2 fantasy tight end.

Jets | Austin Seferian-Jenkins standing out

Wed, 09 Aug 2017 09:04:06 -0700

New York Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins could be the team's No. 1 option in the passing game if he carry his strong play in training camp over to the regular season, according to NJ Advance Media's Connor Hughes.

Fantasy Tip: The praise and hype has been steady and consistent for the "new" Seferian-Jenkins, enough to the point where it would be wise for owners to start taking notice and drafting him in the later rounds. The Jets have one of the worst (or at least unproven) receiving corps in recent memory and ASJ brings a substantial amount of untapped potential to the table. Despite the fact he will miss the first two games of the season due to a suspension, he very well could lead the team in receiving.

Jets | Austin Seferian-Jenkins the starter?

Thu, 13 Jul 2017 19:33:27 -0700

New York Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins "looks like the clear starter" ahead TE Jordan Leggett and TE Eric Tomlinson because of his edge in talent and experience, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post.

Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins has had some off-field issues, but he appears focused on football. Meanwhile, a lack of weapons in the passing game could lead to plenty of targets this season. He is worth a flier as a TE2.

Jets | Austin Seferian-Jenkins likes offense

Sat, 08 Jul 2017 18:41:03 -0700

New York Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins said he knows this year's offense more than past offenses, and he likes how offensive coordinator John Morton is making an emphasis to use the tight end.

Fantasy Tip: The athletic talent has always been there, and Seferian-Jenkins appears to be focused on football for once. The Jets don't have many weapons on offense, so he isn't a terrible player to take a flier on in the final rounds of drafts.

Jets | Austin Seferian-Jenkins steps up

Fri, 09 Jun 2017 21:51:32 -0700

New York Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was the most impressive player on the field during OTAs, according to beat writer Connor Hughes.

Fantasy Tip: The talent has always been there, and after he dropped some weight in the offseason, Seferian-Jenkins seems committed to improving. The Jets don't have many weapons to throw to, so he could end up being a big part of the offense. He is worth a flier as a TE2.

Jets | Jets TEs were easily last in NFL in yards

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 21:53:42 -0800

The New York Jets produced by far the fewest receiving yards at the tight end position, combining for only 173 yards all season from TEs Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Brandon Bostick. The next-fewest team, the Miami Dolphins, had 551 yards.

Fantasy Tip: That's an embarrassingly low number for a team over the course of a full season, though in their defense, it had just as much to do with poor quarterback play. Seferian-Jenkins has built up hype before and rightfully so due to his natural talents, but until the Jets have a legitimate starting option under center, all of their TE options can be ignored in just about every league.
