Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston has received the approval of WR Mike Evans. "He can sit in the pocket, deliver the ball and that's more opportunities for the receivers," Evans said, emphasizing his desire for a pocket passer.
Fantasy Tip: Winston's ability to be composed and pass from the pocket will benefit both Evans and Vincent Jackson, who can both spread the field and score on any play downfield. Assuming Winston starts, it could take some time for him to acclimate to the professional level, but Jackson and Evans should still be in the WR2 neighborhood with WR1 potential. Winston, meanwhile, is a backup fantasy quarterback for his rookie season, even with his valuable weapons.
Wed, 06 May 2015 13:19:14 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans wants to improve his route running and his understanding of coverages for the 2015 season. Evans added that he has two other goals of making the playoffs and making the Pro Bowl.
Fantasy Tip: Evans kind of makes it sound like he had an off season in his rookie campaign, but 68 catches for 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns isn't a lot to improve on. Evans is in WR2 territory with WR1 upside if he can develop good chemistry with QB Jameis Winston.
Tue, 23 Dec 2014 20:44:29 -0800
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans has had less than 50 receiving yards in each of his last five games, but he has been targeted 46 times over the same stretch.
Fantasy Tip: Evans has remained a serviceable fantasy option by hauling in four scores over the same five games, but since his 209-yard outburst in Week 11, opposing defenses may be paying a little more attention to the rookie.
Sun, 23 Nov 2014 18:23:16 -0800
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans had three receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears. He has now scored at least one touchdown in four consecutive games.
Fantasy Tip: Evans has emerged as a must-start FantasyScore option, even as his price tag has continued to rise. He continues to score touchdowns and pay for himself.
Sun, 16 Nov 2014 16:05:51 -0800
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans finished with 209 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 11 against the Washington Redskins. He is the first rookie since Randy Moss in 1998 to post three straight 100-yard receiving games. He is also the first rookie with 200 yards receiving and two touchdowns in a game since Anquan Boldin in 2003. Evans finished seven yards shy of Vincent Jackson's franchise record of 216 yards.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans hauled in seven receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons. He has caught at least four passes in each of his eight games played this season.
Fantasy Tip: Evans has been a bright spot in an otherwise dismal season for Tampa Bay. He remains a solid low-end WR1 in FantasyScore going forward.
Thu, 06 Nov 2014 08:42:40 -0800
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is playing faster and appears to be more comfortable playing in the NFL, according to head coach Lovie Smith. "Just like anything else, it's just brand new and he's really taking a step, it seems, every week and we're excited about that because obviously he's a difference-maker and we'll continue to push him and help him and try and guide him in a way that can really propel him into where he wants to be," Smith said.
Fantasy Tip: Evans has posted solid numbers over the last four games and has caught at least one touchdown pass in three of those games. Evans costs $5,200 on FantasyScore and could be a good No. 3 wide receiver or flex option against the Atlanta Falcons this week.
Thu, 06 Nov 2014 07:30:11 -0800
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is playing faster and the offense is clicking more, according to head coach Lovie Smith. "I think that's evident and I think he's putting some fear in some guys," Smith said. "He's playing faster, things are clicking a little bit more."
Fantasy Tip: Evans ($5,200; 10.4% of your cap) is emerging as the top option in the passing game and busted out with a 7-124-2 line last week. Evans is a great WR3 option on FantasyScore.
Sat, 01 Nov 2014 20:04:16 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said he is becoming more physical in his blocking in the run game and believes it will help open up opportunities in the passing game.
Fantasy Tip: Evans has been steady in his rookie year, and he has caught four passes in five straight games and has topped 50 yards in four straight games. More importantly, he has touchdowns in two of his past three games. He will take up 10.2% of the cap ($5,200) at FantasyScore in Week 9, and he has decent upside as a sleeper against a Cleveland defense ranked 20th in passing yards allowed.
Mon, 27 Oct 2014 13:20:56 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans could receive more targets moving forward, because head coach Lovie Smith said the team wants Evans to be more involved.

Wed, 15 Oct 2014 09:51:14 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (groin) is participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 15. There was some concern that Evans re-injured his groin during drills Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Fantasy Tip: Evans is coming off a solid outing in Week 6 and appears to be on track to play in Week 8. Evans should be a No. 3 wide receiver or flex option for owners most weeks.
Sun, 12 Oct 2014 08:14:40 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (groin) is likely to play Sunday, Oct. 12.
Fantasy Tip: Evans' inactivity knocked him out of the FantasyScore game this week. His matchup against the Baltimore Ravens wasn't that great anyway.
Fri, 10 Oct 2014 10:11:44 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (groin) looks like he's good to go for Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Fantasy Tip: With Evans' return likely, one has to wonder how it'll affect Louis Murphy, who has been great in recent weeks with Mike Glennon as the starter. Murphy may still be acceptable to use as a flex at FantasyScore, but temper your expectations a tad.
Thu, 09 Oct 2014 13:54:36 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (groin) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Evans has made good progress, and it looks like he has a good chance to play in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens. Evans' return could hurt the production of Louis Murphy, who has developed fine chemistry with Mike Glennon.
Wed, 08 Oct 2014 13:39:47 -0700

Mon, 29 Sep 2014 09:49:40 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Louis Murphy had six catches for 99 yards receiving in the team's Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Murphy entered the lineup with WR Mike Evans (groin) dealing with a groin injury in the third quarter. In the preseason, Murphy had most of his repetitions with QB Mike Glennon, who is now starting.
Fantasy Tip: Murphy has familiarity with Glennon, and now he'll see plenty of playing time with Evans out two to three weeks. Consider Murphy a deep sleeper, but he'll be cheap at FantasyScore moving forward.
Mon, 29 Sep 2014 08:50:40 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (groin) will reportedly miss two or three weeks with a strained groin.
Fantasy Tip: Louis Murphy will likely move into the starting lineup, which makes him a fringe flex option on FantasyScore. Vincent Jackson will probably receive more attention from defenses now, which could hurt his stock slightly. TE Brandon Myers could play a larger role in the offense and is a fringe option at the position. TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who had 3 catches for 44 yards in Week 4, is also a benefactor and could move into the fringe/bargain bin options at tight end.

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans was involved in an altercation outside a nightclub in March, and not this past Saturday, according to his agent. There were no arrests made in the incident that was caught on tape.
Fantasy Tip: If the incident occurred in March, it would not fall under the personal conduct policy as Evans was not employed by a team. This should not change his fantasy football status.

Mon, 18 Aug 2014 07:21:30 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans was named a starter, alongside WRs Vincent Jackson and Chris Owusu, by head coach Lovie Smith. Owusu will start in the slot.
Fantasy Tip: Evans is a WR4 with upside that could lump into the WR3 mix over some aging veterans with little upside. Owusu is worth consideration for a final roster spot, but he still has much to prove.
Sat, 16 Aug 2014 15:54:32 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is starting in place of WR Chris Owusu in the second preseason game Saturday, Aug. 16.

Mon, 11 Aug 2014 08:07:18 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans frequently lined up in the slot or between the slot receiver and the outside wideout in trips formation in practice Sunday, Aug. 10. Head coach Lovie Smith said that could become more of a common position for Evans, who spent most of his college time lining up outside the numbers.
Fantasy Tip: Evans is a downfield matchup nightmare for defenders, and switching up his line-of-scrimmage station would boost his potential to contribute right out of the gate. He can be drafted as highly as a WR4 in the middle rounds of non-PPR games and could deliver a miniature version of Vincent Jackson's numbers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Texas A&M WR Mike Evans with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: Evans is a clone of Vincent Jackson (who's still a fantasy WR2) and will eventually take over for the aging V-Jax. The rookie will be a WR4 in fantasy leagues with big yardage potential. Josh McCown now has another pair of big wideouts following his time in Chicago with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. The veteran slinger, under Jeff Tedford, is a fantasy backup that could dominate in the right match-up.

If Texas A&M WR Mike Evans is available, the team likely would not hesitate to add him given the small stature of the other receivers on their roster. The team likes Louisiana State WR Odell Beckham, too, but he is right around 6-foot, and they seek a much taller target.
