New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks could be in line to replace RB Darren Sproles' production in his rookie season, according to QB Drew Brees. Brees noted that the team was creative with Sproles, using him out of the backfield, splitting him wide and using him on screen passes. Cooks was versatile and extremely productive in 2013 in college, and he's incredibly fast, has good hands and is strong after the catch. "Oh man, I've seen all the highlights, and that gets you excited," Brees said. "I think he can do a lot of things. I think he can play outside receiver. I think I he can play inside in the slot. You can hand him reverses. You can throw him screens. He can return punts."
Fantasy Tip: Remember, Cooks will be in his rookie season. Aside from that, he has big potential in this explosive offense. However, remember that Brees loves to spread the ball around to all his targets. Cooks is a fine late-round target with plenty of upside, but his chances may be few and far between.

The New Orleans Saints selected Oregon State WR Brandin Cooks with the 20th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: Meet the new Darren Sproles-Lance Moore in N'awlins. Cooks is in a fine situation to succeed immediately with Drew Brees feeding him via throws and carries. He's ideally a WR5 for fantasy drafters but worth a reach if there's little left in the sleeper pool.

The Carolina Panthers might trade up from the No. 28 overall pick to nab either Oregon State WR Brandin Cooks or Southern California WR Marqise Lee. The Miami Dolphins might be a likely trade partner at No. 19, as they will entertain offers to the pick, especially if Notre Dame OT Zack Martin is unavailable.

Oregon State WR Brandin Cooks thinks he is the best receiver in this year's draft class. "I feel like I'm the best receiver in this draft," the former Oregon State star said. "I feel like the only thing knocking me, in some people's eyes, is my height (5-foot-10). Other than that, I've got great routes, I'm versatile and I can do a lot of things some of the guys in this class can't. It only takes one team to believe in me and, whoever that one is, it's getting the No. 1 receiver in this draft." The New York Jets are very interested in him, watching his pro game and visiting with him.
