Jaguars | Toby Gerhart is lead dog

Tue, 12 Aug 2014 17:05:02 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart (hip) is the "lead dog" in the ground game, according to offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch. RBs Storm Johnson, Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman are also battling for carries. Gerhart is a candidate to lead the conference in carries, but there are questions about his ability since he has just 86 attempts over the past two seasons.

Jaguars | Committee at RB coming?

Mon, 11 Aug 2014 14:05:34 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart could be part of a running-back-by-committee approach this season with Gerhart getting around 15 carries a game, in the opinion of FOXSports.com's Alex Marvez.

Fantasy Tip: Even if the team does use some type of committee, Gerhart probably is still the top option for the team. Owners should consider Gerhart as a No. 2 or No. 3 running back during drafts. Jordan Todman, Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson could also receive some carries during the season but only Todman should be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Jaguars | Don't want Toby Gerhart at 300 carries

Thu, 31 Jul 2014 06:51:53 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart is expected to be spelled by RBs Jordan Todman, Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson so he doesn't reach the 300-carry plateau.

Fantasy Tip: Gerhart is still expected to be the leading back and makes a RB3 with upside. Todman, Robinson and Johnson will battle in camp for the backup role and could be worth an RB5 spot.

Jaguars | Storm Johnson at RB4

Sun, 20 Jul 2014 14:31:21 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson will enter camp as the fourth running back, but the team is excited about his potential. "Storm is going to run at the same speed as (Toby Gerhart) and maybe a hair faster, but he's strong and really compact," offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch said. "He has incredible vision and lower body strength."

Fantasy Tip: Johnson could be a worthwhile addition to a dynasty league, but he'd need a bevy of injuries or an amazing camp to contribute much this season.
