Steelers | Martavis Bryant chips in pedestrian line

Mon, 04 Dec 2017 22:34:37 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant finished with four catches on six targets for 40 yards in the team's Week 13 triumph Monday, Dec. 4, against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: This was an encouraging night for Bryant, who still managed to stay involved despite the return of teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster from injury. In fact, Bryant literally logged the same exact amount of receptions, yards and targets as he did a week ago against the Packers, the only difference being he didn't score in this one. He's a tremendously volatile option with Smith-Schuster involved, but he's also someone that can be a huge difference-maker in any league.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant does little on TNF

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 21:56:00 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant was targeted four times, catching two passes for 30 yards against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Few teams don't have the option to minimize a player with Bryant's upside, but with Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster on the outside the Steelers are one of them. Minus an injury to one of those two it doesn't seem like Bryant will have much of an on-the-field impact this season.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant resurfaces in win

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 15:15:48 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant posted three receptions for 42 yards on five targets in Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts and he also had a two-point conversion reception.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners will want to file this away, but not necessarily make a play to stash him on the bench. He still has a long way to go before re-emerging as a fantasy regular. As long as Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster are healthy, there isn't a huge role for Bryant.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant runs with first-team

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 07:04:46 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant practiced with the first-team offense Monday, Nov. 6, and he anticipates playing in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: The Indianapolis Colts present a good matchup, and if Bryant is set to play, he's a flex option.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant won't be traded

Tue, 31 Oct 2017 12:05:58 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant will not be traded before the deadline Tuesday, Oct. 31, and will report back to practice Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Fantasy Tip: The disgruntled Bryant will supposedly be more involved in the Steelers' game plan going forward, but we'll believe it when we see it. JuJu Smith-Schuster broke out in Bryant's absence last week and appears to have officially supplanted Bryant as Pittsburgh's No. 2 wide receiver. Don't start Bryant until he gets back on track and starts producing consistently.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant to be involved in Week 10?

Tue, 31 Oct 2017 09:53:30 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant will be part of the team's Week 10 game plan, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: This suggests Pittsburgh does not intend to trade him as it has said all along, but it also doesn't mean he is returning to the starting lineup either. JuJu Smith-Schuster is coming off a game in which he piled up 193 receiving yards and had caught the eye of the coaching staff long before that, so Bryant is likely to be no more than a situational deep threat for the remainder of 2017 barring an injury to Antonio Brown or Smith-Schuster. Owners should not feel compelled to hold on to Bryant during the team's Week 9 bye.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant will be inactive this week

Wed, 25 Oct 2017 12:47:00 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant was demoted to the scout team Wednesday, Oct. 25, and will not be active for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: The Steelers are clearly sending a message to their maligned receiver. He wasn't startable anyway after managing 18 catches for 234 yards and one touchdown in seven games this season. JuJu Smith-Schuster now serves as a flex as the Steelers' obvious No. 2 receiver.
