Jets | Isaiah Crowell has concussion

Sun, 12 Aug 2018 17:01:09 -0700

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell (concussion) suffered a concussion in the first preseason game and did not travel with the team for their joint practices with the Washington Redskins, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell will need to pass his concussion tests before he is allowed back on the field but has plenty of time to recover before the start of the season. He likely will receive most of the carries for the Jets this season and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 back in standard leagues.

Jets | Isaiah Crowell leaves early

Fri, 10 Aug 2018 17:21:16 -0700

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell (head) left the preseason game early Friday, Aug. 10, and is being evaluated for a head injury.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell is expected to start for the Jets this season and will have a few weeks to recover from the injury. He may only see a limited amount of targets in the passing game with Bilal Powell on the roster but can be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in standard leagues.

Jets | Isaiah Crowell to be busy?

Thu, 02 Aug 2018 18:19:59 -0700

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell is going to be a "big factor" in the offense, in the opinion of Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell should at least handle a lot of the early-down duties, and he has reportedly impressed the coaching staff with his ability as a receiver. He is a low-end RB2 candidate in standard favorites.

Jets | Isaiah Crowell showing off his hands

Wed, 01 Aug 2018 12:30:14 -0700

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell was being used more as a pass catcher in practice Wednesday, Aug. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell is taking advantage of Elijah McGuire (foot) being sidelined at least three to six weeks due to a foot injury. He is still more valuable as an RB2 or 3 in standard formats, and not so much in PPR leagues. However, if he continues to improve as a pass catcher that could potentially change.

Jets | Isaiah Crowell unlikely an every-down back

Thu, 12 Jul 2018 11:22:44 -0700

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell probably will not be an every-down back for the Jets this season even though he believes he can handle the role, in the opinion of the New York Post's Brian Costello. RBs Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire likely will be on the field for passing downs.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell is on track to receive most of the carries this season and should be the team's main running back. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in most standard leagues but will not be as valuable in point-per-reception leagues.

Jets | Isaiah Crowell to bring physicality

Sun, 03 Jun 2018 18:20:31 -0700

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell was called a "pound-it back" by head coach Todd Bowles, and Bowles said Crowell reminds him of a younger version of retired RB Matt Forte.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell should see a lot of the early-down work for the Jets, and there could be enough touches here to support RB3 production.

Jets | Isaiah Crowell financials

Wed, 14 Mar 2018 13:19:21 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell's deal is worth $12 million over three years, with $6 million guaranteed, according to a source. He has a cap hit of $2 million in 2018, then $5 million in both 2019 and 2020. The team could opt out of the deal after the 2018 season.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell joins a backfield which already is inhabited by Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire, so it will be a battle for touches during the summer. The team isn't paying Crowell to sit on the bench, and you can expect he'll have a major role. Consider him a low-end RB2 or flex option with room to improve as he learns the system.

Jets | Isaiah Crowell signing with Jets

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 14:58:31 -0700

Free-agent RB Isaiah Crowell (Browns) is signing a three-year deal with the New York Jets, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: It's a big addition for the Jets, but not one that exactly maximizes Crowell's fantasy value. He'll be splitting time with Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire but should be New York's primary short-yardage and goal-line back. View him as a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3.

Browns | New starting RB expected in Cleveland

Thu, 22 Feb 2018 12:08:12 -0800

Cleveland Browns impending free-agent RB Isaiah Crowell is not expected to be retained. ESPNCleveland.com's Tony Grossi believes the Browns' starting running back in 2018 will be a high draft pick.

Fantasy Tip: Grossi is obviously implying that the Browns will be drafting Saquon Barkley with one of their two top-four draft picks. Assuming that comes to fruition, Duke Johnson will maintain his pass-catching role. Barkley would garner low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 consideration while Johnson would remain in RB2 territory in PPR leagues.
