Dolphins | Seven grabs for Jarvis Landry

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 22:23:15 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry posted seven receptions for 59 yards in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks and he was targeted a team-high 10 times, twice as many as any other teammate.

Fantasy Tip: Landry is the only receiver in Miami that can be trusted from a fantasy perspective. He is a stud in PPR leagues due to his frequency of catches and high targets.

Dolphins | MIA hopes to lighten Jarvis Landry's load

Sat, 06 Aug 2016 12:16:36 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has been an effective kick and punt returner to this point of his career, but the team is hoping to have him focus solely on offense. Miami would like to see rookie WR Jakeem Grant assume both roles so Landry can focus on offense only.

Fantasy Tip: While such a move would not be pleasant news for Landry owners in leagues in which return yards are factored in, the Dolphins are smartly trying to preserve their most proven playmaker in the passing game. Landry is unlikely to match last year's 111 receptions regardless and will be asked to play more often as an outside receiver in head coach Adam Gase's offense, but he still profiles as a strong WR2 in most leagues, especially PPR.

Dolphins | Big season on tap for Jarvis Landry?

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 17:38:30 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry will take his game to "another level" this season, according to head coach Adam Gase, who plans to put Landry in a position to make more big plays.

Fantasy Tip: Landry was already a borderline WR1 in PPR formats, and with Gase determined to bring out the best in him, Landry should be viewed as a WR2 candidate in all leagues.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry working on footwork

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 18:12:35 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has been working out with Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown and New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. in order to develop the footwork and feel to play outside receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Playing on the outside more often could lead to some big plays for Landry, but he should be a solid WR2 even if he remains in the slot and a borderline WR1 in PPR leagues.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry could still be returner

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 15:54:34 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry will continue to be the team's kick returner if he is the best option for the job, according to special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi.

Fantasy Tip: Landry will have a big role in the passing game in 2016, so the team is looking for other options for their kick and punt returner jobs. He recorded 110 receptions and 1,157 yards in 2015 and should be a starting player in all fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry can improve

Tue, 31 May 2016 08:28:38 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry averaged just 10.5 yards per catch last year, which was ranked 105th in the league out of qualifying receivers. Only 10 of his 110 catches (9%) went for 20 yards or more in 2015. New head coach Adam Gase will try to put Landry in a position to make more big plays this year. Landry also had just four receiving touchdowns last year despite being targeted 165 times in the red zone, which was sixth most in the league. Miami plans to keep Landry fresh by reducing his role on special teams as well. He returned 49 kickoffs and punts in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: Landry broke out in his second season with 110 catches (165 targets) and 1,157 receiving yards. It'll be tough to top that in 2016, but the Dolphins should improve overall on offense and spread the ball around more under Gase. Consider Landry a low-end WR1 or high-end WR2 with much more appeal in PPR leagues.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry probable for Week 17

Fri, 01 Jan 2016 13:34:23 -0800

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 1, and he is listed as probable for the Week 17 game against the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Landry ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) has averaged 10 targets and seven receptions per game this season, and with 104 catches for the year, he continues to show as a second-tier PPR option. FantasyScore players can turn to Landry as a viable option for Week 17, as he projects to be heavily involved in an offense trying to keep pace with New England.
