Atlanta Braves 2B Tommy La Stella is manager Fredi Gonzalez's preferred No. 2 hitter, as opposed to SS Andrelton Simmons.
Fantasy Tip: La Stella's run-scoring potential is higher hitting in the two spot, increasing his fantasy value. Simmons struggles to get on base, so he is better suited lower in the order, where he'll see more RBI opportunities.

Atlanta Braves 2B Tommy La Stella hit .411 (23-for-56) with seven walks, five strikeouts and a .476 on-base percentage in his first 16 games this year and followed that up by going just 3-for-41 (.073) with a .133 on-base percentage in his next 11 games, including five from the leadoff spot. La Stella has gone 5-for-13 with three doubles, a triple, six RBIs, four walks and a .529 on-base percentage since being moved down in the order. La Stella said he went away from his approach during his mini slump, and he's trying to "control the strike zone" by not chasing pitches.
Fantasy Tip: Check to see if anyone in your league dropped La Stella. You could do much worse at the keystone in terms of fantasy production. La Stella isn't much of a power threat, but his knowledge of the strike zone and contact-oriented approach will help in other categories, mainly on-base percentage.

Atlanta Braves 2B Tommy La Stella is hitting in the leadoff spot in the team's new-look lineup Wednesday, June 18, with OF Jason Heyward moved to the fifth spot against the Philadelphia Phillies. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he may give La Stella a long look in the top spot. La Stella is hitting .364 on the season. OF B.J. Upton and SS Andrelton Simmons are taking the day off.
Fantasy Tip: The move should boost La Stella's value slightly in the run-scoring category as the Braves look to take advantage of his contact and on-base skills. At this point, La Stella should be owned in the majority of leagues.

The Atlanta Braves will be recalling 2B Tommy La Stella from the minors Wednesday, May 28. It's unclear what the corresponding roster move will be, but 2B Dan Uggla will remain on the roster.
Fantasy Tip: La Stella, one of the club's top prospects, should receive consistent playing time at the keystone. He's a polished hacker that makes solid contact, but his power won't impress many folks. Still, he's a decent addition to any NL-only squad, and perhaps he's a solution for a desperate deep mixed team with needs at middle infield.
