|Titans | Zach Mettenberger playing well|
Tue, 25 Aug 2015 10:14:43 -0700
Tennessee Titans backup QB Zach Mettenberger has performed at a high level in training camp and the preseason, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt laughed off a suggestion that the Titans should trade Mettenberger before the season starts. Mettenberger has gone 15-for-20 for 220 yards and two touchdowns with one interception so far in preseason for a passer rating of 122.9.
Fantasy Tip: The Titans are sticking with Marcus Mariota as their starting QB to begin the season, but Mettenberger is proving his worth as Tennessee's backup with a solid preseason. It seems unlikely they'll deal him in the event Mariota is injured or struggles. Mettenberger isn't worth owning in any fantasy leagues.

Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger replaced QB Marcus Mariota early in the second quarter and went 8-for-11 passing for 129 yards with a touchdown and an interception in a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons Friday, Aug. 14.
Fantasy Tip: Unless something happens to Mariota, Mettenberger can be left on the waiver wire to start 2015.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger in better shape|
Fri, 15 May 2015 15:45:55 -0700
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger, who plans to put up a fight for the starting quarterback job with QB Marcus Mariota this summer, said the offseason has treated him well, and he's down to 225 pounds. "Moving a lot quicker, no longer worried about my knee which is a great feeling. But I loved getting a chance to hang out with guys outside of the facility. It was an eye-opening experience to learn what these guys are about," Mettenberger said.
Fantasy Tip: It might take a lot of convincing or even an injury to Mariota for Mettenberger to unseat him as the expected starter going into Week 1. Because of that, Mettenberger should have zero fantasy appeal in drafts this fall. Mariota will be a weak QB2 that will put up numbers purely on his athleticism alone, but the growing pains figure to outweight the positive in his rookie campaign.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger to fight for job|
Tue, 05 May 2015 10:56:09 -0700
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger, who is now the backup quarterback to QB Marcus Mariota, did not demand a trade and is adamant about going to training camp with a chance to compete against Mariota for the starting job, according to OT Taylor Lewan. Mettenberger took part in the team's voluntary workout program last Friday and Monday, May 4. Mettenberger was 0-6 in his starts last year as a rookie and threw for 1,412 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Lewan also said Mettenberger lost around 15 pounds this offseason and looks leaner and stronger.
Fantasy Tip: While Mettenberger isn't giving up and could wind up winning the job, it's all in the hands of Mariota now. It's his job to lose heading into Week 1, so Mettenberger won't be a viable fantasy option in fall drafts unless something drastic happens to Mariota.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger wants to compete|
Fri, 01 May 2015 11:20:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger may receive the chance to compete for the job, but Mariota should be seen as the leading candidate at this time. Owners should watch the competition during training camp, but Mettenberger will not have any fantasy value if he is not the starter.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger may want trade|
Thu, 30 Apr 2015 17:32:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger could be traded if the Titans are able to find a solid offer, but he likely will compete for the starting job if he remains with the Titans. Mettenberger likely would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts for a team in 2015.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger won't be traded|
Wed, 29 Apr 2015 01:04:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger will likely be a backup behind Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota, whichever QB falls to the Titans. Even if the Titans go in another direction and don't draft a quarterback, Mettenberger hasn't proven he can be much more than a competent backup.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger receives praise|
Mon, 20 Apr 2015 14:38:30 -0700
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger was applauded by TE Delanie Walker for recently organizing practice sessions. Walker said he's excited about Mettenberger showing leadership and initiative, adding that Mettenberger could be the franchise quarterback the Titans need.
Fantasy Tip: It's one thing to show leadership, it's another to win games. Mettenberger still has a lot to prove before he's worthy of being considered a franchise quarterback or a starting fantasy quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger is currently considered the starting quarterback for the Titans, but it is not known if the team will add a quarterback during the draft. Mettenberger played well at times this past season but likely will not be more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback most weeks.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger the next Tom Brady?|
Sun, 12 Apr 2015 19:03:48 -0700
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger is viewed as the steal of the 2014 NFL Draft by head coach Ken Whisenhunt and general manager Ruston Webster, and they view him as a poor man's version of New England Patriots QB Tom Brady.
Fantasy Tip: While the confidence the front office apparently has in Mettenberger could cause the Titans to pass on a quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Mettenberger still has a lot to prove on the field before he is worth owning in fantasy leagues.
