Packers | QB happy with Jared Abbrederis

Sun, 14 Aug 2016 08:30:17 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jared Abbrederis has been performing well during training camp and has shown good route-running abilities, according to QB Aaron Rodgers. "He's a guy that has phenomenal preparation. He's always in the right spot, he has incredible body movements when it comes to not telegraphing routes, and he just finds a way to get open all the time. So, he's continued where he left off last year and had a phenomenal camp," Rodgers said.

Fantasy Tip: Abbrederis has received more work during training camp because of injuries at the position and appears to have a decent chance to make the team. He probably would be the No. 4 receiver but could compete for the No. 3 receiver job during the final three preseason games. He probably can be avoided in most drafts but could be a late-round option in deeper leagues if he makes the team.

Packers | Jared Abbrederis making plays in camp

Sun, 31 Jul 2016 14:33:35 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jared Abbrederis has impressed in camp while WR Davante Adams and WR Jeff Janis have been quiet in the early going.

Fantasy Tip: Abbrederis has been limited to nine games through two pro seasons due to injuries and probably needs both Janis and Adams to remain unimpressive in order to take over the No. 3 role behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. The odds are long that will actually happen, but it is a possibility and the third receiver role has typically been an underrated source of fantasy production in Green Bay. Abbrederis should go undrafted in most leagues, but he's worth monitoring during the preseason just in case.

Packers | Jared Abbrederis praised by coach

Wed, 13 Jul 2016 21:16:19 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jared Abbrederis managed to grab just nine receptions in the regular season, but he stepped up in the postseason due to injuries. He had six catches in the playoffs. "I think Jared's had his best offseason," head coach Mike McCarthy said last month. "I think his route running is exemplary for a young guy. His ability to recognize coverages, and his time clock, his breaking points, his ability to drop his weight. Just all the specifics and details and techniques of route running, I think he's exceptional."

Fantasy Tip: Abbrederis will be fighting with Jeff Janis, Davante Adams and Ty Montgomery, among others, for targets behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. It might take an injury or two to open things up for the middle and bottom of the depth chart before Abbrederis has fantasy appeal outside of the deepest of leagues.
