Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews, who had seven catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 10 win with QB Mark Sanchez starting, developed some nice chemistry with Sanchez in training camp this year. Sanchez may have completed more passes to Mathews than any other player in camp while working with the second-team offense. Sanchez immediately found Matthews for a touchdown when he relieved QB Nick Foles in Week 8 because of an injury, too.
"Of course we had something going on in camp," Matthews said. "We kind of had to. We were both on the second team at the time. So, I took the majority of the reps with him. After practice, I made sure I got extra reps with him. I knew that if I wanted to break into the lineup, I had to look good with the second-team first. That was definitely a point of emphasis for me back then. We continued to have a great relationship. I started building one with Nick (Foles), but now it's Mark's opportunity, so I have to go out and make plays for him."
Fantasy Tip: So, Matthews has five touchdowns on the season, and Sanchez has tossed him three of those. There is definitely some strong chemistry between these two, and it shouldn't go unnoticed. Matthews could be peaking at the right time for his fantasy owners as we near the playoffs. He could be a good candidate to buy right now.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez threw for 332 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 10 win over the Carolina Panthers Monday, Nov. 10, in his first start since Dec. 30, 2012. WR Jordan Matthews had 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and RB Darren Sproles had an eight-yard touchdown run and a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown.
Fantasy Tip: Sanchez didn't look the the quarterback that we all came to know when he was with the New York Jets. Perhaps he can excel in the long run in Chip Kelly's system. Regardless, he should be a popular waiver wire acquisition this week, and he could put up a similar performance in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (oblique) practiced in full Friday, Sept. 26, and is probable for Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews stands 6-foot-3, and had a pair of touchdowns in Week 3 against the Washington Redskins. Head coach Chip Kelly likes his size, and looks forward to the future. "We wanted to get bigger at the wide receiver spot, especially in the slot," Kelly said Wednesday, Sept. 24. "Thought it would create some good matchups for us, and it's paying off for us." In the slot, Matthews will be matched against San Francisco 49ers CB Jimmie Ward, who is 5-foot-10.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews emerged as a solid fantasy option last weekend, and he could be a solid WR3/4 or flex play in most leagues this weekend. In FantasyScore, he costs just $6000 (or 12 percent of your salary cap), making him an intriguing mid-level option.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews is now officially ahead of WR Brad Smith as the No. 3 wide receiver on the depth chart.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews hauled in nine catches for 104 yards in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 15, against the New England Patriots. He converted all nine of his targets.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews is expected to be the team's top slot receiver, and he certainly looked better than a rookie in this one. Target Matthews as a WR3/4 or flex fantasy option with some upside on draft day. In dynasty formats, he is a must-have.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews mixed in with the first-team in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 15, against the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews is expected to be the top slot wideout this season, and he will be a solid WR3/4 or flex play in most fantasy formats, perhaps more so if Jeremy Maclin (knee) and Riley Cooper (foot) cannot stay healthy.
Thu, 14 Aug 2014 07:43:42 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin (hamstring) is out of practice Thursday, Aug. 14, and is unlikely to play in the second preseason game Friday, Aug. 15.
Fantasy Tip: Maclin's injury isn't considered serious. His absence should give Jordan Matthews another chance to impress the team after a disappointing showing in the first game. Maclin is a solid WR3. Matthews is a WR5 with upside if he wins the slot role.
Sun, 10 Aug 2014 23:25:14 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews caught only four passes for 14 yards in the team's first preseason game, prompting coach Chip Kelly to express disappointment. "I thought he was just inconsistent," Kelly said. "I don't know if he was pressing or whatever. But there were some inconsistencies there. Some guys, it's the first time in the bright lights. [They] get the chance to get that out of the system, get a deep breath."
Tue, 05 Aug 2014 15:51:40 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR Jordan Matthews has received praise from RB LeSean McCoy during training camp. Six wideouts in this year's draft were selected ahead of Matthews. "That rookie we got, Matthews, is looking real good. There's been a lot of talk about this draft class being deep at wide receivers, but I'm real confident in this one being the best of the class," McCoy said. "It's still early, you got to go through the season and see how he does, but he looks amazing." Matthews worked with the first-team offense Tuesday, Aug. 5, and hauled in a few catches.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews is receiving some valuable repetitions with the first-team this week with Jeremy Maclin (legs) and Riley Cooper (foot) beat up. Matthews is surely worth a late-round flier in standard leagues, and he'll likely be a good value pick in daily games early in the season.
Tue, 05 Aug 2014 06:27:25 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews is listed as the fourth receiver, with WR Brad Smith as the slot receiver, on the first depth chart released by the team.
Fantasy Tip: There aren't many people that expect Smith to hold off Matthews. Matthews is a good late-round flier as a WR5.
Mon, 14 Jul 2014 12:12:05 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR Jordan Matthews was recently praised by wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell, who said Matthews has looked very good, is physical and has a good feel for what he wants to do.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews has built a lot of hype this offseason. He still figures to be the team's No. 3 wide receiver behind Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin. Head coach Chip Kelly said he expects Matthews to be their primary slot receiver. It's best not to get ahead of ourselves with Matthews at this point. Consider him a WR4 with WR3 upside in standard leagues.
Wed, 02 Jul 2014 10:52:41 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR Jordan Matthews recently said he's getting more comfortable with his duties and his transition to the NFL. He also admitted he needs to continue to get better.
Fantasy Tip: It has been rumored that Matthews will assume the slot position with Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin playing outside. Matthews is one of the more intriguing rookies for fantasy this year. He should be drafted as a WR4/WR5 with WR3 upside.

Tue, 17 Jun 2014 19:23:51 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews seems to be the early favorite for the slot wide receiver position with the team this year. He is competing with WR Josh Huff. "Matthews is a big, physical, athletic guy that is going to I think do really well. I love his attitude. He's been a great teammate," QB Nick Foles said.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews has a chance to thrive in Chip Kelly's fast-paced offense, and he'll definitely fly under the radar in drafts this year. Riley Cooper has only proven he can produce in one season and Jeremy Maclin is coming off a serious knee injury. There is room for him to move up in the pecking order if the top two options are failing.
Sat, 14 Jun 2014 07:24:48 -0700

Fri, 09 May 2014 17:02:16 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles traded up and selected Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews with the 42nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews is a start in the quest to replace DeSean Jackson in the passing game. He's a big, physical receiver that will give Philly a new dimension to their offense. Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper are the top two receivers, though, so Matthews will have to battle for PT behind them.
