Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR Jordan Matthews was recently praised by wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell, who said Matthews has looked very good, is physical and has a good feel for what he wants to do.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews has built a lot of hype this offseason. He still figures to be the team's No. 3 wide receiver behind Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin. Head coach Chip Kelly said he expects Matthews to be their primary slot receiver. It's best not to get ahead of ourselves with Matthews at this point. Consider him a WR4 with WR3 upside in standard leagues.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews seems to be the early favorite for the slot wide receiver position with the team this year. He is competing with WR Josh Huff. "Matthews is a big, physical, athletic guy that is going to I think do really well. I love his attitude. He's been a great teammate," QB Nick Foles said.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews has a chance to thrive in Chip Kelly's fast-paced offense, and he'll definitely fly under the radar in drafts this year. Riley Cooper has only proven he can produce in one season and Jeremy Maclin is coming off a serious knee injury. There is room for him to move up in the pecking order if the top two options are failing.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews has been very impressive during offseason workouts so far, although he has been running with the second-team offense. Matthews has been working hard, showing up to the facility early, and head coach Chip Kelly said Matthews' love for getting in early to study film was one of the reasons the team had to have him in the draft.

The Philadelphia Eagles traded up and selected Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews with the 42nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews is a start in the quest to replace DeSean Jackson in the passing game. He's a big, physical receiver that will give Philly a new dimension to their offense. Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper are the top two receivers, though, so Matthews will have to battle for PT behind them.

According to a poll of 17 NFL personnel men, Clemson WR Sammy Watkins received 15 votes as the top wide receiver of the 2014 NFL Draft class. He was followed by Texas A&M WR Mike Evans, Louisiana State WR Odell Beckham (he received the other two top votes), Oregon State WR Brandin Cooks, Southern California WR Marqise Lee and Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews. From a subjective list of the top 14 wide receivers, only Matthews was a senior.

Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews took part in all drills at the NFL Scouting Combine, and was listed as a top performer in the bench press of 225 pounds with 21 reps. He also posted an official time of 4.46 seconds in the 40-yard dash, a 35 1/2 inch vertical leap, a broad jump of 10-foot-0, a time of 6.95 seconds in the three-cone drill, a time of 4.18 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle and a time of 11.84 seconds in the 60-yard shuttle.
