Rams | Odell Beckham won't be going to Rams

Wed, 04 Apr 2018 05:01:40 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. had interest from the Los Angeles Rams, but the combination of trade compensation and a future extension made the price exorbitant. There were never serious negotiations between the clubs.

Fantasy Tip: OBJ could still land on a different team before the season, and one would think he'd have more upside on another team. Either way, he'll be a high-end WR1 in fantasy.

Giants | Odell Beckham trade talks 'very real'

Mon, 02 Apr 2018 23:22:17 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. could end up being dealt after all, as Adam Schefter of ESPN believes the trade discussions are "very real, absolutely real." He added that his "personal guess" is that Beckham indeed gets traded.

Fantasy Tip: While Beckham will carry an immensely high price tag, both in the form of early draft picks and a long-term contract extension, he's probably one of the few players that commands such a large haul in a trade. The former LSU star was limited to just four games last season but has posted monstrous numbers since entering the league in 2014. He's the only wide-out in NFL history to record at least 80 catches and 1,000 yards in each of his first three years.

Tue, 27 Mar 2018 14:18:15 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. is not on the trading block, officially, according to owner John Mara.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham's off-field antics have caused unwanted attention for the Giants organization, but that doesn't mean they're going to trade one of the best players in the league. Beckham is an elite talent and an elite fantasy player who deserves first-round consideration no matter what jersey he's wearing.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has drawn trade interest from the Los Angeles Rams. Beckham recently said he would hold out until he receives a new contract from either the Giants or another team.

Fantasy Tip: It's difficult to see any trade involving Beckham gaining much steam, but if the right price is offered then who knows. The bottom line is that Beckham is an elite fantasy wide receiver no matter who he's playing for.

Giants | Odell Beckham wants $20 million annually

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 20:25:41 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. "has told some people" that he would like to make at least $20 million per year on his next contract. He's entering the final season of his current deal in 2018.

Fantasy Tip: That's a lot of money for a wide receiver, and if he were to get that desired number, he'd be making more than some quarterbacks. Perhaps it is deserved, though, as Beckham is as talented as anyone at his position, even being the first wide-out in history to record at least 80 catches and 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons. Despite missing most of his fourth campaign in 2017, Beckham should be one of the first wide receivers taken in drafts everywhere, especially in a contract year.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) said he is doing well in his rehab from his ankle injury and expects to be ready for the start of the 2018 season.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham probably will not do much during offseason workouts and is focused on preparing for the 2018 season. He is one of the best receivers in the NFL when he is healthy and should be a No. 1 fantasy receiver in leagues next season.

Giants | Odell Beckham hopes to get extension

Sun, 04 Feb 2018 10:39:45 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. said he hopes to receive a contract extension this offseason so he does not have to worry about the situation. "Hopefully we get it done, just to get it over with," Beckham said. "I really want to do it so I can move past it. It's too much to be sitting around, thinking where I'm going to be."

Fantasy Tip: Beckham is coming off a season-ending injury but should be fine for the start of the 2018 season. He has been one of the top receivers in the NFL since he was drafted and can be a No. 1 fantasy receiver in all leagues.

Fri, 19 Jan 2018 19:27:31 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will thrive if Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur becomes the next head coach of the Giants as expected, according to WR Stefon Diggs, "because Pat knows how to get people the ball."

Fantasy Tip: Ankle issues derailed Beckham in 2017, but he should return to his WR1 status in 2018. Prior to last year, he had delivered three straight seasons of more than 1,300 yards and at least 10 touchdowns.

Giants | Odell Beckham's future not secured?

Mon, 04 Dec 2017 11:47:40 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to be a part of the Giants' future, but owner John Mara said he would discuss that with the new general manager and head coach.

Fantasy Tip: The fact that there's any doubt at all about Beckham's future in New York is unusual since he's one of the best wide receivers in the league. He's set to be a free agent in 2019, so next season would be a contract year for the star receiver.

Giants | Offense far from same sans Odell Beckham

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 11:39:45 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr.'s (ankle) impact on the Giants' offense cannot be understated. When he played this year the Giants averaged 23.0 points per game. In the four games he has missed they have averaged 10.8 points per game.

Fantasy Tip: The Giants are in a state of turmoil in regards to their offense, and their whole team really. Evan Engram and Orleans Darkwa have been the only bright spots since Beckham and Brandon Marshall were lost; although, Sterling Shepard will be back and relevant again following New York's bye.

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 11:18:53 -0700

Updating previous reports, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) will miss the rest of the season with a fractured ankle, according to head coach Ben McAdoo.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham is expected to make a full recovery. While McAdoo did not provide a timeline during his conference call, the receiver should be ready for the start of training camp next season, if not offseason workouts. Sterling Shepard will probably take over the lead role in the New York passing attack, while Evan Engram and Roger Lewis Jr. could be asked to take on larger roles assuming Brandon Marshall's ankle injury results in a multi-week absence. Beckham is obviously safe to drop in all redraft leagues.

Giants | Odell Beckham to have surgery this week

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 10:53:44 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) will have surgery on his fractured ankle this week, although the team has yet to announce an exact date. The Giants also have yet to say whether or not Beckham will miss the rest of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham will almost certainly be placed on the Reserve/Injured list at the very least, which will cause him to miss the next eight weeks - a move which would put him out until Week 14 - so he can probably be dropped in all leagues without an IR spot. Of all the Giants' receivers to get injured in Week 5, Sterling Shepard's ankle appears to be the least serious. There's a good chance he and Roger Lewis Jr. will be starting in Week 6 in a dreadful matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Giants | Odell Beckham has broken fibula

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 14:16:34 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (leg) suffered a broken left fibula in the Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, sources said Sunday, Oct. 8. It's uncertain if there is any ligament damage, and the receiver will have an MRI on Monday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Plenty of big-name fantasy players have gone down to injury, and Beckham joins the unfortunate list. It sounds like the type of injury which would end his season, but we'll wait for official word from the team before making that determination. The Giants also lost Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and Dwayne Harris to injuries. Evan Engram and Roger Lewis might be the players to target off the waiver wire heading into Week 6.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (leg) suffered an apparent lower right leg injury in the fourth quarter of the Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham was crying and in obvious pain before being helped onto the cart. He was taken to the locker room. When we know further details we'll pass them along. Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard were also injured earlier in the game, so tough day for Big Blue.

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 13:20:29 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle, finger) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham appears to have a good chance to play in Week 5 even though he is dealing with multiple injuries. He has been targeted 28 times over the last two weeks and should be a No. 1 wide receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Giants | NYG's starting receivers limited Wednesday

Wed, 04 Oct 2017 11:15:07 -0700

New York Giants WRs Odell Beckham Jr. (finger, ankle) and Brandon Marshall (toe) took part in a limited practice Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Both receivers have seen their production increase over the last two weeks as the Giants have cut down the amount of time Eli Manning is holding the ball, but it's a short-term solution to a long-term problem. The shift works fine for Beckham since he gets open so quickly and can create after the catch, but Marshall's eight yards per reception on his 14 scoreless catches over the last two weeks isn't exactly moving the needle. Beckham remains a WR1 for fantasy purposes, while Marshall is a WR4.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. was fined $12,154 by the National Football League for unsportsmanlike conduct during Week 3's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles. Beckham pretended to be a dog urinating after scoring the first of his two touchdowns in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham looked like his old self in Week 3's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, with nine catches for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Owners who were concerned about his recent ankle problems should start him with no reservations in all fantasy formats.

Giants | Odell Beckham fastest to 300 career catches

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. became the fastest player in NFL history to accumulate 300 career catches Sunday, Sept. 24, needing just 45 games to do so.

Fantasy Tip: After an inauspicious start to his campaign, Beckham reminded his owners why he's one of the best receivers in the league, posting nine catches on 13 targets for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his most recent effort. Considering his freakish ability and outstanding track record, there's no question Beckham should continue to tug along as one of the true elite WR1 options out there.

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 16:33:59 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. racked up nine receptions for 79 yards and two touchdowns on a game-high 13 targets.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham had a very ordinary 36 yards on four receptions in his first game back on Monday, but he was back to his old self in this one. It appears he is over his ankle injury and it's no longer a concern for his fantasy owners heading into Week 4 in Tampa against a Bucs pass defense torched by Stefon Diggs on Sunday.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 22, but is not on the injury report for Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham is still dealing with the injury but will be on the field against the Philadelphia Eagles this week. New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) said he has experienced zero setbacks with his injured ankle after playing in Week 2, and he expects to play more against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3.

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 11:29:57 -0700

New York Giants Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) was limited in practice again Thursday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham played last week, so it would be a surprise not to see him suit up this week. The question is how involved in the game plan will he be? Either way, start him as long as he's active, especially against a hurting Philadelphia Eagles secondary.
