Giants | Eli Manning, Odell Beckham to play

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 12:24:33 -0700

New York Giants QB Eli Manning, WR Odell Beckham Jr. and most of the other offensive starters are expected to play a series or two in the preseason finale against the New England Patriots Thursday, Sept. 3, as head coach Tom Coughlin wants to see the unit click before the regular season opener. WR Victor Cruz (calf) will not play.

Fantasy Tip: Not much can be gleaned from a series or two for the Giants offensive starters against a likely backup defensive unit for New England. Beckham became a star last year and you'll likely have to pay a first- or second-round price for him in fantasy drafts. Manning, with more weapons than maybe he's ever had before, could be a sneaky QB2 this year.

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 16:05:25 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has not caught a pass in the first two preseason games but is not worried about his lack of production.

Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (teeth) missed practice Wednesday, Aug. 19, because of dental work. He will return to practice Thursday, Aug. 20.

Fantasy Tip: This is far from a hamstring aggravation or anything serious. Beckham remains one of the top fantasy wide receiver options and should be taken in the late-first or early-second round.

Giants | Odell Beckham not practicing

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 15:03:34 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (undisclosed) is not practicing Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: This could just be Beckham resting because of his hamstring issues, or it could be something else. This may need to be monitored, but if Beckham practices tomorrow then there won't be anything to worry about. He should continue to be in the WR1 conversation.

Giants | Odell Beckham should play

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 14:48:34 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) should be able to play in the first preseason game Friday Aug, 14, as head coach Tom Coughlin said he doesn't see any reason why he won't.

Fantasy Tip: Coughlin doesn't appear to be too concerned with Beckham's hamstring issue. Of course, Beckham probably won't see a lot of repetitions in the game, but it will be good for him to test his hamstring in competitive play. He's still worth drafting as a WR1.

Giants | Odell Beckham will be limited

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 11:53:46 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) will travel with the team for their practices and preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but he will continue to be limited during practice.

Fantasy Tip: The team is being cautious with Beckham since he dealt with a hamstring injury last season. He probably does not need many preseason reps in order to prepare for the season. Beckham likely will be selected in one of the first two rounds of drafts this season if he is healthy.

Giants | Odell Beckham to be eased in

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 14:49:35 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) will be eased into training camp as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury. Beckham recently said the hamstring feels better than it did earlier this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The Giants don't want Beckham missing the first part of the season again, or any part for that matter. Beckham is arguably the Giants' most important player, so he'll have as much time as he needs to get back to full strength. He has top-tier WR1 potential gain in 2015.

Giants | Odell Beckham runs at minicamp

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 12:53:08 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) did some light running on the sideline during minicamp Tuesday, June 16.

Fantasy Tip: The Giants are taking their time with Beckham's recovery, which is understandable since he missed the beginning of last season with a hamstring injury. This injury is not the same hamstring, however, which is somewhat encouraging. Continue to monitor Beckham's status heading into training camp.

Giants | Odell Beckham continues to nurse injury

Mon, 08 Jun 2015 14:27:46 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) missed organized team activities again Monday, June 8, as he continues to deal with a right hamstring injury. Head coach Tom Coughlin did not say whether or not Beckham would be able to participate in minicamp next week.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham and the Giants seem to be taking an extra cautious approach with this injury after Beckham missed the first four games of last season with a nagging hamstring issue. New York will be smart to take their time with Beckham's recovery. At full health, Beckham could be the top scoring fantasy wide receiver in 2015.

Giants | Odell Beckham working on side

Mon, 08 Jun 2015 08:51:00 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) is working on the sidelines in practice Monday, June 8.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham has been bothered by hamstring issues throughout his young, yet brilliant career. He's a very high-risk, high-reward player in 2015 that is ideally a low-end WR1, but he probably won't last that long in drafts.

Giants | Odell Beckham injury not as serious

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 15:39:12 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr.'s (hamstring) injury to his hamstring is not on the same hamstring he injured last offseason. Beckham himself said the injuries can't even be compared. Beckham has recently been limited at organized team activities for precautionary reasons.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham took the league by storm when he returned from his injury last season, en route to 91 catches, 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games. He's a candidate for the No. 1 overall fantasy wide receiver as long as he stays healthy.

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 10:28:48 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) was limited during organized team activities Monday, June 1, because of hamstring soreness. Head coach Tom Coughlin said holding Beckham out was precautionary.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham does not need to push things during the offseason and should be fine if he receives a few days off. Beckham likely will be one of the first few receivers selected in drafts this upcoming season and likely will be selected in one of the first few rounds.

Fri, 29 May 2015 15:12:00 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. said he expects to receive more attention from defenses this upcoming season but does not think it will work since the team has a lot of offensive weapons.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham was one of the breakout players last season and likely will be one of the top receivers in drafts this season. Beckham likely will be selected in one of the first few rounds in all drafts.

Giants | NYG receivers catch endorsement

Wed, 20 May 2015 18:18:20 -0700

New York Giants WRs Odell Beckham Jr., Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle all received strong endorsements from ex-Giants WR Stephen Baker Tuesday, May 19. "I think [the Giants offense] will be a matchup nightmare, and I love the diversity of the receivers," said Baker. "You've got little Cruz, who can shake and bake in the middle, then you've got Beckham on the outside, who's just explosive, and then you have Randle, I consider him a smooth receiver, when he catches a pass, he just looks smooth. I like him as a third down possession-type guy," Baker said.

Fantasy Tip: With the vast majority of fantasy owners enamored by Beckham Jr., Cruz and Randle will be available at huge discounts following disappointing seasons. Beckham Jr. will be drawing the focus of opposing defenses, leaving plenty of room for his fellow wideouts to operate.

Giants | Was Odell Beckham Jr. hurt?

Sun, 22 Feb 2015 23:47:59 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr., who claimed he played part of the season with two torn hamstrings, had his claim questioned by Giants general manager Jerry Reese. "I don't know about that," Reese said. "I think he's trying to be a hero. I don't think you can play with two [tears in your] hamstring and run fast like that. I think our doctors would've caught that."

Fantasy Tip: Reese went on to say Beckham would not have been played in the Pro Bowl had his hamstrings been both torn. Why Beckham is making this claim is a mystery, but it doesn't remove the fact Beckham had a solid rookie season. He is a strong wide receiver option for 2015 fantasy leagues.

Giants | Odell Beckham to rest this offseason

Mon, 26 Jan 2015 10:45:20 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) said he'll need to shut himself down this offseason in order to enter 2015 fully healthy and in great shape. He said he had tears to his semitendinosus and bicep belly of his hamstring this season. "It's still not right, I'm still working on it," Beckham said. "I'm trying to get it 100 percent for next year."

Fantasy Tip: Beckham was spectacular in his rookie season in just 12 games. The hype surrounding his amazing acrobatical catches alone will likely raise his draft value to insane levels. Beckham is a special talent and will be very valuable for his fantasy owners, but be careful not to overvalue him with the rest of the overzealous drafters in 2015.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) said he played this season with two tears in his right hamstring, which never fully healed.

Giants | More records for Odell Beckham

Sun, 21 Dec 2014 18:11:39 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. posted eight receptions for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Week 16 game against the St. Louis Rams. He set a franchise rookie record with his 10th and 11th touchdown grabs, and he shattered another rookie mark for receptions while topping 1,000 yards. Beckham has had at least 90 yards receiving in eight consecutive games and could tie the NFL record of nine straight by Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Irvin in 1995.

Fantasy Tip: ODB has emerged as a must-start in all fantasy formats every week, regardless of matchup. Imagine how amazing his statistics would look if his season started on time rather than missing a huge chunk due to a hamstring injury.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. posted 12 receptions for 143 yards and three touchdowns in Week 15 against the Washington Redskins. He now holds the franchise rookie receiving yards record with two games to play.

Fantasy Tip: ODB single-handedly helped fantasy owners in seasonal leagues to playoff victories, and FantasyScore owners were treated to big points as well. The rookie continues to produce.

Giants | Odell Beckham Jr. historically great

Sat, 13 Dec 2014 23:44:55 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has at least 90 receiving yards in six consecutive games, which is an NFL record. He tied Bill Groman (1960) as the only NFL rookies to top 700 receiving yards in a six-game stretch.

Fantasy Tip: While there really isn't much of an actionable fantasy tip here, Beckham's torrid pace deserves a call-out for its historic relevance. Make sure to start him in all formats and on FantasyScore in Week 15.

Giants | Busy stretch for Odell Beckham Jr.

Sat, 13 Dec 2014 19:59:00 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has averaged 11.5 targets over the last four weeks, and he ranks sixth in the NFL in the category during the span.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) has become the main weapon in the team's passing attack, and he should make a strong play at FantasyScore in Week 15 when the Giants take on a Washington defense that has allowed the third-most passing touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham Jr. has easily risen to WR1 status in weekly fantasy leagues, and he is a fabulous option in FantasyScore down the stretch.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. was praised by QB Eli Manning following Sunday night's performance against the Dallas Cowboys. Manning said Beckham has explosiveness and speed coming out of breaks. Manning also lauded Beckham's catching ability, route-running and being able to stop on a dime.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham Jr. is proving to be one of the more talented, young receivers in the league, worthy of starting every week in any scoring format. He draws a subpar Jacksonville Jaguars defense this week that was giving up 180 yards per game to wide receivers before Week 12.

Giants | Odell Beckham praised by Richard Sherman

Mon, 10 Nov 2014 10:24:53 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. had a game-high seven catches for 108 yards in the team's Week 10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and he was covered by CB Richard Sherman for most of the game. "Beckham is a great player," Sherman said. "So they had to depend on him and take risks and take shots in games like this. He was able to get one earlier, which was a great play by him."

Fantasy Tip: Beckham is the real deal, folks. His performance against Sherman and the Seahawks shows that he has basically become a must-start in standard fantasy leagues. Manning isn't afraid to go to the rookie often now, making him a very good play at FantasyScore, as well.

Giants | Odell Beckham shines in loss

Tue, 04 Nov 2014 10:54:10 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. had his first 100-yard receiving game in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts Monday, Nov. 3, with eight catches for 156 yards. He had just one catch for 19 yards in the second half, though, and much of his damage came with the game well out of hand. "It's still kind of just getting there right now," Beckham said. "I'm doing the best I can to maintain what I've gone through already, but I wouldn't say that it's all the way there yet. It's still a work in progress." Beckham missed all of the preseason and the first four games of the year due to a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham continues to display his freakish athleticism and great hands. His ceiling is incredibly high for fantasy owners as he gets acclimated to the offense and gets his legs under him. He should be considered at least a WR3 for the remainder of the season.

Giants | Odell Beckham could move around

Wed, 22 Oct 2014 21:57:55 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. might be moved around over the final nine games, according to receivers coach Sean Ryan. He said Wednesday, Oct. 22, that he envisions moving Beckham around so teams cannot just key on the young playmaker, and the belief is that Beckham's skills will play well in the slot. The only thing that may prevent the team from moving him inside is that they don't want "to overload him."

Fantasy Tip: Whatever role he fulfills down the stretch, it is certain he will have a bigger role with Cruz done for the season. Beckham is still a pretty decent bargain at $5,300 (or 10.6 percent of the cap) in FantasyScore.

Giants | Giants comfortable with WR options

Tue, 14 Oct 2014 10:07:20 -0700

New York Giants WRs Rueben Randle and Odell Beckham Jr. are acceptable options to replace WR Victor Cruz (knee), according to head coach Tom Coughlin, with WR Preston Parker in the slot position. The Giants are content in not trading for another receiver from outside the organization. The only other healthy receiver on the current roster is WR Corey Washington.

Fantasy Tip: Randle, Beckham and Parker will see increased opportunities in the offense moving forward with Cruz out for the season. That'll boost their values, but there could be growing pains with these young receivers as they're given more attention from opponents.

Giants | Odell Beckham could play the slot

Mon, 13 Oct 2014 13:06:08 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. could move to the slot with WR Victor Cruz (knee) out for the season, but Beckham has never played the position. WR Preston Parker filled in in the slot in Week 6 when Cruz was injured, and he can play on the outside, too. WR Corey Washington has worked exclusively on the outside and could see some more opportunities in the offense with Cruz out.

Fantasy Tip: After a fine season debut in Week 5, Beckham had just two catches (four targets) for 28 yards in the Week 6 loss. He'll have his ups and downs, especially if he moves to the slot to learn a new position. All of the Giants receivers will see a boost in value with Cruz out, and Parker is worth a look on the waiver wire in deeper leagues.

Giants | Odell Beckham quickly ascends

Fri, 10 Oct 2014 19:03:18 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) was eased back in his regular season debut in Week 5, coming off the bench behind WR Preston Parker. However, he played a major role as the No. 3 receiver in the second half, and he posted his first touchdown. He played 35 of 68 snaps (51.5 percent), and that role is expected to grow moving forward.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham was a great daily fantasy value last weekend, and he will be solid mid-level daily option going forward in the No. 3 receiver role.

Giants | Odell Beckham to be used more?

Fri, 10 Oct 2014 13:41:24 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. played 35 of 68 offensive snaps in his NFL debut in Week 5, and that figure is expected to increase moving forward. He sat behind WR Preston Parker in the first half against the Atlanta Falcons, but then played a huge role as the No. 3 receiver in the second half with the team trailing. Beckham showed great athleticism and scored a touchdown in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham's ceiling is very high for his fantasy owners. His matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night is very enticing, too. Beckham could put up impressive numbers for a second straight week.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) had four receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons in his team debut.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham missed the first month of the season due to a hamstring injury, and was the last first-round pick of the 2014 NFL Draft to make his season debut. He was a steal in FantasyScore this week, but his salary is likely to increase significantly heading into the next game following his score.

Fri, 03 Oct 2014 12:26:48 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons, and he thinks he will play. If he plays, he's expected to be the No. 3 receiver behind WRs Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle. The Giants have been featuring many three receiver sets this year. Beckham could also return punts, but he's unsure what his role will be against the Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Folks had high hopes for Beckham in his rookie season, but he has yet to play a game. If he suits up, temper your expectations in what could feature plenty of the G-Men's running game.

Giants | Confident in Odell Beckham

Wed, 01 Oct 2014 19:19:42 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) has the confidence of his head coach Tom Coughlin, should the rookie be active in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons. Coughlin said Beckham will be in the game plan this week. "We're in that phase. What we obviously need to do is to see some hard back-to-back practices, one after the other, which I expect we'll accomplish this week," Coughlin said Wednesday, Oct. 1. Coughlin said if the rookie plays, he has full confidence despite the fact he has missed practice time.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham was an explosive receiver at LSU, and he has the chance to be a nice downfield weapon for Eli Manning on a team looking for another play maker. Fantasy owners with some roster flexibility would be wise to stash Beckham for the long haul.

Giants | Odell Beckham may play

Wed, 01 Oct 2014 14:11:44 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) will be a part of the game plan heading into the team's Week 5 game. Beckham did everything in practice Wednesday, Oct. 1, even though he was listed as a limited participant. "I feel good," Beckham said. "Just looking forward to that opportunity, and getting a chance to finally run out on the field."

Fantasy Tip: While it may be tempting to put Beckham into your FantasyScore lineup if he plays because of his reasonable price, you may be better served to show some patience with Beckham. He has not taken any snaps in a game in the new offense and may need some time to get up to speed.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 1.
