Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:15:55 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Rusney Castillo was recalled from Class AAA Pawtucket Monday, July 27. Castillo will start in right field Monday and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Castillo ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) could see a good amount of playing time while he is with the Red Sox and could become a part of a platoon in right field initially. Owners could consider Castillo as a starting option on FantasyScore if he receives regular playing time.

Red Sox | Rusney Castillo sitting vs. Braves

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 14:10:20 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Rusney Castillo is not in the starting lineup against the Atlanta Braves Monday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Like most of the Boston bats, Castillo ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is struggling to gain traction at the plate. He has a struck out nine times over his last 41 plate appearances with just four runs, a home run, four RBI and a .256/.293/.359 slash line. During the stretch, he also has a .310 BABIP, so it isn't like he is on the wrong side of luck, either. Seasonal owners should remain patient, though.

Red Sox | Rusney Castillo out Thursday

Boston Red Sox OF Rusney Castillo is not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 11. OF Brock Holt is starting in right field and hitting second against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has been one of Boston's more consistent hitters this year (.305-1-13), and he's settled into a top spot in the batting order. Holt's lone home run came off a right-hander this year, and Tillman continues to be wildly inconsistent this year with a 5.61 ERA and 1.62 WHIP. Holt profiles as a nice value pick Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players will want to stay tuned. Give Ramirez ($5,600; or 11.2% of cap) at least one game to prove his health before trusting him again. Castillo ($3,500; or 7.0% of cap) could be a sharp short-term play if he draws a start.

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 12:36:42 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt is hitting second in the lineup Tuesday, June 9, against the Baltimore Orioles. OF Rusney Castillo is not in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is a jack-of-all-trades player who would normally have a starting role on any other team, but until Boston trades some excess bats this is the result. Holt should be started because he has a solid bat and good speed (.375 in the past week and two steals).
