Dolphins | Damien Williams scores twice

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 06:26:59 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams rushed for 14 yards and one touchdown on four carries in the second preseason game Saturday, Aug. 22. Williams also caught one pass for 11 yards and one touchdown during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Williams should have a role on offense this season and could be used in short-yardage situations. Owners should watch to see what he does in the final two preseason games. He could be a late-round option in deeper leagues as a possible Lamar Miller handcuff.

Dolphins | Damien Williams aligned at No. 2

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 07:24:36 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams is listed as the second-string running back on the team's first depth chart. RB LaMichael James is third, and RB Jay Ajayi is fourth on the chart.

Fantasy Tip: Before the NFL Draft, there was a report that the team wasn't sold on Williams. During camp, there has been talk about James pushing him. So it doesn't seem like he has a strong hold on the spot. Williams is worth consideration very late in drafts, but he's not guaranteed anything.

Dolphins | LaMichael James pushing for job

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 06:05:37 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB LaMichael James is working as the third-down back Wednesday, Aug. 5, and appears to be pushing RB Damien Williams for the role.

Fantasy Tip: James has dashing speed, but he'll need to carve out a steady role behind Lamar Miller to have enough fantasy value to be drafted.

Dolphins | Miami not sold on Damien Williams

Wed, 01 Apr 2015 07:59:00 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams may not be ready to serve as the team's No. 2 running back in the eyes of the club. The Dolphins could draft a running back in the 2015 NFL Draft if they don't sign a running back soon.

Fantasy Tip: Lamar Miller averaged 13.5 carries per game last season, and while he played all 16 games, he was nicked up quite a bit. If Williams' role increases, he could chip in with close to 10 carries per game and be a handcuff or RB5 candidate.

Dolphins | Lamar Miller questionable

Fri, 21 Nov 2014 14:52:32 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller (shoulder, knee) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 12 against the Denver Broncos. Miller has been nursing a sore shoulder for the last three weeks, but he also recently suffered a knee injury in practice. RBs Damien Williams and Daniel Thomas will likely share the workload if Miller sits out. RB LaMichael James could also be activated for the first time this year.

Fantasy Tip: Miller ($6,100) was already a weak FantasyScore play coming into this difficult matchup against the Broncos. The questionable tag officially makes him a guy to avoid. Williams ($3,000) and Thomas ($3,200) aren't any more intriguing, despite their cheap prices. James ($3,000) is actually the most interesting play, since Denver has actually allowed frequent catches to running backs in the last four weeks. However, James is obviously extremely risky.

Dolphins | Lamar Miller to share workload?

Thu, 13 Nov 2014 13:48:49 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills Thursday, Nov. 13, but RBs Daniel Thomas and Damien Williams will be expected to share touches with him tonight. Miller has been nursing a shoulder injury for the last two weeks, and he played only 11 snaps in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Miller ($6,100) isn't a smart FantasyScore investment against a tough Buffalo Bills defense on a short week. Neither Thomas nor Williams should be expected to put up big fantasy numbers, either.

Dolphins | Lamar Miller's status uncertain

Thu, 06 Nov 2014 10:39:43 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) has been very limited during practice this week and his status for Week 10 is uncertain. RB Daniel Thomas and Damien Williams could receive bigger roles if Miller is limited during the game or is not able to play.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to watch to see if Miller has a chance to play in Week 10. Miller costs $6,200 on FantasyScore but may be too costly if he is limited during the game. Thomas could be a cheap flex option at $3,700 if Miller is not able to play.
