Cowboys | Allen Hurns agrees to terms with Dallas

Fri, 23 Mar 2018 09:49:22 -0700

Free-agent WR Allen Hurns (Jaguars) told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Friday, March 23, he plans on signing with the Dallas Cowboys. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports it will be a two-year deal. Financial terms of the contract have yet to be disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: One day after adding Deonte Thompson, the Cowboys continue their quest to upgrade one of the weakest spots on the team with Hurns, who can play inside or outside. Hurns is capable of beating out Terrance Williams for a starting job, but a platoon seems like the most likely scenario in 2018 - assuming the Cowboys keep Dez Bryant around. Barring an injury to Bryant or Williams, Hurns is unlikely to be worthy of a spot on fantasy benches this year.

NFL | Two AFC North teams pursuing Allen Hurns

Thu, 22 Mar 2018 12:46:44 -0700

Free-agent WR Allen Hurns (Jaguars) is receiving interest from the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns is receiving interest from multiple teams and probably will make a decision in the near future. He can be a solid No. 3 receiver for a team next season and should be considered a late-round pick in most fantasy drafts.

Tue, 20 Mar 2018 17:52:40 -0700

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Allen Hurns (Jaguars) will meet with the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, March 21. Hurns was supposed to visit the New York Jets on Wednesday but changed his plans once his flight to New York was cancelled with a snowstorm expected to hit the city.

NFL | Several teams interested in Allen Hurns

Tue, 20 Mar 2018 16:55:04 -0700

Free-agent WR Allen Hurns (Jaguars) said he has received interest from the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns was limited to only 10 games in 2017 and finished with 484 yards and two touchdowns. He could be a No. 3 receiver for a team next season and has a chance to be a late-round option in deeper fantasy leagues.

Jets | Allen Hurns will visit Jets

Tue, 20 Mar 2018 15:38:37 -0700

Free-agent WR Allen Hurns (Jaguars) has a visit scheduled with the New York Jets Wednesday, March 21, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns' situation will have gone from mediocre to worse if he signs on with the Jets. New York did themselves a favor by re-signing Josh McCown and bringing on Teddy Bridgewater, but neither quarterback is consistent enough to make any Jets receiver a week-to-week starting option. The good news is that Hurns would have the opportunity to make an immediate impact in a subpar receiving corps.

Jaguars | Lots more cap space for Jaguars

Tue, 20 Mar 2018 11:46:40 -0700

The release of free-agents WR Allen Hurns (Jaguars) and TE Marcedes Lewis (Jaguars) gave the Jacksonville Jaguars $10.5 million more in salary cap space.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns released

Tue, 20 Mar 2018 07:32:45 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns will be released Tuesday, March 20, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns is always nicked up, and his 64-1,031-10 season was three years ago now. He's worth monitoring, and there's potential, but he's a WR4 or WR5.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns on the chopping block?

Fri, 09 Mar 2018 18:57:59 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns could be cut this offseason, according to James Koh of the NFL Network.

Fantasy Tip: Between upcoming free agents and Hurns' uncertain future, Jacksonville's receiving corps could look a lot different in 2018. After coming on strong late last year, Keelan Cole could find himself with a big role in the offense.

Jaguars | Marqise Lee on his way out?

Wed, 24 Jan 2018 10:48:24 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Marqise Lee is not expected to be re-signed, in the opinion of Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union. Halloran posits that the mostly likely case for Lee being re-signed is if WR Allen Robinson is not retained. Another possibility is that WR Allen Hurns could be released in order to create $7 million more in salary cap space. Lee could also be asked to take a pay cut. However, with WRs Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole contributing well, Lee may be the odd man out.

Fantasy Tip: Jacksonville possesses good depth at the wide receiver position -- too much depth, in fact. Westbrook and Cole are young, budding wideouts and Robinson is one of the best receivers in the game when he's playing to his full potential. Lee's fantasy value will be better determined when we know where he's playing.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns posts six receptions

Sun, 21 Jan 2018 15:44:14 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns finished with six receptions and 80 yards on seven receptions in the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns did a decent job when he was healthy, stepping up once Allen Robinson went down with a season-ending injury. However, he is normally more of a WR4 or WR5 in fantasy leagues, and should be treated as such heading into 2018.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns doesn't show up

Sun, 14 Jan 2018 16:11:10 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns posted just one reception for 12 yards on two targets in the AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Jan. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns didn't do much down the stretch or so far in the playoffs, but he has WR3 or flex potential in DFS play in the conference championship round with just four teams remaining.

Jaguars | Three Jaguars WRs not involved

Sun, 07 Jan 2018 13:29:57 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Marqise Lee, Allen Hurns and Keelan Cole were each targeted one time against the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card playoff game Sunday, Jan. 7, but all three finished with zero receptions. Lee did have one carry for five yards during the game.

Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars did not have much success in the passing game against the Bills, so Lee, Hurns and Cole were held off the stat sheet. They should be able to make some plays against the Pittsburgh Steelers next week. Lee can be a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy receiver, while Hurns and Cole could be at least flex options.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns expected to play

Sat, 30 Dec 2017 12:02:52 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) is expected to play against the Tennessee Titans in Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has not played since the middle of November, so it is not known if he will see limited snaps against the Titans. Owners probably can avoid Hurns this week since the Jaguars have several receivers to throw to in their passing game.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited Friday

Fri, 29 Dec 2017 18:50:53 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) remained a limited participant in practice Friday, Dec. 29, but he was not listed on the Week 17 injury report.

Fantasy Tip: Although it looks like Hurns is available to play against the Tennessee Titans, he could see a limited role with Jacksonville's playoff seeding already locked in. After missing the last six games, Hurns would be a risky starting option in the finale.

Fri, 29 Dec 2017 11:53:21 -0800

DT Abry Jones (back) has yet to practice this week but is also listed as questionable. QB Blake Bortles (wrist), Keelan Cole (quad) and LB Lerentee McCray (knee) all practiced fully Friday and were removed from the injury report. Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited

Thu, 28 Dec 2017 14:16:26 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 28.

Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars are locked into the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, so Hurns may receive another week to rest his injured ankle. Owners can monitor the situation but should look for other options to use in their lineups.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited Wednesday

Wed, 27 Dec 2017 15:54:44 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns is a question mark for the regular-season finale. If Hurns is limited or unable to go it appears Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook will be the biggest beneficiaries again.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns unlikely to play

Sun, 24 Dec 2017 05:50:54 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 16's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns was listed as questionable on the injury report after putting in three limited practice sessions during the week. If he is deactivated, WRs Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole have a very favorable matchup and are worthy of consideration as WR3 options with plenty of upside in most fantasy formats.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns a possibility for Week 16

Fri, 22 Dec 2017 10:15:47 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) was able to practice in limited fashion all week and is listed as questionable for Week 16 versus the San Francisco 49ers. Hurns has not played since Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns' return to the lineup would obviously throw a wrench in the plans of owners hoping to roll with either Dede Westbrook or Keelan Cole in a plus-matchup this week, although there is no telling how long or how effective the veteran will be even if he does suit up. Owners should avoid using considering all of the uncertainty surrounding him, but his absence would free up the rookies to be high-upside WR3s.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns listed as limited

Thu, 21 Dec 2017 14:10:26 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has been sidelined for over a month because of the injury but should be in uniform against the San Francisco 49ers. He will be a risky option since he has been sidelined for a while but could be a flex option in some deeper leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited

Wed, 20 Dec 2017 17:05:19 -0800

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns is back at practice after missing several weeks because of his injury. His status for Week 16 is uncertain since he is working his way back from the injury. Owners in most leagues should look for other options and avoid Hurns this week.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns back at practice Wednesday

Wed, 20 Dec 2017 10:18:47 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday, Dec. 20 - his first action since suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: While Hurns could conceivably replace the injured Marqise Lee in the starting lineup, it is truly anyone's guess how effective he will be or how big of a role he will play in his first week back. Given the emergence of Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole - not to mention Jaydon Mickens - in recent weeks, the Jaguars could rely more heavily on them until Lee returns. Owners should steer clear of Hurns this week as a result.

Wed, 13 Dec 2017 15:59:21 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) was on the sidelines for practice on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Jaguars | Marqise Lee, Allen Hurns both sidelined

Wed, 06 Dec 2017 14:33:45 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Marqise Lee (knee) and Allen Hurns (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Fantasy Tip: There are still three days for Lee and Hurns to be ready for the Seattle Seahawks, so don't panic just yet. Seattle has been worse than usual against the pass this year, but they did just limited a potent Philadelphia Eagles' passing attack and have only yielded single-digit touchdowns (9) to receivers in 2017. Stay tuned to the progress of Lee and Hurns but have a plan B ready.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns to miss Week 13

Fri, 01 Dec 2017 09:04:30 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns hasn't practiced since spraining his ankle in Week 10, so this shouldn't come as a surprise. Marqise Lee should return to fantasy relevancy after getting shadow treatment from Patrick Peterson last week, while Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole complement him. Lee should be viewed as a WR3, while Westbrook is a high-upside flex option.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns to miss another game

Fri, 24 Nov 2017 12:01:54 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) will miss his second consecutive game in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has not practiced for the last two weeks, so his status may very well be in question for Week 13 as well. With Patrick Peterson likely to shadow Marqise Lee at least 70 percent of the time, one or both of the duo of Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook could enjoy their day in the sun in fantasy this week.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns sits again

Thu, 23 Nov 2017 12:29:12 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Hurns will miss another game, but owners should check on his status later in the week to make sure. Dede Westbrook would see more targets if Hurns sits but would only be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns not practicing

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 14:02:47 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) was not at practice Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns didn't play last week either, so not practicing isn't a good start to his week. If he can't play again and/or if Marqise Lee regresses or is limited at all then Dede Westbrook could turn into a sneaky start, but that might be getting too cute.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns to be idle again

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 08:37:56 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) is not expected to practice Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns' sizzle from his breakout campaign two seasons ago has all but fizzled out. He's potentially still worth stashing, but there isn't much upside in the offense to play him if he goes.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns won't practice Tuesday

Tue, 21 Nov 2017 08:17:54 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) won't practice Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has a 36-446-2 line in nine games this season, and this offense doesn't give him a lot of upside if he goes against the Arizona Cardinals.
