Jaguars | Allen Hurns to miss another game

Fri, 24 Nov 2017 12:01:54 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) will miss his second consecutive game in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has not practiced for the last two weeks, so his status may very well be in question for Week 13 as well. With Patrick Peterson likely to shadow Marqise Lee at least 70 percent of the time, one or both of the duo of Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook could enjoy their day in the sun in fantasy this week.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns sits again

Thu, 23 Nov 2017 12:29:12 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Hurns will miss another game, but owners should check on his status later in the week to make sure. Dede Westbrook would see more targets if Hurns sits but would only be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns not practicing

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 14:02:47 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) was not at practice Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns didn't play last week either, so not practicing isn't a good start to his week. If he can't play again and/or if Marqise Lee regresses or is limited at all then Dede Westbrook could turn into a sneaky start, but that might be getting too cute.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns to be idle again

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 08:37:56 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) is not expected to practice Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns' sizzle from his breakout campaign two seasons ago has all but fizzled out. He's potentially still worth stashing, but there isn't much upside in the offense to play him if he goes.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns won't practice Tuesday

Tue, 21 Nov 2017 08:17:54 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) won't practice Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has a 36-446-2 line in nine games this season, and this offense doesn't give him a lot of upside if he goes against the Arizona Cardinals.

Jaguars | Keelan Cole in starting lineup

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 09:21:32 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Keelan Cole will start in place of injured WR Allen Hurns (ankle) for Week 11's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: Cole has been targeted 13 times in the last two weeks and has six receptions for 108 yards over that span. He could be worth rostering in deeper seasonal fantasy leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns out for Week 11

Fri, 17 Nov 2017 09:15:31 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns' absence should lock Marqise Lee into at least seven targets, although highly graded Browns cornerback Jason McCourty could chase him from time to time. Thus, the door is open for Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook - if active - to have a fantasy-worthy impact on the game, especially since Cleveland's run defense has been so good in 2017.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns ruled out for Week 11

Mon, 13 Nov 2017 19:00:16 -0800

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) has been ruled out for the team's Week 11 game Sunday, Nov. 19, against the Cleveland Browns. He injured his ankle late in regulation Sunday, Nov. 12, versus the Los Angeles Chargers, and head coach Doug Marrone said it is "unclear" when Hurns will be ready to play again.

Fantasy Tip: This is a tough blow for a Jaguars offense that is already limited in their passing game. However, if there's a silver lining, it's that Dede Westbrook should finally get a chance to show what he can do, as the 2017 fourth-round draft pick figures to be activated from the injured reserve list ahead of Sunday's contest. Marqise Lee is the safest play this weekend from Jacksonville's air attack but Westbrook could present the most value for owners in Week 11.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns unlikely to play

Mon, 13 Nov 2017 13:39:03 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) likely will not play in Week 11 because of the ankle injury he suffered in Week 10, according to head coach Doug Marrone.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should check later in the week to make sure Hurns is ruled out for the game. Dede Westbrook has a chance to return to the lineup in Week 11 and could receive a decent amount of playing time. Owners in deeper leagues should consider adding Westbrook if they have the roster space.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns in a walking boot

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 18:08:43 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (foot) exited against the Los Angeles Chargers with a foot injury in Week 10, and he was wearing a walking boot on his right foot and using crutches after the game.

Fantasy Tip: If Hurns misses time, it should ensure that Marqise Lee continues to deliver W3 production moving forward. Meanwhile, Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook could be worth grabbing if you need receiver depth.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns finishes with 31 yards

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 15:06:22 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns caught three passes for 31 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns was coming off a terrific Week 7 performance but has been held to under 40 yards in four of his last six games. He could be a flex option in some deeper leagues next week against the Los Angeles Chargers but can also stay on the bench if owners have better options.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns hits century mark

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 15:51:02 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns posted five receptions for 101 yards on eight targets in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns hit the triple digits in yardage for the first time since Dec. 27, 2015 against the New Orleans Saints. He has stepped up as the most dependable option in the Jacksonville pass attack since Allen Robinson went down, but he still is without a touchdown in four straight outings. Treat him as more of a WR4 or flex play heading into Week 9 after the bye, and beware of Dede Westbrook stealing his thunder down the stretch.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited to three targets

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 20:44:06 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns posted three receptions for 37 yards on three targets in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns was fairly productive once Allen Robinson went down in Week 1, scoring in Week 2 and Week 3. However, he has managed just nine catches for 100 yards on 16 targets over the past three outings. Treat him more as a low-end WR4 or flex play in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 7 on the road against the Indianapolis Colts.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited to 21 yards

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 14:01:15 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns posted two receptions for 21 yards on three targets in the Week 5 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars used a run-heavy offensive attack, crushing the value of Blake Bortles and the pass game. Hurns will look for better results for Week 6 against the Rams. Hurns is best used as a WR4 or flex option in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns catches four passes

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 14:21:56 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns caught four passes for 42 yards against the New York Jets in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has seen his targets vary each week, but he has targeted 10 times against the Jets. He will remain one of the starting receivers for the Jaguars but may not be a great fantasy option next week.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns finds end zone

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 10:00:02 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns caught three passes for 20 yards and one touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has been more involved in the passing game since Allen Robinson suffered his injury and should continue to see a solid amount of targets. He will have a favorable matchup in Week 4 but may only be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 12:44:12 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 3.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns takes part in practice

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 14:57:19 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Jaguars | Full practice for Allen Hurns

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 12:48:08 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns should be picked up in leagues where he's still available on the waiver wire. That being said, he's not a recommended start in Week 3 facing a Baltimore Ravens defense that has been a stalwart this season.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns finds the end zone

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 17:29:14 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns posted six receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against Tennessee on seven targets.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns scored late in garbage time, but fantasy owners do not care when the production comes. Hurns is worth scooping up for receiver depth in all fantasy leagues with Allen Robinson (knee) done for the season.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns on the block?

Wed, 23 Aug 2017 07:08:33 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns could be on the trade block, in the opinion of beat writer Ryan O'Halloran.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns had a breakout 64-1,031-10 season amidst a number of injuries two seasons ago and fell back into mediocrity last year. He could return to at least WR4 status in the right spot.

Mon, 14 Aug 2017 16:59:51 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (undisclosed) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 14, and appeared to be a full participant.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns missed a few practices because of his injury but should be ready to go moving forward. He is coming off a disappointing performance last season but should continue to be a top-three receiver for the Jaguars in 2017. He can be considered a late-round option in leagues as a No. 5 fantasy receiver.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns suffered the injury earlier this week and there is no timetable for his return. He is coming off a disappointing 2016 season but is in line for a solid role in the passing game this season. He could be a No. 5 fantasy receiver in some leagues if he recovers from his injury.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns suffered the injury earlier this week, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Owners could consider Hurns as a No. 5 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns to have major role?

Sun, 16 Jul 2017 18:53:35 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns is one of Jacksonville's most consistent receivers, according to John Oehser of Jaguars.com, and Oehser believes Hurns will be a "big factor" in the passing game this season.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns was one of the biggest busts in fantasy circles last season, but he had 10 touchdowns just a couple of years ago. He should still be the No. 2 or No. 3 option in the passing game, and Hurns is worth taking a chance on as a WR5.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns may be used in slot

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns likely will line up as a slot receiver in 2017, in the opinion of the Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns is coming off a disappointing 2016 season where he missed five games and posted only 477 yards and three touchdowns. Hurns should have a solid role in the passing game if he is healthy this season and could be considered a No. 5 receiver in some fantasy leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns looking to improve

Sat, 27 May 2017 12:29:35 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns said he knows he has to play better than he did in 2016 and has been working to improve during the offseason. Hurns has added some weight but has cut his body fat. He has also worked on improving his change of direction during routes and has been strengthening his legs to help avoid hamstring injuries.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns struggled with injuries in 2016 and finished with 35 receptions and 477 yards in 11 games. He likely will be a top three receiver for the Jaguars this upcoming season and should improve on his 2016 stats. He could be a No. 5 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (hamstring) said his hamstring is still sore and that he likely will not play in Week 17 even though he is listed as questionable.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has missed the last few games and probably will not be ready to play, so owners should avoid him in all leagues. Allen Robinson may be the only Jaguars receiver worth using in fantasy leagues and can be a No. 3 receiver for owners.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns ruled out again

Fri, 23 Dec 2016 11:37:04 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (hamstring) will miss his fourth consecutive game in Week 16 against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Tip: There's very little reason for Jacksonville to bring him back for Week 17, so Hurns will likely finish his season with 35 catches for 477 yards and three touchdowns over 11 games. Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee should see their usual work in a plus-matchup, but the Jaguars' dysfunctional offense makes both players hard to trust even as low-end WR3s.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns misses practice

Thu, 22 Dec 2016 13:33:31 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has missed the last few weeks, so don't expect him to return this week after missing consecutive practices. Jacksonville's passing game is unreliable, but Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee shouldn't be overlooked. They both have quality matchups against the Tennessee Titans. ARob is a WR3 option while Lee is more of a flex play with added value in return leagues.
