Jaguars | Allen Hurns hopes to run soon

Sat, 06 Feb 2016 10:14:33 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (abdomen) said he expects to begin running and training in about a month. He also said he'll definitely be ready for organized team activities this offseason. Hurns is recovering from sports hernia surgery he had in January.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns is coming off a breakout season in which he recorded 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns. His teammate Allen Robinson is the No. 1 wide receiver, but if Hurns is at full health when the season starts he should still be drafted as a WR2.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns feeling better

Fri, 05 Feb 2016 07:38:23 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (abdomen) is feeling better after surgery to repair a sports hernia he sustained in Week 3. "It's been two weeks now," Hurns said. "The first week was real tough, real sore. It was tough to do anything as far as yawning, sneezing, coughing - all of that. Right now, I'm moving around a lot better."

Fantasy Tip: Hurns' breakout 64-1,031-10 season has him in the WR2 conversation heading into next season.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns set for surgery

Mon, 04 Jan 2016 09:00:24 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (abdomen) will have surgery next week to repair a sports hernia.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns broke out in a big way in 2015, and his 64-1,301-10 season is a building block for dynasty leagues. He'll be in the WR2 discussion in drafts next year.

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 18:27:47 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns posted just three receptions for 17 yards in the Week 17 game against the Houston Texans. He was targeted five times.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns wrapped up the 2015 season with 64 receptions, 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns. If he can stay healthy in 2016 he will be a must-have WR2 or flex fantasy option in most formats.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns likely will play

Fri, 01 Jan 2016 13:00:19 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is listed as probable for the Week 17 game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) has recorded two 100-yard performances in the last three games and has three touchdowns in that span. He was held to 30 yards in his last game against the Texans but could be a solid starting option this week because of his recent play.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited at practice

Thu, 31 Dec 2015 14:48:57 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 31.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) has nursed injuries for most of the second half of the season, and while on the surface it hasn't significantly impacted his production, it has been an extremely cushy schedule for Jacksonville. The Houston Texans, who own the third-ranked passing defense in yards per game, project to make life a little more difficult for the Jaguars' vertical attack. View Hurns as a risky investment at FantasyScore for Week 17.

Jaguars | T.J. Yeldon, Allen Hurns miss practice

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 13:40:32 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (knee) and WR Allen Hurns (thigh) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Yeldon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) is the bigger question mark after missing last week's game. Hurns ($6,700, 13.4%) has dealt with a slew of injuries this year, too, so both should be monitored closely. Even if they do play, the Houston Texans have been solid defensively against wide receivers and running backs this year. Invest at your own risk.

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 18:58:15 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns finished with eight catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns surpassed 1,000 yards for the year, and he is up to 10 touchdowns. He has established himself as a reliable WR2, and the future looks bright for the Jacksonville passing attack.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns should play

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 14:26:33 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has been a bit inconsistent in terms of his receiving yards over the last several weeks but has a touchdown in eight of his last 11 games. Hurns has a favorable matchup this week and should be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited Thursday

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 11:19:34 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 24, after sitting out Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Hurns ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) will be fine to suit up against the New Orleans Saints, one of the best matchups all season for wideouts. However, Hurns clearly isn't 100% healthy to close out the year and is heavily touchdown-dependent right now. The upside in this matchup remains very intriguing, though.

Jaguars | No practice for Allen Hurns

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 15:32:41 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has been battling various injuries down the stretch that have slowed him. He was disappointing last week but has an undeniably great matchup against the New Orleans Saints this weekend. If he's active, there's no reason why he can't return profit in this one.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns should suit up

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 11:50:16 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh) practiced in full Friday, Dec. 18, and is listed as probable for Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has been a touchdown scoring machine this year for Jacksonville. However, the Falcons are the second-toughest fantasy matchup for receivers this year and have allowed just six TDs to wideouts all year. Hurns is a bust candidate.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns moves to limited practice

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 14:26:47 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh) took part in a limited practice Thursday, Dec. 17, after sitting out Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: It represents progress for Hurns ($5,800, 11.6% of cap), who should play again this week barring a setback. Most of his production came on a long touchdown play last week. Be careful not to overvalue him against a strong Atlanta Falcons secondary in Week 15.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns doesn't practice

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 14:33:18 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh) did not take part in practice Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) returned last week catching three passes for 105 yards and a score. Most of that came on an 80-yard TD catch, though. He's facing a tough Atlanta Falcons secondary this weekend, so temper your expectations on FantasyScore.

Jaguars | Blake Bortles has four second-half scores

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 14:38:49 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles passed for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth score Sunday, Dec. 13, as the Jaguars beat the Indianapolis Colts 51-16. Bortles threw for 250 yards on 16 of 30 passing and threw TDs to WR Allen Hurns, WR Allen Robinson and TE Julius Thomas.

Fantasy Tip: Bortles ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) played perhaps his best game in his short Jaguars career. Bortles is actually a decent FantasyScore pickup and the Jaguars are no longer the league's bottom feeder.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns listed as limited

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 15:58:53 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (back) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) could be a game-time decision for the game against the Indianapolis Colts, so owners will need to continue to monitor the situation. Hurns would be a solid starting option if he is active, but owners should have a backup plan ready if he is ruled out.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns practices in full

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 17:13:37 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) appears to be on track to play this week against the Indianapolis Colts, but owners should look for any possible setbacks. He has caught at least one touchdown in seven of his last nine games and could be a starting option for owners since he has a favorable matchup.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns cleared

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 12:05:39 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) was fully cleared through the NFL's concussion protocol Monday, Dec. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns should be good to go for Week 14 assuming he doesn't suffer any setbacks. He and the Jaguars do have a tasty matchup against the Indianapolis Colts next week, who just got torched by the Pittsburgh Steelers' passing attack.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns' status to be updated

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 10:19:48 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns' (concussion) status for the Week 14 game against the Indianapolis Colts will be updated Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns did not play in the last game and will have to pass all of his concussion tests before he is cleared to play. Owners will need to monitor his practice participation during the week but should have another option ready in case he misses another game.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns out for Week 13

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 08:19:45 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) was ruled out for Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Tip: TE Julius Thomas ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) becomes an even better midrange option on FantasyScore in a week with a slew of injuries at the position.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns not ruled out

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 19:47:42 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) still has a chance to play in the Week 13 game against the Tennessee Titans if he is cleared Friday, Dec. 4, or Saturday, Dec. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has not practiced the first two days of the week, so owners will need to continue to monitor the situation. There is a good chance that Hurns will miss the game, so owners should have backup plans ready in case he is declared inactive.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns still out Thursday

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 08:32:54 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol Thursday, Dec. 3, and won't practice.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is unlikely to go against the Tennessee Titans this week. TE Julius Thomas ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) would have some upside on FantasyScore.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns unlikely to play

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 21:56:34 -0800

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) is unlikely to play in the Week 13 game against the Tennessee Titans, offensive coordinator Greg Olson said Wednesday, Dec. 2. "That's a big blow," Olson said.

Fantasy Tip: With Hurns ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) unlikely to play, Allen Robinson ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) is likely to see additional targets. Julius Thomas ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) is also likely to make a big contribution again.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns day-to-day

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 15:21:22 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) is day-to-day, and his status for Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans is uncertain. WR Marqise Lee could start in Hurns' place if he can't play, according to head coach Gus Bradley. Lee has missed six of the last eight games with his own injury and has just five catches for 51 yards this year. He's been targeted once in the last two games.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) seems doubtful to play this week after what looked like a pretty serious injury last Sunday. Lee ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will see an increased role, but perhaps Bryan Walters ($2,000) or Rashad Greene ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) are more worth your time on FantasyScore as deep sleepers.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns idle Wednesday

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 08:10:53 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol and will not practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: It seems like it's something different every week with Hurns, who has had a very good season. Hurns ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has a couple of days to receive clearance in order to play against the Tennessee Titans.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns not ruled out yet

Mon, 30 Nov 2015 10:21:14 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) is going through the concussion protocol but has not been ruled out for the Week 13 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns will have to pass all of his concussion tests before being allowed to play, so owners will need to monitor his progress during the week. Hurns has been productive this season and could be a decent starting option if he plays.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns released from hospital

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 17:26:45 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) was released from a hospital after being diagnosed with a concussion in the Week 12 game against the San Diego Chargers. Hurns was taken off the field in a stretcher but later tweeted that he would be OK. He had four catches for 42 yards in the loss to the Bolts.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns will have to go through the league's concussion protocol before being cleared for Week 13, so for now he's a risky fantasy commodity for next week. Allen Robinson, Bryan Walters and Rashad Greene would all receive a boost in value if Hurns is forced to miss any time.

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 13:18:44 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) was taken off the field on a stretcher after he suffered a concussion during the team's Week 12 game.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns hit his head when he tried to dive for a pass and will not be allowed to play again until he passes all of his concussion tests. Owners monitor his situation during the week and have a backup plan ready in case he misses some playing time.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns probable

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 10:03:42 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh, foot) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 27, but is probable for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is at a decent price for a WR2 grab on FantasyScore against a midrange San Diego Chargers defense against the position the last five weeks.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited again

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 14:34:37 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh, foot) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has dealt with his fair share of injuries this year, but he's also been a touchdown monster. He does face a tough test this week in the San Diego Chargers, so it might be wise to lower your expectations.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited in practice

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 15:36:57 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (thigh, foot) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) had his worst showing of the season last week (three catches, 19 yards) and broke a string of seven straight games with a touchdown. It's fair to wonder how productive he'll be to close out the year while dealing with several ailments, one of which may require surgery. The San Diego Chargers have kept receivers in check this year, too, so it looks like Hurns could be on his way to another dud.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns' streak ends

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 21:29:24 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns failed to catch a touchdown for the first time in seven games, finishing with three catches for 19 yards in a 19-13 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: It was Hurns' worst game of the season, but he should bounce back nicely when the Jaguars return to action against a porous San Diego Chargers defense.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee probable

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 14:28:43 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Allen Hurns (foot, thigh) and Marqise Lee (hamstring) are both listed as probable for the game against the Tennessee Titans Thursday, Nov. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) is seeking to set an NFL record with eight straight games with a touchdown. He's risky in daily setups on a short week with various injuries, but you can't argue with his production in a breakout year. Lee ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) was eased in last week and still may be somewhat limited. He's not a smart pick on FantasyScore.

Tue, 17 Nov 2015 14:41:44 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (foot, thigh) practiced in full Tuesday, Nov. 17, after being held out Monday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has been battling nagging injuries of late but will go for an NFL-record eight straight games with a touchdown Thursday against the Tennessee Titans if he's active. He expects to play, but on a short week against a quietly good defense, Hurns is at risk of producing a dud.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns may need surgery

Tue, 17 Nov 2015 11:16:34 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (abdomen) said he may undergo sports hernia surgery after the season.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) will try to ride out his current injury until the season ends. He's been a valuable part of the Jaguars' offense this year, scoring a touchdown in seven straight games. He's facing a better than average pass defense in the Tennessee Titans this week, but he's still worth starting on FantasyScore.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns back at practice

Tue, 17 Nov 2015 09:34:38 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (abdomen) returned to practice Tuesday, Nov. 17. Hurns has been making regularly scheduled visits with sports hernia specialist Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia over the past several weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) continues to play though maladies and has the Tennessee Titans Thursday night. He has seven touchdowns, but with the short week, it could be a downer week on FantasyScore for him.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns expected to go Thursday

Tue, 17 Nov 2015 06:13:32 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (abdomen) is expected to play in Week 11 Thursday, Nov. 19, after visiting a core specialist.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) keeps scoring touchdowns and keeps showing up on the injury report. He'll take on the Tennessee Titans in a short week, and he presents a low-end WR2 risk on FantasyScore.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns may need surgery

Mon, 16 Nov 2015 10:12:39 -0800

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (hernia) could undergo surgery on his sports hernia, which would keep him out of the lineup for four to six weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns is scheduled to meet with a specialist this week, so owners likely will know more about the situation later in the week. Hurns has played well this season but would be a risky option this week because of the injury.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns dealing with core injury

Mon, 16 Nov 2015 10:07:51 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (core) is dealing with a core injury and will see a specialist this week. Hurns has scored a touchdown in seven straight games.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has been dynamite for fantasy owners in all formats, but with another injury to think about and on a short week against the Tennessee Titans this Thursday night, there is more risk than ever in using him in daily formats. Stay tuned on his status early this week.

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 14:39:37 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns extended his string of games with at least one touchdown to seven on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has the handicap of Blake Bortles as his quarterback, but Bortles likes to throw to Hurns so that increases Hurns' fantasy value. Ride him as long as you can.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns on hot streak

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 11:20:28 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns has scored in seven straight games after finding the end zone against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10 Sunday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns has been a touchdown machine this year. The one downside for Hurns is that he is fairly reliant on touchdowns, and doesn't see a whole lot of catches or yards from week to week. He should still be regarded as a WR2 going forward.

Jaguars | Marqise Lee, Allen Hurns active

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 08:06:28 -0800

Updating previous reports, Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Allen Hurns (foot, thigh) and Marqise Lee (hamstring) are both active for Week 10's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has a favorable matchup against the Baltimore secondary and makes an excellent flex option in FantasyScore this week, while Lee ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) should be avoided because he is only expected to see a limited number of snaps.

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 07:53:44 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (foot, thigh) is expected to play in Week 10's game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) doesn't suffer any setbacks during pre-game warmups, he should be good to go. He participated in the walk-through Friday, Nov. 13, after missing practice Wednesday, Nov. 11, and Thursday, Nov. 12. He has a favorable matchup against Baltimore and is worthy of consideration for the flex position in FantasyScore.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns confident he'll play

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 15:13:09 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (foot) is "very confident" that he will play in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has been extremely productive this year, and he's scored a touchdown in six straight games. If he's playing against the Ravens, it's hard not to like him on FantasyScore against a team that allows 46.0 PPR fantasy points per game to receivers (second-most in the NFL).

Jaguars | Allen Hurns hoping to continue streaks

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 15:14:46 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (foot) is hoping to keep his consecutive games played streak alive, as he's played in all 24 games in his two years with the Jaguars. He's not expecting his sprained left foot to keep him out in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens. Hurns has also caught a touchdown in six straight games, which is a franchise record and is tied for the longest scoring streak in the NFL in the last three years. Hurns will not relinquish his starting role even when WR Marqise Lee (hamstring) is fully healthy or when WR Rashad Greene (thumb) returns from the short-term Reserve/Injured list next week.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) was in a walking boot just a few days ago, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him sit out. He'll likely be questionable and perhaps a game-time decision, which makes him too risky for daily owners. Bryan Walters ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is a good pick as a deep sleeper if Hurns can't go.
