Ravens | Crockett Gillmore has bulked up

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 22:47:30 -0700

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore has bulked up to 275 pounds during the offseason, but has maintained his speed. He is considered the favorite to start. While his strength is blocking, he has good hands, too.

Fantasy Tip: Gillmore will have rookie Maxx Williams breathing down his neck for touches in the passing game, but to start Gillmore should be the primary option. He isn't quite Top 15 at his position in terms of fantasy appeal, so he'll go mostly undrafted in standard leagues. However, he could emerge as a bye-week replacement or waiver wire add if he gets off to a good start.

Ravens | Crockett Gillmore has improved hands

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 13:14:59 -0700

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore has improved catching the football this offseason. He has shown strong hands and supposedly has hardly let the ball hit the ground.

Fantasy Tip: Gillmore will primarily compete with rookie Maxx Williams for the starting tight end position. Someone needs to step in and take the place of Owen Daniels, who left for the Denver Broncos. Both still have much to prove, so only draft them as backup fantasy tight ends.

Ravens | Crockett Gillmore top choice to start

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 09:14:48 -0700

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore appears to be the most likely candidate to start at tight end this season since he is the closest thing the team has to a two-way tight end.

Fantasy Tip: Gillmore had a strong showing during offseason workouts but will have to compete with Maxx Williams for the starting job. Gillmore was limited to 121 yards and one touchdown last season and probably would not be more than a No. 2 tight end in fantasy leagues if he wins the job.

Ravens | Crockett Gillmore has solid offseason

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 13:40:39 -0700

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore showed an improved ability to catch passes in traffic this offseason and was one of the surprises during the offseason workouts. He is expected to compete for the starting tight end job during training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Gillmore recorded only 10 receptions last season for 121 yards and one touchdown in 15 games. Gillmore has a chance to join the starting lineup this season but probably is not more than a No. 2 tight end on fantasy teams at this point.

Ravens | Big expectations for Crockett Gillmore

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 22:10:42 -0700

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore was solid in his rookie season as a No. 2 tight end most of the year, and team owner Steve Bisciotti feels Gillmore could take a big step forward. "When you have a guy like a Jason Witten who loves to block - doesn't just do it because he's being made to do it - and can get off the line of scrimmage, that can be a great weapon. I really would expect 30-40 balls to Crockett this year," Bisciotti said.

Fantasy Tip: A lot of Gillmore's fantasy outlook is tied to whether or not Dennis Pitta can return from a second hip dislocation. Initially, Gillmore isn't worth drafting in seasonal leagues, but he could be a sneaky play in FantasyScore at a low salary.

Ravens | Dennis Pitta's status in question

Thu, 05 Feb 2015 07:41:32 -0800

Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta (hip) is a question mark entering the 2015 season, and head coach John Harbaugh was noncommittal about Pitta's status a couple of weeks ago. The team will likely address the situation in the offseason because TE Crockett Gillmore is the only other tight end under contract.

Fantasy Tip: Pitta is immensely talented, but he has had two major hip injuries. He's likely to be available for a late-TE2 flyer in traditional drafts.
