Tigers | Steven Moya continues June tear

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 16:42:06 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Steven Moya continued his awesome showing in June by delivering his fourth home run of the month Wednesday, June 29, against the Miami Marlins. The 24-year-old went 1-for-4 on the day with a run scored and an RBI.

Fantasy Tip: Moya was recalled only a couple of weeks ago, but he's simply been outstanding for the Tigers ever since. In fact, he's registered at least one hit in seven of his eight games this month, and all of his homers this season have come in June. Now that he's carved out a regular role in Detroit's lineup, owners should start consider adding Moya, even outside deep formats.

Tigers | Mike Aviles starting against Miami

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 12:31:53 -0700

Detroit Tigers INF/OF Mike Aviles is starting in right field and batting eighth against Miami Marlins SP Adam Conley Tuesday, June 28. OF Steven Moya (knee) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Aviles has a .533 OPS this season and should be viewed as a depth player in cavernous mixed and AL-only formats. Moya hasn't played since sustaining a knee injury Friday, June 24, and at this point, he should be left to similar deep leagues.

Tigers | James McCann, Steven Moya sitting

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 07:30:12 -0700

Detroit Tigers C James McCann and OF Steven Moya (knee) are not in the starting lineup Sunday, June 26. C Jarrod Saltalamacchia is starting behind the plate and batting seventh, and INF/0F Mike Aviles is starting in right field and batting eighth against Cleveland Indians SP Josh Tomlin Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: McCann has been hot in June with a .283/.313/.550 slash line and is a viable starting option in the majority of seasonal leagues. Saltalamacchia, meanwhile, is mired in an active 13-for-88 runs at the plate with a .529 OPS and is a desperation own and start at this point. Aviles and Moya have been splitting time of late in right field with Moya nursing a knee injury. Neither are anything more than low-end starters in cavernous mixed and AL-only setups, but when healthy, Moya has the potential to enter the mixed league conversation.

Tigers | Steven Moya not in lineup Saturday

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 10:04:32 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Steven Moya is not in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco Saturday, June 25. INF/OF Mike Aviles will play right field and bat seventh. In addition, SS Jose Iglesias is back in the lineup, batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Moya is batting .391 with three home runs over the past week but he will give way to Aviles Saturday, who is hitting .295 with four RBI over the past four weeks. He should be viewed as nothing more than an inexpensive flier option in daily fantasy contests. Iglesias is batting .351 with eight RBI this month and makes a productive source of cap relief in DFS at the shortstop position.

Tigers | Steven Moya keeps raking

Thu, 23 Jun 2016 18:02:26 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Steven Moya went 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI Thursday, June 23, against the Seattle Mariners. He also drew two walks.

Fantasy Tip: Moya didn't do anything of note when he was called up by the Tigers in May, but he's been taking advantage of his second stint with the big league club. In six games since being recalled, the 24-year-old is now 9-for-24 (.375) with three homers, six runs and four RBI. He's worth a look in deep formats right now and definitely has some mixed league appeal.

Detroit Tigers OF Steven Moya went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and three runs scored Wednesday, June 22, against the Seattle Mariners. He entered the game with just one career home run.

Fantasy Tip: Moya has a big frame and looks like a guy who should be able to reach the seats on a routine basis. He is hitting .321 so far and has emerged as a must-start fantasy option in AL-only leagues and DFS play.

Detroit Tigers OF Steven Moya is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 21. INF/OF Mike Aviles is starting in right field and batting seventh against Seattle Mariners SP James Paxton Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Moya is expected to receive the majority of starts in right field with J.D. Martinez out with a broken elbow. Moya should be owned in deep mixed and AL-only leagues at this point. Aviles is nothing more than a low-end option in cavernous mixed and AL-only setups. He's a risky flier in daily contests Tuesday, too.

Detroit Tigers OF Steven Moya went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, the first of his career, in a 2-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals Sunday, June 19.
