Braves | Hector Olivera's leave extended

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 12:18:15 -0700

Atlanta Braves 3B/OF Hector Olivera's administrative leave has been extended by two weeks, according to sources. The domestic-violence policy allows for such an extension.

Fantasy Tip: On top of it, Olivera could face a suspension from Major League Baseball. Even in some deeper leagues, dropping Olivera for a body that will produce is suggested. In the meantime, Atlanta will use some combination of Kelly Johnson, Jeff Francoeur and Drew Stubbs in left field. Because playing time will be sporadic, all three are NL-only options, at best.

Braves | Hector Olivera placed on leave

Wed, 13 Apr 2016 08:55:30 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Atlanta Braves 3B/OF Hector Olivera was placed on administrative leave Wednesday, April 13, and the commissioner's office has begun an investigation.

Fantasy Tip: This signals more than a short-term leave, and Mallex Smith could have more time to roam the outfield when Ender Inciarte (hamstring) returns. Smith, Kelly Johnson and Jeff Francoeur are NL-only options, and Smith has the most potential.
