Miami Dolphins LB Rey Maualuga (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and has been ruled out for Week 3. DT Jordan Phillips (ankle) did not practice and is listed as doubtful. RB Jay Ajayi (knee), WR Jarvis Landry (knee), WR DeVante Parker (ankle) and RB Damien Williams (rib) fully participated in practice but are listed as questionable. C Mike Pouncey (hip) fully participated in practice and is not on the injury report.

Miami Dolphins DT Jordan Phillips is likely to take over as one of the starting defensive tackles after the team released DT Earl Mitchell. Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph, when he was still Miami's defensive coordinator, called Phillips "obviously a big man with talent" and "a player that, if you can take his explosive or flash plays, you can make a tape and it's special."

Miami Dolphins DT Jordan Phillips was not fined by the National Football League for his low hit in the third quarter of Week 9's game on New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, which led to Fitzpatrick temporarily leaving the game. Phillips was charged with a roughing-the-passer penalty on the play.
