Cowboys | Settlement unlikely in Ezekiel Elliott case

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 11:08:24 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott likely will not reach a settlement with the NFL in terms of his six-game suspension, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott has received a temporary restraining order and will play in the next two games but he could serve the suspension later in the season. He should be a No. 1 fantasy running back in all leagues as long as he is allowed to play.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott not suspended yet

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 16:51:07 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott was given his temporary restraining order against the NFL Tuesday, Oct. 17. His pending suspension is now delayed two weeks or until further proceedings.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott is safe for now, again, but this whole situation has been a wobbly teeter totter. Elliott may eventually be suspended in 2017, but it looks like he'll be able to play at least the next two weeks, so make sure he's back in those starting lineups. The Darren McFadden and/or Alfred Morris hype trains are on stand by for a while.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott's future will be decided Tuesday

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 12:17:04 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott and the rest of the NFL will know his fate by the end of Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Fantasy Tip: One would imagine all parties involved will at least be relieved when the situation comes to a close, either way. If Elliott is indeed suspended then Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris are immediate high-end waiver wire pickups with McFadden possessing more upside in PPR formats.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott wants to stop suspension

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 18:01:42 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott seeking a temporary restraining order to postpone his six-game suspension, and lawyers from the NFL Players Association have filed paperwork with the U.S. District Court on behalf of Elliott.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott is currently suspended but would be able to play in Week 7 if he receives the restraining order. Owners should continue to monitor the situation and will need other options available in case Elliot is not allowed to play.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden the lead back?

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 18:37:05 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden is the likely starter if RB Ezekiel Elliott begins serving his suspension, according to Bryan Broaddus of DallasCowboys.com.

Fantasy Tip: Alfred Morris has been the No. 2 back this year, but McFadden has shown he can deliver in the lead role. Both backs deserved to be owned at this point, but both would be risky plays until they have a chance to perform without Elliott.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott looking for stay

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 16:18:52 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's lawyers plan to file a rehearing of Elliott's case in front of the 5th Circuit Court of appeals. They could ask the full panel of judges in the 5th United States Court of Appeals in New Orleans to hear the appeal of Elliott's six-game suspension. His lawyers may also ask that Elliott's suspension be stayed until the appeal is heard.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott's status for Week 7 is still uncertain because of the court case, so owners should follow the situation over the next week. He is a must-start option if he plays, but Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden will be valuable fantasy options if Elliott has to serve his suspension.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott's suspension reinstated

Thu, 12 Oct 2017 14:00:19 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension was reinstated by the 5th circuit court of appeals Thursday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris will likely split touches out of the Cowboys' backfield for the next six weeks. McFadden has more fantasy upside, especially when considering PPR scoring. Morris is more suited for short-yardage and goal-line situations, but McFadden is the priority waiver-wire pickup if available.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott over 100 yards in Week 5

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 04:32:20 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott ran 29 times for 116 yards in a 35-31 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Fantasy Tip: This may be the last you see of Elliott for a while, pending a ruling on his six-game suspension. If this is it, Elliott went out with a strong performance. Be prepared to shelve him anyway for the coming week as it is a bye. Elliott remains a strong RB1 candidate as long as he is on the field.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott practices in full

Fri, 06 Oct 2017 14:24:43 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (chest) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 6, and he was removed from the injury report for Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott is a safe play for Sunday's game against the Pack. Enjoy him, as next week there is a bye and then fantasy owners will have to play the waiting game with his playing status to be determined by a three-judge panel, perhaps during the bye week.
