Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott not appealing

Wed, 15 Nov 2017 14:11:27 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has withdrawn his appeal for his six-game suspension, according to a source. Elliott will serve the suspension and return to the Cowboys against the Seattle Seahawks Dec. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott didn't have much of a chance of winning his appeal anyway, and the appeal process may have lasted longer than the rest of the regular season anyway. Alfred Morris will see the majority of carries out of the backfield, but Rod Smith is a PPR sleeper after catching four passes last week while splitting time with Morris.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott training outside U.S.

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 06:53:47 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has reportedly left the country in order to refocus and train in an undisclosed location. He will miss the next four games and could wind up serving all six games of his suspension before returning to action Dec. 24, although he has an expedited appeal in the Second Circuit court scheduled for Dec. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Alfred Morris will be the starter for Dallas in Elliott's absence and should be viewed as an RB2 in most fantasy formats. RBs Darren McFadden and Rod Smith will also see time in the backfield and should possess some value in deeper seasonal leagues.

Cowboys | Rod Smith to have bigger role?

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 19:03:22 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Rod Smith is expected to receive touches while RB Ezekiel Elliott is suspended, and running backs coach Gary Brown believes Smith can be an every-down back in the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Alfred Morris is expected to be the starter, but Smith and Darren McFadden are also going to be in the mix. Despite the praise from his position coach, Smith is no more than a lottery ticket to stash on the end of your bench in deeper leagues.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott will have another appeal

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 14:35:28 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has an expedited appeal scheduled Friday, December 1 in the Second Circuit court.

Fantasy Tip: It just will not stop with Elliott's suspension process. We do know that he will not be playing for at least the next four games. In that time, Alfred Morris is the most valuable running back in Dallas, but Darren McFadden and Rod Smith could change that before season's end.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott does not practice

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 14:09:06 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott is currently suspended for six games and will miss Week 10 unless things change. Alfred Morris likely will be the starting running back for the Cowboys and should be considered a No. 2 running back or flex option in all league. Rod Smith is also expected to have a role and could be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott suspension upheld

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 12:38:40 -0800

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's stay on his pending suspension was lifted Thursday, Nov. 6. He will begin serving his six-game suspension this week. Thus, he will not be able to return until Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott is suspended, again. The circus show has ended, hopefully. As has been well documented, Alfred Morris will be given the first opportunity to start, but Darren McFadden and Rod Smith will also be involved. Add any of these three players immediately if available.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott suspension would start right away

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 10:56:44 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's impending suspension would begin immediately if/when a stay on the suspension is lifted, according to NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart. The decision on the timing of the suspension is in the hands of the court.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott's season has been a whirlwind, but it could reach its climax and an end tonight or this weekend. Elliott owners should already have Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden and/or Rod Smith primed and ready to go in case Elliott's stay is lifted. Morris is the better option right away, but one of McFadden or Smith could take over if they play well enough.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott won't practice Thursday

Wed, 08 Nov 2017 22:21:56 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott will not practice Thursday, Nov. 9, as he'll attend his appeal hearing in New York instead. Barring an immediate ruling he's expected back at practice Friday, Nov. 10.

Fantasy Tip: The NFL's preeminent soap opera stretches into its 10th week so who knows what, if anything, will be decided on Thursday. As long as he can play Elliot is a must start in fantasy leagues. If the suspension is reinstated, Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden become priority additions.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott hearing scheduled for Thursday

Mon, 06 Nov 2017 10:50:56 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's hearing with the Second Circuit Court of Appeals is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Per the Dallas Morning News ' Kate Hairopoulos‏, Elliott can practice and play with the Cowboys until the three-judge committee rules since the stay he received last week did not have an end date.

Fantasy Tip: More than half the regular season has been played out already and it's unclear if we know anything more than we did back in August. About the only thing that is clear at the moment is that Elliott can play until the Second Circuit Court of Appeals makes their decision. After that, it would seem both the NFL and Elliott's legal team are out of moves and owners will finally have some resolution to this legal drama.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott logs 27 carries

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 20:31:37 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott finished with 27 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown in a 28-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott continues to handle a massive workload, and he has topped 25 carries in four straight games, scoring five times in that span. As long as he is allowed to keep playing, he is a must-start RB1.
