Vikings | Laquon Treadwell turning a corner?

Fri, 15 Jun 2018 09:49:21 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell spent spring workouts running with first-team offense and reportedly feels as if he is working smarter in his third season than he has before, putting him in the conversation to challenge for the No. 3 receiver role, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell working with starters

Thu, 07 Jun 2018 20:35:27 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell has been working as the third receiver with the first-team offense during OTAs.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell will have to really turn things around to shed his bust label. Yes, there's always a chance the former first-round pick will flip the switch, but he can be left on the waiver wire to start the year.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell expects improved play

Fri, 01 Jun 2018 16:16:27 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell said he expects to make a leap in terms of his play this upcoming season. "I do think I'll be able to take a leap, but I wouldn't say a big leap. I mean, I just feel like every year you're going to experience different things," Treadwell said.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell is expected to compete for the No. 3 receiver job for the Vikings during training camp. He has posted only 25 receptions and 215 yards since entering the league two years ago and will not be a great fantasy option this season.

Vikings | Two options for Vikings No. 3 receiver

Mon, 07 May 2018 14:42:49 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WRs Kendall Wright and Laquon Treadwell likely will compete for the No. 3 receiver job during training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Wright probably has an early edge in the competition since he had a better 2017 season than Treadwell. Whoever wins the job likely will be behind Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and Kyle Rudolph in terms of targets. Wright may have more fantasy value in 2018 but would only be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell holding himself back?

Thu, 01 Mar 2018 14:42:58 -0800

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell needs to "get out of his own way," according to head coach Mike Zimmer. The remark comes a day after Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said Treadwell needs to relax and not press so hard. Zimmer wasn't as diplomatic Thursday, March 1, saying, "He's a guy that works extremely hard, probably doesn't do things the right way all of the time. We'll be in training camp and he'll run the stadium steps at night, which is not helping him for practice the next day. He thinks he's trying to get better, trying to get better, he's just going about it the wrong way. So he needs to get out of his own way."

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell has a whopping 21 catches in two years after being a first-round pick. He was lapped by Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, and fantasy owners should maintain low expectations for now. This may genuinely be a situation where a player (Treadwell) needs to be in a new environment with different coaches or veterans around him to maximize his chances of success.

Vikings | Big jump for Laquon Treadwell?

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 14:52:25 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell is being counted upon for a big jump in 2018, his third NFL season. General manager Rick Spielman said Tuesday, Feb. 28, that he is hopeful for the former first-round pick will take a step forward. "It's going to be a big year for him. Hoping to see that jump this year," Spielman said. "I know he does work extremely hard at it. He's a pleaser. He wants to do good. You just got to learn to relax a little bit and not press so much - enjoy playing. Don't put so much pressure on yourself."

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell made just one reception in his rookie season, and he bumped up to 20 catches and 200 yards with a slightly larger role in the offense in 2017. He has a ton of upside, but so far he isn't worth anything more than a speculative pick in the later rounds of deeper fantasy leagues.

Fri, 16 Feb 2018 20:46:44 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell could be shopped this offseason for a draft pick, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell has been a bust in Minnesota, and a change of scenery could be best for both him and the Vikings at this point. Treadwell value is limited to dynasty leagues for now.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell shut out

Sun, 21 Jan 2018 20:29:46 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell failed to catch his only target in a 38-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell managed just 20 catches all season, and he is looking like a massive bust. At this point, the former first-round pick is even a sketchy stash option in dynasty formats.
