Cowboys | Dez Bryant not worried

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 20:43:45 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has nine catches on 25 targets through two games, and he said while that level of efficiency is "not acceptable," he believes the connection between he and QB Dak Prescott will start clicking.

Fantasy Tip: To be fair, Bryant has faced some tough matchups to open the year, and he draws another one in Week 3 against Patrick Peterson and the Cardinals. He is a boom-or-bust WR2.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott to play Week 3

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 09:26:22 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (ankle) will be "ready to go" for Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals, according to general manager/owner Jerry Jones, after suffering a minor ankle injury in a Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Prescott looked as though he could have hurt his knee when he was twisted awkwardly on a tackle at the end of a scramble in the first quarter, but it turned out to be his ankle and he did not miss any snaps after getting it rewrapped. The Cardinals pose yet another difficult matchup for the Cowboys, but Prescott has accounted well for himself so far and should be counted to produce like a low-end QB1 on Monday night.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott has ankle injury

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 14:58:56 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the Cowboys' Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the ankle ailment, Prescott put together a solid game even in a blowout loss. The injury doesn't sound serious enough to threaten any game time, but monitor Prescott's status throughout the week to be certain.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott makes pair of miscues

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:44:47 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 30 of his 50 pass attempts for 238 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 2 game against the Broncos. He also rushed three times for a team-high 24 yards.

Fantasy Tip: The fact Prescott led the team in rushing tells you a little bit about how things went on this day, even if you didn't know the overall result. It was a grind against the stout Denver D. The Cowboys will look for better results in Week 3 in Arizona on Monday Night Football.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott finally tops Giants

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 20:18:50 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 24 of his 39 pass attempts for 268 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 1 win against the Giants. He also added three rushes for 24 yards.

Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys lost just three regular-season games in 2016, and the Giants accounted for two of them, so Prescott exorcised some demons. It also helps that Odell Beckham Jr. was sidelined due to injury. Prescott also had Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield, which was helpful to keep the pressure off of him. He plays behind one of the best offensive lines in football and will remains a borderline low-end QB1 or high-end QB2 depending on the matchup.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott to play full half?

Thu, 24 Aug 2017 14:16:41 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott said he anticipates playing the entire first half of the Cowboys' Week 3 preseason game. He would even like to play into the third quarter, but admitted that will be up to head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: The third game of the preseason is generally considered the dress rehearsal for the starters, so extended playing time is to be expected. Entering his sophomore season, Prescott represents a serviceable low-end QB1 to high-end QB2. He may be relied on more during the first half of the season with Ezekiel Elliott suspended.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott in sync with Dez Bryant

Sun, 20 Aug 2017 19:08:29 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott said having WR Dez Bryant healthy all offseason has allowed their "chemistry" to grow.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has been boom or bust in recent years, but he should still be treated as a high-upside WR2 or low-end WR1. Prescott has QB1 potential after an impressive rookie season, but the small sample size is something to consider.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott sharp in limited action

Sat, 19 Aug 2017 17:06:58 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott went 7-of-8 for 106 yards and one touchdown in two series against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Prescott had little issue against the Colts' suspect defense on the opening drive, leading a 95-yard drive in seven plays before hitting Dez Bryant on a 32-yard score. The Cowboys are going to need more from Prescott during Ezekiel Elliott's absence and, at least in this contest, he was up to the challenge. The second-year quarterback profiles as a low-end QB1 this season.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott taking the next step

Wed, 24 May 2017 20:53:39 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has emerged as a more vocal leader entering his second season, and quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson recently said he's seen nothing from Prescott that should worry anyone about the reigning rookie of the year taking his foot off the gas. "There has been no complacency at all. Nothing is too big for that kid. He's improved strength-wise, flexibility-wise, speed-wise, quickness-wise, so he's not resting on anything that went on last year," Wilson said.

Fantasy Tip: Prescott never did look like a rookie in 2016, so we shouldn't be all that surprised he seems to be ahead of the curve entering his second year either. The Cowboys will remain a run-oriented offense, but there's really no reason to believe Prescott can't continue to perform at the fantasy QB1 level he did for the bulk of last season.
