Bengals | Joe Mixon in good shape

Thu, 19 Jul 2018 09:33:30 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon has shed weight this offseason, going from 230 pounds to 218 pounds. "I feel like that's where I play my best," Mixon said. "I was trying to get last year but I wasn't able to make it. I feel real good. My body feels real good. I feel like I'm in really good shape."

Fantasy Tip: This is the kind of stuff you want to hear during the offseason. Mixon held his own as a rookie behind a suspect line, but he was considered by and large to be a disappointment. With an improved line and an improved physique, Mixon is primed to reach low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 status.

Bengals | Joe Mixon headed for 1,000 yards?

Sun, 24 Jun 2018 20:33:25 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon should break 1,000 yards behind a revamped offensive line this season, in the opinion of Gil Brandt of NFL.com.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon struggled with efficiency as a rookie, but he still finished with 913 yards from scrimmage while starting just seven games. As the unquestioned starter in 2018, he should at least provide RB2 production.

Bengals | Joe Mixon has dropped weight

Mon, 16 Apr 2018 14:48:23 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon has decreased his weight to 225 pounds this offseason after weighing in at 238 pounds last offseason. The sophomore running back plans to lose five more pounds before the season begins.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon held his own behind a subpar offensive line as a rookie. With an improved line and improve physique, Mixon should be ready to better his numbers in his second year. As it stands, Mixon can be drafted as a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 despite yielding touches to Giovani Bernard.

Bengals | Joe Mixon will be bell cow back

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 11:13:55 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon will be the featured running back with RB Giovani Bernard mixed in, according to director of player personnel Duke Tobin.

Fantasy Tip: This was to be expected, especially with the departure of Jeremy Hill. The Bengals need to better fortify their offensive line to give Mixon better opportunities for success, but Mixon has an RB2 floor if he can keep good health.

Bengals | Joe Mixon could play in Week 17

Sun, 31 Dec 2017 05:13:42 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is still considered a game-time decision for Week 17's game against the Baltimore Ravens, although he is expected to be active. He wants to test the injury during pregame warmups before an official decision is made.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon was officially listed as questionable on the injury report but was a limited practice participant during the team's two final sessions during the week. If he is active, he should be viewed as nothing more than a flex option.
