Bengals | Joe Mixon not happy with workload

Mon, 23 Oct 2017 11:30:06 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon was not give a single carry in the second half of the Bengals' Week 7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mixon verbalized his feelings, saying it was difficult watching Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell carry the football 35 times while he was a non-factor in the second half. The rookie running back ran the ball well in the first half, too, averaging 6.9 yards per carry.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon's frustrations are logical. The Bengals ditched the talented rookie despite his successful first half. Next week is a prime opportunity for Cincinnati to recompense as the Bengals face off against one of the worst rush defenses in the NFL in the Indianapolis Colts. Try to put this game in the past and start Mixon as an RB2.

Bengals | Limited touches for Joe Mixon

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 20:48:44 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon finished with seven carries for 48 yards and three catches for 20 yards in a 29-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon still led all backs in carries, and he was efficient with the touches he did receive. The Bengals couldn't establish a rhythm on offense against the Steelers, but Mixon should see a more typical workload against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.

Bengals | Joe Mixon scores in Week 5

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 18:20:40 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon rushed 15 times for 51 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: It wasn't a bad performance for the rookie, as the Bills have been stout against the run this season. The rookie is clearly the top banana in Cincinnati right now, as he had 15 total touches to just four for Jeremy Hill and four for Giovani Bernard. The Bengals are off in Week 6 before returning in Week 7 on the road against the Steelers.

Bengals | Joe Mixon held in check

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 13:16:03 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon rushed for 29 yards on 17 carries against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4. He also caught four passes for 19 yards during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon has become the leading running back for the Bengals but did not have much success against the Browns. He will continue to see a significant amount of touches moving forward and can be a No. 2 fantasy running back against the Buffalo Bills next week.

Bengals | Joe Mixon receives majority of snaps

Mon, 25 Sep 2017 15:30:41 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon received 34 offensive snaps in the team's Week 3 game. RB Jeremy Hill received 14 snaps, while RB Giovani Bernard received 13 snaps.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Mixon will be the No. 1 running back for the Bengals moving forward, which makes him a valuable option for fantasy owners. He can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option most weeks. Hill can be considered a flex option against certain opponents in standard leagues, while Bernard can be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

Bengals | Joe Mixon logs 18 carries

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 19:38:14 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon finished with a team-high 18 carries for 62 yards and three catches for 39 yards in a 27-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon had 11 more carries than Jeremy Hill, the biggest discrepancy so far this season. It's too soon to tell if the trend will continue, but the needle is pointing up for Mixon, and he could soon find himself entrenched as a RB2.

Bengals | Bigger role expected for Joe Mixon

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 07:18:14 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon is expected to receive a bigger role in the offense under new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon has not been a big factor on offense so far this season with 45 rushing yards and 20 receiving yards in two games. He could become the starting running back in the near future but likely will still have to share work with Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard. Mixon has the potential to be a productive fantasy option and can be at least a flex option if he receives the majority of the touches.

Bengals | Joe Mixon leads team in rushing

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 21:36:25 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon gained 36 yards on nine carries against the Houston Texans Thursday, Sept. 14, both of which led the team. He added one reception for five yards.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon's modest 4.0 YPC in Week 2 dwarfed those of Gio Bernard (2.0 YPC) and Jeremy Hill (2.8), though a long gain of seven yards tells you there was nothing explosive about Cincy's offense Thursday night. The Bengals will have a few extra days to regroup before Week 3, so we'll see if they solider on with their three-headed approach to the running game. Mixon's upside is too high to cut him loose at this juncture.

Bengals | Joe Mixon mostly bottled up

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 18:20:42 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals rookie RB Joe Mixon rushed eight times for just nine yards in Week 1 against the Ravens and he added three grabs for 15 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Mixon, Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard each split the tailback duties fairly evenly in the opener, but Bernard did the most with his opportunities. Mixon has a ton of upside and will be a fantasy stud before too long, but avoid using him in Week 2 against Houston on a short week.

Bengals | Cincinnati to utilize hot hand at RB

Fri, 08 Sep 2017 09:17:26 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RBs Jeremy Hill, Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard are expected to begin the season in a committee, according to running backs coach Kyle Caskey. "You plan initially for it and try to put guys in the right places for what their talents can do and once the game gets going there is a flow to it. If a guy does have a little juice to him at that time then you stick with him," Caskey said.

Fantasy Tip: The Bengals have a history of taking it easy on their rookie running backs, but it seems a bit ridiculous in this case, as Hill hasn't been very effective or efficient since his rookie season in 2014. Mixon is the superior talent, so owners need to remain patient. About the only near-certainties in Cincinnati's backfield are that Bernard is expected to see most of the third-down work and Hill is likely to get the bulk of the work at the goal line. It's up to Mixon to make it obvious he needs to be playing the rest of the time.
