Colts | Marlon Mack week-to-week

Fri, 10 Aug 2018 15:13:24 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) is considered week-to-week because of a hamstring injury, according to head coach Frank Reich.

Fantasy Tip: The Colts likely will take things slow with Mack because it is a hamstring injury. Owners should monitor the situation because Mack probably will lead the team in carries in 2018. Mack can be considered a No. 3 receiver if he is healthy for Week 1.

Colts | Marlon Mack likely to miss 'a few weeks'

Fri, 10 Aug 2018 12:29:36 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) is expected to miss a few weeks with a "manageable hamstring strain," according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, who adds the team is still awaiting final confirmation.

Fantasy Tip: Robert Turbin got a bit of early run for the Colts after Mack left Thursday, but he will be serving a suspension to begin the season. It's very likely Indianapolis will give rookies Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines some more opportunities as the preseason progresses, and those two players should be the ones owners are targeting in fantasy drafts after Mack. The Colts' backfield figures to be a committee attack all season long.

Colts | Marlon Mack tweaks hamstring

Thu, 09 Aug 2018 20:07:33 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) exited the preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks with a hamstring injury Thursday, Aug. 9, and won't return.

Fantasy Tip: Mack was expected to be the starter for the Colts, and if the injury turns out to be serious, Robert Turbin, Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines could all see more touches. Thanks to his pass-catching prowess, Hines would likely have the easiest path to fantasy relevance.

Colts | Owner high on Marlon Mack

Sat, 04 Aug 2018 10:04:39 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack has the chance to rush for 1,500 yards this season, in the opinion of owner Jim Irsay.

Fantasy Tip: Mack likely is the leading candidate for the starting running back job and could receive a solid amount of carries during the season. He may not rush for 1,500 yards like Irsay indicated but could be a No. 3 running back in most standard leagues.

Colts | Marlon Mack played with injury in 2017

Wed, 25 Jul 2018 13:32:23 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack said he played last season with a shoulder injury he suffered last training camp but has recovered from offseason surgery and is ready for camp this season,

Fantasy Tip: Mack appears to be the leading candidate for the starting running back job and should see a lot of work during the preseason. He posted decent numbers in 2017 despite the injury and has a chance to be a valuable fantasy option if he starts. Owners in most leagues could consider him a No. 2 or No. 3 back.

Colts | Marlon Mack the early favorite at RB

Mon, 07 May 2018 21:00:51 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack "remains the favorite to slide into the starting role" left behind by Frank Gore and "assume whatever the Colts consider a No. 1 running back in 2018," according to the Indianapolis Star's Zak Keefer.

Fantasy Tip: The Colts did not give Mack any true competition in the form of an early-round running back in the draft and have yet to sign a free agent who could push him. While telling The Star that Mack needs to improve in pass pro, general manager Chris Ballard also said "everything with Marlon was better than I expected, everything." Indianapolis will probably open the season with a committee backfield, but Mack should be given a shot to run away with the job if he starts fast. He's a high-upside, high-end flex option for now.

Colts | Marlon Mack had torn labrum as rookie

Tue, 01 May 2018 20:11:28 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (shoulder) played with a torn labrum in 2017, according to general manager Chris Ballard. Mack underwent offseason shoulder surgery to repair the tear and expects to be fully healthy by training camp.

Fantasy Tip: The Colts did very little to address the running back position in the draft or free agency, so this is Mack's backfield to lead despite head coach Frank Reich suggesting his team doesn't have a starting running back right now. At the very least, Mack figures to nearly double his 93 carries from a season ago, which would make him a strong flex option and possible RB2 given his big-play ability.

Colts | Marlon Mack in a committee?

Sat, 28 Apr 2018 19:01:17 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack is not the clear starter, according to head coach Frank Reich. "I'm fine with running back by committee," Reich said.

Fantasy Tip: Mack should still be considered the frontrunner to start, but he could share touches with Nyheim Hines and others. Mack looks like a RB3 candidate at this point.

Colts | Marlon Mack bulking up

Fri, 13 Apr 2018 20:45:43 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack said he is working with the team nutritionist to add a few pounds this offseason in order to handle more carries.

Fantasy Tip: If the Colts don't add another back early in the draft, Mack could be given a chance to lead the backfield in 2018. In that scenario, he would be worth grabbing as a RB3.
