Cardinals | Chad Williams makes positive impact

Fri, 17 Aug 2018 22:31:16 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Chad Williams turned heads in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 17, against the New Orleans Saints, posting three receptions for 33 yards. He and WR Christian Kirk made their presence felt, much to the delight of head coach Steve Wilks. "I definitely did," Wilks said. "Those guys did a great job."

Fantasy Tip: Williams and Kirk stepped up with Brice Butler (foot) sidelined, as they battle JJ Nelson and others for depth chart position. As far as Williams is concerned, it was redemption, as he had several drops in practice on Wednesday. His coach said he would "catch everything" in the game, and Wilks proved prophetic since Williams didn't have any miscues. For now, Williams is only worth a late-round flier in the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Cardinals | Christian Kirk to have small role?

Thu, 19 Jul 2018 19:01:02 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk is not in the mix for the No. 2 receiver job, according to Mike Jurecki of 98.7 Arizona, and Jurecki believes either WR Chad Williams, WR JJ Nelson or WR Brice Butler will win the job.

Fantasy Tip: Kirk could still have a role in the passing attack as a rookie, a role that could grow as the season goes on. He is still worth a flier at the end of drafts, and his long-term upside makes him a potential first-round option in rookie drafts.
