San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) is hopeful to be back in the lineup early in the week, according to manager Bruce Bochy, but the team may have to place him on the disabled list if that's not the case.
Fantasy Tip: Pagan should be benched until a decision is made, either way, on his playing time. Daily leagues are best off benching him and playing OF Gregor Blanco instead, but weekly and annual leagues need Pagan out of their lineup until he returns and gets a few games under his belt.

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (groin) is expected to return to the lineup Friday, May 6, against the Colorado Rockies, according to manager Bruce Bochy.
Fantasy Tip: Kelby Tomlinson has done a fine job of filling in for Panik lately with three straight two-hit games, although all six hits have been singles. The Giants will be happy to get their regular second baseman back, as he provides a little bit more pop at the top of the order (three homers, 12 RBIs in 93 at-bats this season). He should be immediately inserted back in lineups Friday, assuming he doesn't suffer a setback.

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (groin) won't be ready to play until Tuesday, May 3, at the earliest due to a groin injury, according to manager Bruce Bochy.
Fantasy Tip: Panik hasn't played since Friday and apparently won't go in Monday's opener against the Cincinnati Reds either, although it sounds like owners won't have to wait too much longer for him. Kelby Tomlinson should get another start Monday, but he isn't a recommended fantasy option.

San Francisco Giants OF Hunter Pence (Achilles') is expected to make his Cactus League debut on Friday, March 11, according to manager Bruce Bochy.
Fantasy Tip: Pence is apparently over the Achilles' inflammation that caused him to take it easy about 10 days ago. The 32-year-old is hoping to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2015 season and is no longer a threat for 20 steals but can still hit for power when healthy. Owners should continue to monitor his health this month and consider him a reasonably strong third outfielder for fantasy purposes.

San Francisco Giants 2B Marco Scutaro (pinkie) could return to the lineup Tuesday, June 18, according to manager Bruce Bochy.

San Francisco Giants RP George Kontos has been optioned to Triple-A Fresno. He was ejected in the eighth inning of the team's game versus the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, June 11, for beaning OF Andrew McCutchen. Two batters prior, Kontos threw behind OF Starling Marte and received a warning from the umpire. The reliever didn't admit that his offerings were intentional, but Giants 2B Marco Scutaro had already left the contest because he'd been hit in the left hand with a pitch. Kontos and manager Bruce Bochy are likely to receive disciplinary action from the league.
In a corresponding move, RP Sandy Rosario has been recalled from Fresno.

An MRI exam on San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan's (groin) right leg revealed a strained groin rather than a hamstring injury, which caused him to miss games Sunday and Monday, May 5 and 6, before he returned Tuesday, May 7. He was held out of the lineup Wednesday, May 8. "Angel is feeling better," manager Bruce Bochy said. "He can play but I want to be cautious with him. The last thing we need is a setback. We feel like this will go away."
