The Toronto Blue Jays have not made it official, but it's hard to believe they will use SP Mark Buehrle as the opening day starter, or any time during the first road series against the New York Yankees. Buehrle owns a 1-14 lifetime mark against the Yankees with an ERA of 6.21 and a WHIP of 1.571 in 21 career starts. And since joining the Jays, he has a 6.82 ERA with a 1.545 WHIP against the Bronx Bombers.
Fantasy Tip: It is likely Buehrle will be held out of the Yankees series, pitching in the second road series of the season in Baltimore, a team he has fared a little better against in his career. FantasyScore owners need to file away his awful, awful history against the Yankees and avoid him at all costs.

Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle allowed six runs and nine hits over three innings Friday, July 25, against the New York Yankees, his shortest outing since June 6, 2010, when he was a member of the Chicago White Sox. He hasn't beaten the Yankees since 2004, and the Blue Jays have dropped 17 straight road games against the Yankees, a skid which started September 2012. It is the longest losing streak at one opponent since the Tampa Bay Rays lost 18 in a row on the road against the Cleveland Indians from September 2005 to July 2010.
Fantasy Tip: Buehrle started the season 10-1, and was a huge sell-high fantasy candidate. He is now 0-6 with a 4.83 ERA over his past nine starts since his last victory June 1.
Fri, 11 Jul 2014 15:15:57 -0700
Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle has allowed seven home runs in his last six starts. He only allowed two home runs through his first 12 starts.
Fantasy Tip: Buehrle pitched way over his head to start the season and has now lost five of his last six starts. He is slowly regressing back to the low-end mixed league starter he has been throughout the majority of his career.
