New York Mets SPs Bartolo Colon, Jacob deGrom and Matt Harvey will pitch the first three games of the season against the Washington Nationals, according to manager Terry Collins.
Fantasy Tip: Colon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap), deGrom ($7,100, 14.2% of cap) and Harvey ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) are risky options for FantasyScore players with the Mets visiting the high-powered Nationals in their season-opening series. Still, deGrom and Harvey have the strikeout upside to offset some of the risk of a potent line, Colon, though, doesn't.

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon's scheduled final two Grapefruit League starts would line up with him starting opening day, but manager Terry Collins didn't make an official announcement. Colon will make his starts next week in minor league games in order to avoid facing the Washington Nationals, the Mets' opening day opponent.
Fantasy Tip: Colon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) is a poor option for FantasyScore games in the season opener since the Nationals project to be one of the better offenses in baseball. He's also nothing more than a late-round rotation filler in large mixed leagues.

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon is in the running to start Opening Day against the Washington Nationals April 6. According to multiple sources, Colon and one unnamed starter are being considered by team officials to make the start.
Fantasy Tip: The 41-year-old Colon has made six career Opening Day starts and topped 200 innings last season for the first time since 2005. His record (15-13) and ERA (4.09) were mediocre, but he struck out approximately five batters for every walk he allowed. Given his age, he could be available in the later rounds of mixed fantasy league drafts.

The New York Mets are actively trying to deal SPs Bartolo Colon, Dillon Gee and Jon Niese, but the market so far has been thin. The Mets have a solid core of young pitchers developing and would like to use the starters as bait to fill other holes.

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon, Arizona Diamondbacks SP Trevor Cahill, Houston Astros SP Scott Feldman and Philadelphia Phillies SP A.J. Burnett have interested the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as they search to replace SP Garrett Richards (knee) in their starting rotation. Ps Randy Wolf, Chris Volstad and Michael Roth are the Angels' current in-house options. Burnett is believed not to want to go to the West Coast. Colon may be the best option, but the Angels may face competition from other teams looking to beef up their rotations.
