Rangers | Adrian Beltre moving up list

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 23:03:24 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre clubbed his 407th career home run Wednesday, Aug. 26, against the Toronto Blue Jays. He tied Hall of Famer Duke Snider for 51st on the career homers list.

Fantasy Tip: Beltre ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has driven in 12 runs over his past 11 games, and he is hitting .297 (27-for-91) in the month of August, his highest average in any month this season.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre likes facing Iwakuma

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 15:34:07 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre has a .333/.371/.636 triple slash line with three home runs and five doubles in 35 career plate appearances against Seattle Mariners SP Hisashi Iwakuma, who he faces Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Tip: With Iwakuma having thrown a no-hitter in his last outing last week, many folks on FantasyScore may be avoiding the Rangers lineup altogether. That'd be a mistake, as Beltre ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is intriguing as a contrarian play.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre reaches milestone

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 05:22:34 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre hit his 10th home run of the season Saturday, Aug. 15, and he has now reached double figures in home run totals in 16 consecutive seasons. New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez with 18 straight seasons is the only player with more.

Fantasy Tip: Beltre ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) hadn't homered or hit for extra bases in nine consecutive games. It's been a down year for Beltre, but he still has upside to offer. He should be used more frequently in GPP tournaments than in cash games.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre hits for cycle

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 21:58:16 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre hit for the cycle Monday, Aug. 3, against the Houston Astros, finishing with two runs scored and three RBIs. Beltre is the fourth player in major league history to hit for the cycle three times in a career. Of the last eight cycles in the majors, the Rangers have posted four of them.

Fantasy Tip: Beltre ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) is hitting .500 (12-for-24) with five RBIs over his past six games. He has heated up and is enjoying his best stretch of the season, so roll with him in FantasyScore until he cools down.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre belts No. 8

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 06:38:22 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI during the Rangers 6-3 win over the San Francisco Giants Friday, July 31.

Fantasy Tip: Beltre ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) has been a major disappointment in 2015, as he has battled injuries and returned just eight home runs and 27 RBI with a. 259/.302/.392 slash line. At 36, there is a chance Beltre is reaching the twilight of his career, and don't rule out the disappointments continuing through the end of the season.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre still dealing with injury

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 14:53:37 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre (thumb) said the All-Star break did not help his sore thumb and continues to search for a way to heal his thumb. Beltre said he does not know if he should be playing with the injury.

Fantasy Tip: Beltre ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has picked up at least one hit in six of his last seven games despite his injury. He has one home run and five RBI in his last 21 games and may not be a top-notch option for owners on FantasyScore since the injury is affecting his power.

Rangers | Texas has struggled against Sonny Gray

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 10:01:19 -0700

Texas Rangers SS Elvis Andrus, OF Leonys Martin, 3B Adrian Beltre, 2B Rougned Odor and C Robinson Chirinos are a combined .128 (14-for-109) in their careers against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray, who they face Thursday, June 25.

Fantasy Tip: None of the players mentioned for Texas are hitting particularly well at this time, either, so it's best to stay away from them on FantasyScore this afternoon. Beltre ($4,800, 9.6% of cap), who came off the DL early the other day, is still swinging with pain in his thumb.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre not 100%

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 16:15:13 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre (thumb) is not 100% after being activated from the disabled list Tuesday, June 23. "I don't pretend to think he's 100%, but whether we wait a week or have him go take a few at-bats on rehab, it was going to be there a while," general manager Jon Daniels added. "He's not going to further hurt himself, we've been told. It's not a surgery. The doctors say he's not risking anything. Today, he felt like he took another step forward."

Fantasy Tip: It sounds as if the Rangers were desperate for a power-hitting righty bat after they've been grounded against lefties lately. It's unknown how Beltre's gimpy thumb will affect his power stroke at the plate, so it's best to hold off on using him on FantasyScore for $4,800 (9.6% of cap) for the time being.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre activated from DL

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 15:45:50 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre (thumb) was activated from the disabled list Tuesday, June 23.

Fantasy Tip: It's a bit of a surprising move, as Beltre ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) was expected to need more time for his thumb to heal. Take a wait-and-see approach with Beltre on FantasyScore to see how he fares at the plate with a likely less than 100% thumb. He's hitting cleanup tonight against Oakland Athletics starter Jesse Chavez.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre still can't swing

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 08:57:19 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre (thumb) is still unable to swing a bat, but the stitches in his left thumb have been removed. Beltre has been playing catch every day in the interim. "I've tried every day," Beltre said. "It's not as close as I want it. I'm not happy, but what can I do, get a disposable thumb?"

Fantasy Tip: Hanser Alberto ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) hasn't done much in Beltre's absence, but he's hitting .274. He'll continue to fill in while Beltre is out. Beltre will need at least a week of swings and a potential rehab assignment before returning.
