Brewers | Elian Herrera draws start at 3B

Mon, 18 May 2015 11:32:44 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Elian Herrera is starting at third base and hitting sixth in the batting order against Detroit Tigers SP Kyle Lobstein Monday, May 18, with 3B Aramis Ramirez serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,000, 4.0% of cap), a switch hitter, surprisingly has four home runs and 10 RBI on the season in 62 at-bats. It's worth noting that three of his four homers have come against southpaws, making him an interesting deep sleeper at FantasyScore on a day without many games to choose from.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez stout in return

Fri, 15 May 2015 19:30:30 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (back) returned from a six-game absence and went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a 7-0 win over the New York Mets Friday, May 15.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) was hitting well prior to the injury, and he picked up where he left off. You should feel comfortable using him at FantasyScore going forward.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez hopes for Friday return

Thu, 14 May 2015 05:11:35 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (back) hopes to return to active duty Friday, May 15, following a six-game layoff. He plans to work out Thursday, May 14, by taking grounders and hitting in the batting cage.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) may be a bit rusty upon returning, so it's best to leave him alone for a day or two while he works out any kinks in his swing.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez not starting again

Wed, 13 May 2015 11:38:45 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (back) continues to sit out Wednesday, May 13. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at third base again and hitting sixth in the batting order against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is only hitting .228 (13-for-62), but he does have some pop with four home runs and 10 RBI on the season. He also fares much better against lefties this year (.313-3-4) than against righties. Herrera, who homered last night, may be a sneaky value play at FantasyScore.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez expects to avoid DL

Mon, 11 May 2015 13:56:03 -0700

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (back) was encouraged by the results of the MRI exam on his lower back Monday, May 11, and he expects to avoid a stint on the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners will want to be patient with Ramirez ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) in seasonal formats, because he was heating up at the dish with three home runs and nine RBI over his last 13 games before the injury. It would be wise to fade him in FantasyScore contests until he returns and proves his health, though. Continue to check back for updates on his injury status.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez out again Monday

Mon, 11 May 2015 13:36:09 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (back) is not in the starting lineup against the Chicago White Sox Monday, May 11. OF Elian Herrera is starting at third base and batting seventh Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) hasn't played since Thursday, May 7, and a stint on the disabled list looms if he cannot play sooner than later. He was just turning the corner offensively before the injury, too, going 14-for-41 with three home runs and nine RBI over his last 13 games. Herrera ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) should be viewed as nothing more than a low-priced flier for FantasyScore contests.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez not starting

Sun, 10 May 2015 08:16:03 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (back) is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 10.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez's ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) injury likely is keeping out for another game, but it does not appear to be a long-term injury. Elian Herrera ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will be the starting third baseman but is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez expected back

Sat, 09 May 2015 20:43:04 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (back) is expected to return to the lineup Sunday, May 10, after a two-game absence.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been swinging the bat well in recent weeks, but it is still a little risky to use him at FantasyScore in his first game back.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez sitting out

Sat, 09 May 2015 15:07:21 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez is out of the lineup Saturday, May 9.

Fantasy Tip: Elian Herrera ($2,000, 4.0% of your cap) isn't worth the spot start on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez expects to play Sunday

Sat, 02 May 2015 12:36:53 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (hamstring) was out of the starting lineup for the second consecutive game because of tightness in his left hamstring Saturday, May 2. He expects to return to the lineup against the Chicago Cubs Sunday, May 3.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is off to a slow start offensively, with only two homers and seven RBIs through his first 20 games. He can be avoided in FantasyScore for the time being, with other third basemen who are available for a similar price outperforming him.
