Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura addressed rumors that he wants out of Chicago with a firm denial. "For one reason or another, there is a whisper that because it is going the way it is, I am not going to come back," Ventura said before the game. "That is the furthest thing from the truth. For me, I'm in it for as long as I'm in it, and then you go from there." Ventura returned over the weekend after a two-game absence to watch his daughter's high school graduation in California.

Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn is confident in CL Addison Reed to open up the season as the ninth-inning pitcher, but Hahn said he wants manager Robin Ventura to have flexibility to use other relievers like RP's Matt Thornton, Jesse Crain and Matt Lindstrom.
