Free-agent 3B Chase Headley (Yankees) is a high priority for the team this year, despite the impending return of 3B Alex Rodriguez. The Yankees don't think Rodriguez will be able to play third base on a daily basis next season, according to a source. Headley played in 58 games for the Yankees this year after being acquired in a midseason trade. The source said the Yanks "are looking at Headley to start at third, play some DH, and back up (the oft-injured) Mark Teixeira at first base."

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez admitted to performance-enhancing drug use in January to DEA agents that granted him immunity. The Miami Herald reviewed a 15-page synopsis of Rodriguez's meeting with the feds. According to a written "report of investigation," Rodriguez admitted paying Biogenesis founder Tony Bosch for supplies of testosterone cream, lozenges laced with testosterone (aka "gummies") and human growth hormone injections. "Rodriguez injected the HGH into his stomach," the DEA report stated. "Rodriguez said Bosch told him the HGH would help with sleep, weight, hair growth, eyesight and muscle recovery." Rodriguez also described how Bosch gave the ballplayer "tips on how to beat MLB's drug testing," according to the DEA report.

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez officially has been reinstated from the restricted list following the completion of the World Series Wednesday, Oct. 29. He missed the entire 2014 season while being suspended following MLB's investigation of the Biogenesis case. Rodriguez has three years and $61 million remaining on his contract.

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez will not be guaranteed a starting spot when he returns next season, according to manager Joe Girardi. Rodriguez will be removed from the restricted list at the end of the World Series. "Do we expect him to be a player on our team? Absolutely," Girardi said. "Do we expect him to play third base? Yes, (but) in fairness we have to see where he is at."

MLB commissioner Bud Selig said the league wasn't aware of any exemption that New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez had to use a testosterone-boosting substance in 2007. "We did not know about it at the time," Selig said. "These independent people made a judgment. History proved them I guess it turned out to be somewhat wrong, but they were outstanding doctors."

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is being sued by his own lawyer, David Cornwell, who says Rodriguez owes more than $380,000 related to their work fighting his steroid suspension. Cornwell's firm is also seeking pre-judgment interest and attorney fees that could increase the amount to half a million dollars.
