Yankees | Alex Rodriguez not playing Tuesday

Tue, 19 May 2015 12:04:06 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup without the designated hitter in play in a National League park Tuesday, May 19.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) could lose more playing time this week in the series against the Washington Nationals, so be wary of relying on him at FantasyScore until later this week.

Yankees | A-Rod tearing up Tampa Bay

Mon, 11 May 2015 22:51:05 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday, May 12, against the Tampa Bay Rays. He had some left hamstring tightness in the game, but was able to stay in.

Fantasy Tip: A-Rod has 50 homers in 209 career games against the Rays, including three homers and five RBIs this season. He has reached base safely in 11 of his 19 plate appearances in four road games against Tampa Bay. FantasyScore players will want to roll with him at just $4,800 (or 9.6% of cap) while the Bronx Bombers are in St. Pete.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez back in lineup

Sun, 10 May 2015 07:22:06 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is back in the lineup Sunday, May 10, against the Baltimore Orioles. Rodriguez will bat third in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has at least one hit in seven of his last eight games. With five extra-base hits in that span, Rodriguez is a reliable option on FantasyScore.

Yankees | A-Rod sits with tightness

Sat, 09 May 2015 16:03:42 -0700

Updating an earlier report, New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez (legs) sat out Saturday, May 9, due to leg tightness.

Fantasy Tip: A-Rod ($4,800, 9.6% of your cap) is likely to return to the lineup tomorrow and remains a midrange 3B option.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez not playing

Sat, 09 May 2015 08:45:57 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup Saturday, May 9.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has played well this season but is receiving a day off. Chris Young ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is receiving a start Saturday and could be a solid starting option for owners on FantasyScore.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez hits home run No. 661

Thu, 07 May 2015 17:17:04 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez hit his 661st career home run Thursday, May 7, against the Baltimore Orioles. Rodriguez passed Willie Mays for fourth on the MLB's all-time home run list.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez's ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) batting average has fallen to .231 after a very hot start to the 2015 season, although a .250 BABIP can take the majority of the blame. Rodriguez is still drawing a walk 15.0% of the time and his current .264 ISO is slightly above his career average. Rodriguez should be a part of any Yankees stacks in favorable matchups on FantasyScore.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez ties Willie Mays

Fri, 01 May 2015 19:03:08 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez hit a pinch-hit, solo home run against the Boston Red Sox Friday, May 1, to tie Willie Mays for fourth on the all-time list with 660 home runs.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has slowed down a bit after a hot start, but he still has six homers and a .557 slugging percentage. His power potential makes him a high-risk, high-reward option at FantasyScore.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez sitting vs. Boston

Fri, 01 May 2015 12:50:33 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup against the Boston Red Sox Friday, May 1. 1B Garrett Jones is hitting seventh as the designated hitter Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Rodriguez ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats Friday. He is rewarding those who took a speculative leap of faith with him this season, though. He has 13 runs, five home runs and 13 RBI, although his batting average is just .232. Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is off to a miserable start and just 5-for-27 at the dish. Consider him a low-priced flier for FantasyScore contests, but you should aim higher at first base.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez slumping

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 15:43:23 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez went 0-for-6 with four strikeouts in a loss Wednesday, April 29, and he is 5-for-36 (.139) since April 17, when he hit two home runs. The four-strikeout game was just his fifth four-strikeout game of his career and first since 2008. He remains one home run shy of tying Willie Mays for fourth place on the all-time home run list with 660.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez's ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) slump of late is leading his owners to wonder whether his quick start was a mirage. It remains to be seen, but until he picks things back up, it might be a good idea to avoid him at FantasyScore, depending on the matchup. Trying to get career homer No. 660 out of the way could be causing him to press at the plate, too.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez not playing Tuesday

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 12:40:37 -0700

New York Yankees DH Alex Rodriguez is out of the lineup Tuesday, April 28, against the Tampa Bay Rays. 1B Garrett Jones is the DH.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is likely sitting because the Rays have a right-handed pitcher (Jake Odorizzi) in the lineup. The timing is a little weird because he is close to his 660th home run, but it's conventional baseball logic. Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) isn't a bad replacement for one night.
