Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins leading off vs. Athletics

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 15:38:26 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins is leading off against Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Chavez Wednesday, July 29.

Fantasy Tip: Rollins ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) gains value setting the table for the Dodgers, however, he is having one of the worst seasons of his career, if not the worst. He has a .221/.293/.456 slash line in July, which doesn't turn heads, but Rollins does sport respectable counting stats with 11 runs, four home runs and 10 RBI this month. FantasyScore players could roll the dice with the veteran shortstop.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins on the bench

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 14:04:28 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins is not in the starting lineup against Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood Tuesday, July 21. OF Enrique Hernandez will start at shortstop and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rollins ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting .262 in limited playing time this season but owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins still in team's plans

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 10:26:25 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins could become a trade candidate in August if he's passed through waivers, but team brass loves Rollins on the field and in the clubhouse, and he's earned a lot of rope, even with SS Corey Seager breathing down his neck by hitting .375 at Class AAA Oklahoma City. The Dodgers need to be totally certain Seager can succeed in the majors before giving up on Rollins.

Fantasy Tip: Rollins ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) would almost certainly find himself in a bench role if he's traded this summer. The way he's hitting, he's only useful in the deepest of leagues, and he's a weak play on FantasyScore. Seager needs to be stashed away in NL-only leagues now, and he should be already owned in all keeper and dynasty formats.

Dodgers | L.A. not rushing Corey Seager

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 11:41:39 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager will eventually replace SS Jimmy Rollins at shortstop, but the Dodgers are in no hurry to promote their top prospect after he struggled for three weeks after being called up to Class AAA in May.

Fantasy Tip: Seager should already be owned in all dynasty and keeper formats, and he's even worth stashing in NL-only leagues if you have the room. He'll be a popular waiver wire commodity whenever he does come up, but there's no guarantee that'll come this season.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins plans to play next year

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 16:07:55 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins said he plans on playing another season.

Fantasy Tip: At the age of 36, Rollins ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is definitely showing his age, at least at the plate. He's hitting only .208 (60-for-289) with seven home runs and 24 RBI. There's no guarantee that Rollins will be back with the Dodgers, either, with Corey Seager knocking on the door at shortstop. Rollins is unlikely to be an option in shallow mixed drafts next spring.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins not in Sunday lineup

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 13:01:41 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins is not in the starting lineup Sunday, July 5. SS Enrique Hernandez is batting leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: Rollins ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is getting a simple day off, so remove him from the lineup accordingly. Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is 3-for-7 in his past two games and is worth a flyer in FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins in two-hole Thursday

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 10:22:13 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins is hitting second against Chicago Cubs SP Jon Lester Thursday, June 25.

Fantasy Tip: Rollins ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is definitely looking his age this year (.205-7-18). He's hitting just .214 (9-for-42) with one of his seven home runs against left-handed pitching. He's a candidate to avoid today on FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins out Monday

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 13:46:03 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins is not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs left-handed SP Tsuyoshi Wada Monday, June 22. OF Enrique Hernandez is starting at the 6 and hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) would strictly be a deep sleeper play with the wind blowing out at Wrigley tonight against Wada. Hernandez is hitting .310 (9-for-29) against lefties in a small sample size.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins returns

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 16:21:34 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins will return to the starting lineup Thursday, June 18, against the Texas Rangers. Rollins will bat eighth in the order against RHP Anthony Ranaudo.

Fantasy Tip: Rollins ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is just 2-for-20 in his last six games, and he should be avoided on FantasyScore for the time being.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins out Wednesday

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 16:41:36 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins isn't in the start lineup Wednesday, June 17, against the Texas Rangers. OF Enrique Hernandez will start at shortstop and hit seventh in the order against LHP Wandy Rodriguez.

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting a more-than-adequate .280 off southpaws this season, with four singles and three doubles. FantasyScore owners in need of cap relief can give some consideration to Hernandez for their GPP lineups.
