White Sox | Jimmy Rollins released

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 08:46:41 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Jimmy Rollins was released Wednesday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Rollins had been designated for assignment by the Pale Hose after hitting just .221 with two home runs and eight RBI in 149 at-bats this year. The 37-year-old doesn't have much left to offer major league clubs besides maybe veteran leadership in the clubhouse. If he does latch on with another team, he won't provide much fantasy value at all.

White Sox | Tim Anderson called up

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 09:02:06 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson was called up from Class AAA Charlotte Friday, June 10. SS Jimmy Rollins was designated for assignment to make room for Anderson. Anderson was batting .304 with four home runs, 20 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 55 games for Charlotte.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson should see a considerable amount of playing time, at worst platooning with Tyler Saladino. He's worth taking a shot on in most leagues if you're thin in the middle infield. As for Rollins, he could still latch on with another team and have use in single-universe leagues.

White Sox | Tyler Saladino sitting vs. Nats

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 13:14:15 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tyler Saladino is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 8. SS Jimmy Rollins is starting at shortstop and batting sixth against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Saladino has started each of the past four games at the 6, and it appears he is poised to see the majority of starts at the position going forward. However, he offers limited fantasy value and should be left to cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues. Rollins is only relevant in similar deep setups, and he is a poor option in daily contests against Scherzer Wednesday.

White Sox | Avisail Garcia, Jimmy Rollins sitting

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 15:08:43 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia and SS Jimmy Rollins are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 7. OF J.B. Shuck is serving as the designated hitter and is batting seventh, while SS Tyler Saladino is starting at the 6 and is hitting ninth against Washington Nationals SP Joe Ross.

Fantasy Tip: Both Shuck and Saladino are low-end desperation picks in daily formats while hitting near the bottom of the order. Saladino has been starting more lately over Rollins but is limited offensively with a slash line of .256/.283/.395 and three home runs and 14 RBI.

White Sox | Tyler Saladino batting second vs. Tigers

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 12:50:50 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tyler Saladino is starting at shortstop and batting second against Detroit Tigers SP Jordan Zimmermann Friday, June 3, and White Sox SS Jimmy Rollins is batting seventh as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Saladino is making the most of his opportunities going 20-for-74 with 10 runs, three home runs and 13 RBI, and he receives a nice fantasy boost in daily contests batting second Friday. His lack of consistent playing time limits his value to cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues, though. Rollins has gone 23 games with a single multi-hit showing and sports a .195/.258/.280 slash line. He is a desperation start in all fantasy formats at this point.

White Sox | Jimmy Rollins on the bench

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 08:16:49 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Jimmy Rollins is not in the starting lineup against New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom Wednesday, June 1. SS Tyler Saladino will start at shortstop and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Saladino has recorded five hits, two home runs and five RBI over his last three games and should be a fine sleeper option for owners in daily fantasy leagues.

White Sox | Austin Jackson, Jimmy Rollins out

Tue, 31 May 2016 13:30:30 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Austin Jackson and SS Jimmy Rollins are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 31. SS Tyler Saladino is starting at shortstop and is hitting seventh against New York Mets SP Steven Matz.

Fantasy Tip: A-Jax is out with no DH in the National League park. Saladino isn't much to look at with the bat and is hitting .269 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 24 games for the Pale Hose. He's a desperation flier in daily leagues tonight against a strong young pitcher.

White Sox | Dioner Navarro catching Sunday

Sun, 29 May 2016 07:46:21 -0700

Chicago White Sox C Dioner Navarro will bat seventh and start behind the plate against SP Sunday, May 29. In addition, SS Jimmy Rollins will miss his second consecutive game, with INF Tyler Saladino batting ninth and playing shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Saladino is batting .346 (9-for-26) on the road this season and is 13-for-38 (.342) this month, so he should be viewed as a productive source of cap relief in DFS. Navarro is hitting .269 this month following a slow start at the plate this year and is a viable catching option for daily players looking to save money.

White Sox | Jimmy Rollins sitting out

Sat, 28 May 2016 07:42:04 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Jimmy Rollins is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura Saturday, May 28. SS Tyler Saladino will start at shortstop and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Saladino has gone 2-for-10 over the last seven days and is not strong fantasy option in any league.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera in two-hole

Thu, 26 May 2016 14:44:05 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera is hitting second against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy Thursday, May 26. As a result, SS Jimmy Rollins moves down to seventh in the lineup against a left-hander.

Fantasy Tip: The Melk Man continues to put the ball in play often for a high average (.294). However, he has no home runs against left-handers from the right side and has less power in that setup. He's still not a bad option for your lineups, but temper expectations tonight. Rollins is a very low-end shortstop option in daily formats against the southpaw.
