Yankees | Carlos Beltran out with no DH

Tue, 17 May 2016 16:24:08 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran is not in the starting lineup in a National League park Tuesday, May 17. OF Aaron Hicks is starting in right field and is batting eighth against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Zack Greinke.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks, a switch-hitter, is barely over the Mendoza Line this year (.206) and has two home runs and eight RBI in his 68 at-bats. He's really only an option in AL-only leagues for depth, and he makes for a player to avoid at a cheap cost in daily formats against Greinke.

Yankees | Carlos Beltran hits 400th home run

Sun, 15 May 2016 15:37:09 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran hit his 400th career home run Sunday, May 15, in a 7-5 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Fantasy Tip: It is a fitting honor for Beltran, a veteran outfielder nearing the end of his career. He already has eight home runs this season and is on pace to surpass the 19 hit a year ago. Beltran's .246/.279/.485 line proves he is still capable of doing damage in your fantasy lineup.

Yankees | Carlos Beltran launches two HRs

Mon, 09 May 2016 23:47:36 -0700

New York Yankees DH Carlos Beltran went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs Monday, May 9, against the Kansas City Royals.

Fantasy Tip: Beltran has driven in four runs over his past three games, but he hasn't had back-to-back multi-hit games since June 22-23 last season. He is still a good AL-only fantasy option, and he is worth using in deeper mixed formats and as a mid-tier DFS play.

Yankees | Aaron Hicks enters lineup

Wed, 04 May 2016 14:29:15 -0700

New York Yankees OF Aaron Hicks is starting in right field and batting seventh against Baltimore Orioles SP Tyler Wilson Wednesday, May 4. OF Carlos Beltran is serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks figures to benefit the most with more playing time with Alex Rodriguez (hamstring) on the DL with Beltran likely to serve as the main DH. Dustin Ackley could see more at-bats, too. Hicks is more known for his defense and has only two hits in 26 at-bats (.077) this year. Hicks and Ackley see a boost in fantasy value in the short term but are more of AL-only commodities for depth.

Sun, 01 May 2016 15:56:37 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran is not in the lineup Sunday, May 1, against the Boston Red Sox. OF Aaron Hicks is batting seventh against Red Sox SP David Price.

Fantasy Tip: Beltran has a .250 batting average for his career against Price, so this appears to be just a normal night off for the veteran. Hicks has a .308 average against Price, but he also struck out six times in 13 at-bats so be a little wary.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez will not play

Mon, 25 Apr 2016 13:59:28 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez (oblique) is not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers SP Cesar Ramos Monday, April 25. OF Carlos Beltran will serve as the designated hitter, while 2B Dustin Ackley will start in right field and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see how long Rodriguez will be out of the lineup. Ackley has gone 1-for-9 in his limited playing time this season, so owners should be able to find better options in their lineups.

Yankees | NYY shuffles lineup vs. Mariners

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 07:03:46 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran is batting third, and DH Alex Rodriguez is batting sixth against Seattle Mariners SP Hisashi Iwakuma Sunday, April 17.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez has hit third for most of the season, but he is off to a 3-for-30 start, whereas Beltran is scorching hot. The outfielder has six runs, three home runs, seven RBI and a .351/.368/.649 slash line over 38 plate appearances to start the campaign. Beltran should be owned in all fantasy formats, whereas Rodriguez is a candidate to be benched until he heats up at the dish.
