Yankees | Carlos Beltran continues red-hot June

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 23:49:25 -0700

New York Yankees DH Carlos Beltran went 3-for-4 and scored twice on Monday, June 27, but it proved not to be enough as the Texas Rangers rallied late for a 9-6 victory.

Fantasy Tip: Beltran was average in April and pretty good in May, but he has been downright ridiculous in June, batting .358 with seven homers, 22 RBI and 15 runs scored. This month's surge has left 39-year-old with a .294 average, 19 home runs, 53 RBI and 44 runs scored - numbers good enough to make him a top-20 outfielder in fantasy.

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 13:21:10 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers SP Chi Chi Rodriguez Monday, June 27. OF Carlos Beltran will serve as the designated hitter, while OF Aaron Hicks will start in right field and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks has been more productive in June and has at least one hit in six of his last 10 games. He is still hitting .219 on the season, and owners should have more attractive options available in their leagues.

Yankees | Carlos Beltran back in the lineup

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 13:38:33 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran (knee) is starting in right field and batting third against Minnesota Twins SP Kyle Gibson Thursday, June 16.

Fantasy Tip: After missing substantial time in each of the past two seasons, it is best to expect some minor and nagging injuries to limit Beltran's fantasy upside, especially as a 39-year-old veteran. However, he sits with 35 runs, 16 home runs, 44 RBI and a .277/.313/.554 slash line to date and should be owned in all fantasy formats.
