Twins | Torii Hunter back in lineup

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 15:05:54 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is back in the starting lineup Thursday, July 2, against the Kansas City Royals, and he'll hit second against RHP Chris Young.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) was 8-for-17 in four games, before being used as a pinch-hitter Wednesday. Hunter has four home runs in his last four starts, and he'll be a strong option Thursday with his .283 batting average against righties.

Twins | Torii Hunter takes a seat

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 08:00:05 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is out of the lineup Wednesday, July 1, with OF Eddie Rosario hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) presents one of the lesser challenges of three-hole hitters today as he had a .266-2-7 line in June. Sit him against Johnny Cueto today.

Twins | Torii Hunter homers twice

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 20:14:39 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter homered twice and doubled, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored in a 5-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has been struggling in June, and he entered Saturday's game hitting just .211 with one home run. Maybe the big game will start a hot streak, but wait until he strings together a few more solid performances before trusting him at FantasyScore.

Twins | Torii Hunter back in two-hole

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 15:52:41 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is hitting second against Milwaukee Brewers SP Kyle Lohse Friday, June 26.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) makes for a fine selection as a value pick Friday night on FantasyScore against Lohse, who has allowed 10 home runs and an 8.48 ERA at hitter-friendly Miller Park this season.

Twins | Torii Hunter not in the lineup

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 14:01:18 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks Friday, June 19. SS Eduardo Escobar will start in left field and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Escobar ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is hitting .220 this more and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Twins | Torii Hunter returns to lineup

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 13:00:25 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is playing left field and batting fifth against St. Louis Cardinals SP John Lackey Monday, June 15. Hunter missed the past two games while serving a two-game suspension for his outburst after being ejected from the game Wednesday, June 10.

Fantasy Tip: Over his last 22 games, Hunter ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has just two multi-hit games and a .241/.315/.349 slash line with nine runs, two home runs and 15 RBI. The RBI total is impressive, but at Hunter's cap hit, he leaves a lot to be desires in the upside department. Until he heats up, aim higher in FantasyScore contests.

Twins | Torii Hunter suspended two games

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 14:03:26 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter received a two-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for outburst after being ejected from the game Wednesday, June 10. Hunter is appealing the suspension, though, and he is starting in right field and batting second against Texas Rangers SP Wandy Rodriguez Friday, June 12.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has a respectable .271/.307/.457 slash line against southpaws this season, and batting second is a solid lineup spot to reward FantasyScore players. Still, he should be viewed as a lineup filler and not a lineup building block Friday. At his price point, there should be players available with more upside.

Twins | Torii Hunter ejected

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 22:09:09 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter and manager Paul Molitor were ejected Wednesday, June 10, against the Kansas City Royals. Hunter was given the gate for arguing balls and strikes.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter lasted three at-bats, striking out twice while walking once. He did very little to help FantasyScore players, and he is hitless over his past three at-bats. At $4,500 (or 9.0% of cap) he isnít a very good option until he starts to get back on track.

Twins | Torii Hunter back to cleanup spot

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 14:31:16 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is batting fourth and playing right field against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Wednesday, June 10.

Fantasy Tip: Even at 39, Hunter ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) continues to produce at the dish. He has 30 runs, eight home runs, 36 RBI and a .272/.327/.437 slash line. The upside is limited, but hitting behind the team's three best hitters projects favorably for his fantasy stock Wednesday, and Hunter is worth considering for FantasyScore contests. He is far from a lineup lock, though.

Twins | Eduardo Escobar will not start

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 09:30:09 -0700

Minnesota Twins SS Eduardo Escobar is not in the starting lineup Saturday, June 6. OF Torii Hunter will serve as the designated hitter and is batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Escobar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Hunter ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has at least one hit in 13 of his last 14 games and has 12 RBI during that span. Hunter could be a solid starting option for owners on FantasyScore.
