Cardinals | Carson Palmer behind in recovery

Tue, 30 Sep 2014 06:54:01 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) said the nerve in his shoulder hasn't progressed as much as he'd hoped, but he thinks he could prove capable of starting.

Fantasy Tip: Palmer ($7,100; 14.2% of your cap) is reasonably priced on FantasyScore this week if he's healthy. However, rushing him back to play in the thin air in Denver may not happen.

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 16:51:06 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton is in line to start his second straight game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 with QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) sidelined. "It hasn't changed today," head coach Bruce Arians said. "We'll be status quo with Drew as the starter, Logan as the backup and we'll still be waiting on Carson."

Fantasy Tip: There is no timetable for Palmer to return as the starter, so you can forget about him at FantasyScore. Stanton isn't a smart option, either, even at $4,200 (8.4% of cap).

Fantasy Tip: Palmer still hasn't been ruled out for the team's Week 3 game, but it sounds like his shoulder would have to improve significantly for him to have a shot at playing. Unless there is some positive news in the next couple of days, Palmer should be avoided in FantasyScore in Week 3.

Cardinals | Carson Palmer undecided for Week 3

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 15:52:28 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) continues to seek treatment for a nerve injury in his right shoulder Monday, Sept. 15, and head coach Bruce Arians is concerned that Palmer's injury could lead to long-term damage. Palmer's status for Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers is undecided. Arians said Palmer could suit up against the Niners even if he doesn't practice all week.

Fantasy Tip: Drew Stanton will start again if Palmer can't go against San Fran. At less than 100 percent against the Niners, we wouldn't recommend paying for Palmer at FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Carson Palmer wasn't close to playing

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 10:35:41 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) said he wasn't close to playing in Week 2 against the New York Giants. He described his injury as a nerve in his right shoulder that is in deep sleep. Palmer suffered the injury in Week 1 when he went down on a running play, and he's not sure when he'll be able to return. "They said my shoulder was stretched out and I landed on the nerve, shut the nerve down," Palmer said. "It's just one of those things you've just go to wait and hope it wakes up. There's no, 'it needs 48 hours. It needs six days, it needs 12 days. You just don't know." QB Drew Stanton went 14-for-29 for 167 yards in his absence.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Palmer will be questionable to play again in Week 3. Keep tabs on his practice status, but be fully prepared to be without him again.

Cardinals | Andre Ellington active today

Sun, 14 Sep 2014 09:16:36 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (foot) is active Sunday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: It's unknown if he will be limited, though. With QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) out, it's possible that Ellington and Jonathan Dwyer could receive more carries. Ellington is a solid RB2 at $5,500 (11% of your cap) on FantasyScore this week. Dwyer is more of a speculative flex play at $4,400 (8.8%) in Week 2, but he receives a boost in fantasy with Palmer out.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) is officially inactive Sunday, Sept. 14 for Week 2. QB Drew Stanton will start at quarterback.

Cardinals | Sold on Carson Palmer

Fri, 21 Feb 2014 09:06:00 -0800

"He's got plenty of juice left in the tank and he's in great condition and he's always been in great condition, so I would think he can play up to 36, 37."

Fantasy Tip: Palmer may have another year left in him of being a borderline low-end QB1 in the right matchups. He's probably best used as a solid backup QB. A solid offensive line in Arizona is the key, though.

Fri, 20 Dec 2013 13:51:01 -0800

Palmer is recovering from a low-grade, high left ankle sprain and has been limited in practice all week. "Like you think it would be with an ankle sprain," Arians said. "He's OK. He's good enough to play. He can move around the pocket as well as he did last week."
