Bills | Buffalo hasn't discussed Anquan Boldin

Tue, 03 Oct 2017 12:04:42 -0700

Retired WR Anquan Boldin hasn't yet been discussed as a potential replacement by general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin retired in August after two weeks with the team, and he hasn't yet been asked about his interest to retire. Even if the aging Boldin does come back it's uncertain what kind of game shape he is in and how comfortable he would be with the system. For now, Zay Jones and Andre Holmes remain the top two wide receivers with Jordan Matthews sidelined after thumb surgery.

Bills | Anquan Boldin retires

Sun, 20 Aug 2017 18:01:08 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Anquan Boldin announced Sunday, Aug. 20, that he has decided to retire from the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin's sudden retirement should solidify Zay Jones and Jordan Matthews as Buffalo's top receivers, but with Matthews dealing with an injury, Jones could be the biggest beneficiary. Buffalo's run-heavy offense makes both WR4 candidates, but Jones has the potential to become a flex play.

Bills | Anquan Boldin making team debut Thursday

Wed, 16 Aug 2017 20:28:03 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Anquan Boldin will make his team debut in the second preseason game Thursday, August 17, against the Philadelphia Eagles. He is expected to play a "good amount in the first half," as he wants to continue to nail down the timing in the passing game with QB Tyrod Taylor.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin proved last year in Detroit that he still has some usefulness left at age 36, and while Jordan Matthews is sidelined, he figures to attract plenty of targets. However, with Matthews expected back by Week 1, the ceiling probably won't be that high for the 14-year veteran, and as a result, it'll be hard to trust him as a WR3 in standard formats.

Bills | Anquan Boldin works in slot

Tue, 08 Aug 2017 17:06:45 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Anquan Boldin lined up as the slot receiver with the first-team offense during practice Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin has a chance to be the No. 2 receiver for the Bills this season but may see most of his time in the slot. He should have a solid role in the passing game and can be a No. 5 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Bills | Anquan Boldin headed to Bills

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) will agree to a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills Monday, Aug. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin saw a ton of red zone targets last season, and he'll be of use in PPR as a WR4 or WR5.

Bills | Anquan Boldin to visit Monday

Fri, 21 Jul 2017 11:17:46 -0700

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) is scheduled to meet with the Buffalo Bills on Monday, July 24.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin said earlier in the offseason he intends to sign right before training camp and hopes to do so with a contender, although the Bills really don't meet that qualification at the moment. The 36-year-old would provide a solid veteran presence and give the team a dependable pair of hands behind rookie Zay Jones and the oft-injured Sammy Watkins.

NFL | Anquan Boldin talking with teams

Mon, 17 Jul 2017 15:08:31 -0700

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) said he has talked with several teams about the possibility of signing and is scheduled to meet with an undisclosed team Sunday, July 23.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin should find a new team during the early part of training camp and can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver for a team. His fantasy value likely will depend on his team, but he could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Bills | Anquan Boldin a fit in Buffalo?

Sun, 09 Jul 2017 17:56:01 -0700

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) is going to be signed, in the opinion of Brian Baldinger of the NFL Network, and Baldinger believes the Buffalo Bills are the best fit for Boldin.

Fantasy Tip: The Bills could use another proven option in the passing attack, but Boldin has said he would prefer to play closer to his home state of Florida. The veteran is at least worth a flier as a WR5 wherever he signs, but his value would receive a boost if he lands with a receiver-needy team like the Bills.

Ravens | BAL unlikely looking at Anquan Boldin

Fri, 23 Jun 2017 13:23:19 -0700

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) probably is not an option for the Baltimore Ravens at this point because the team is content with the receivers they have on the roster, in the opinion of the Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin probably will not sign with a team until training camp, so owners should keep an eye on his situation. He is coming off a successful 2016 season and can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver for an NFL team. Owners in fantasy leagues could consider him a No. 5 receiver depending on his team.
