Dolphins | Miami passed on Andre Johnson

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 22:54:14 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Andre Johnson said he considered playing for his hometown Miami Dolphins when he was a free agent, but the team never called him. "I always had a dream of playing at home. I was a huge Dolphins fan. But they never called," Johnson said Tuesday, July 7.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson has averaged six receptions per game throughout his career, best in NFL history, and his 85 receiving yards per game is second-best in league history. He still has plenty left in the tank and he'll be a solid FantasyScore option paired with QB Andrew Luck.

Colts | Andre Johnson loving Andrew Luck

Sun, 31 May 2015 20:40:33 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Andre Johnson said he has regained his passion for the game because of the opportunity to play with QB Andrew Luck, and he called Luck "smart as hell."

Fantasy Tip: Johnson was able to manage useful totals the last few years in Houston despite below average quarterback play. Now that Luck will be throwing him the ball, Johnson should be a solid WR2 in 2015.

Colts | Andre Johnson to have big role for Colts?

Sat, 23 May 2015 12:15:47 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Andre Johnson will play a significant part in the Colts' offense this season, according to ESPN.com's Mike Wells.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson will be the unquestioned No. 2 receiver behind T.Y. Hilton and should plenty of opportunities to rebound from a disappointing 2014 campaign with the Houston Texans. If he can stay on the field, he's a viable WR2 candidate, especially with Andrew Luck now throwing to him.

Colts | Andre Johnson comfortable in offense

Thu, 21 May 2015 05:52:02 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Andre Johnson has made a "pretty seamless" transition to the offense, and he has a strong grasp of the playbook, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Johnson took snaps with the starters during organized team activities Wednesday, May 20.

Fantasy Tip: While Johnson is joining a crowded receiving corps, he still projects to have a significant role in the offense. Entering his 13th season, Johnson's production is on the decline, but catching passes from Andrew Luck won't hurt his stat line. At best, Johnson is a low-end No. 2 wide receiver in all formats. Still, there are no guarantees he is a starting fixture all season, and the touchdown totals haven't been helpful -- 12 scores over the past three seasons. All said, Johnson looks a lot better as your third receiver than your second, and he likely isn't worth reaching for entering his age-34 season.

Texans | DeAndre Hopkins one of the best?

Sat, 09 May 2015 18:56:05 -0700

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins was called on the best receivers in the league by head coach Bill O'Brien, and the Texans were willing to part ways with WR Andre Johnson in part because the coaching staff believes Hopkins is ready to be the No. 1 option in the passing game.

Fantasy Tip: Hopkins had a career year in 2014 despite a revolving door at the quarterback position, and as the unquestioned top target in 2015, he should at least be a solid WR2.

Colts | Andre Johnson joining teammates

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 21:17:10 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Andre Johnson said he plans on participating in an offseason program that begins Monday, April 20. "I'm excited about it," Johnson said. "I'll actually be heading to Indy tomorrow. I'm excited about the opportunity. Can't wait to get it going. It'll be different, but at the same time, still football. I'll go in, just learn what I need to learn, learn my new teammates and try to fit in and help win games."

Fantasy Tip: Johnson finds himself in a more pass-friendly offense with a much better quarterback throwing him the ball this season, and if he stays healthy, he should be a solid WR2.

Colts | Andre Johnson praised by HC

Tue, 31 Mar 2015 11:17:59 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Andre Johnson still has what it takes to be a successful wide receiver in the NFL, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. "He's a big body guy that can still separate," Pagano said. "He's got a big catch radius… It's very difficult to match up [against him]."

Fantasy Tip: T.Y. Hilton will still be the wide receiver to really target in 2015 fantasy drafts, but Johnson should still be able to provide low-end WR2 numbers and possibly better in point-per-reception leagues. The key for Johnson will be staying healthy.

Colts | Pagano not worried about Andre Johnson

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 14:27:18 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Andre Johnson has a backer in head coach Chuck Pagano, and Pagano is not concerned with Johnson's age. "Watched him on tape, everybody watched him on tape when we knew there was maybe a chance he'd come available. Saw a dominant guy, we know what he went through last season, the circumstances he went through, but he's a force to be reckoned with. You need to do everything you can to make sure he doesn't wreck the game," Pagano said.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson could easily surprise in PPR formats in 2015 now that he finally has a legitimate quarterback throwing him passes. Other owners may be skeptical of Johnson at his age, meaning he could come at a nice discount and serve as a solid No. 2 wideout.

Colts | Andre Johnson in good situation

Mon, 16 Mar 2015 06:39:46 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Andre Johnson will catch 90 passes in 2015, in the opinion of SI.com's Peter King.

Fantasy Tip: A 90-1,000-6 season would make him a WR2, at best, and he likely won't cost that on draft day. Johnson appears set for a promising 2015 campaign in an offense that has one of the best young QBs in the game at the helm.
