Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten has not missed a start since the 2006 season.
Fantasy Tip: Witten has been one of the better tight ends in the NFL for several seasons in part because he has stayed on the field. He should continue to have a solid role in the passing game this season and could be a No. 1 tight end in most leagues.

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten was one of three tight ends to be on the field for more than 1,000 snaps last year.
Fantasy Tip: Witten has had at least 64 catches and least 700 yards in every season dating back to 2004, and while he isn't an elite fantasy tight end anymore, he is still a safe bet to provide TE1 numbers.

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten said Sunday, May 17, that he and QB Tony Romo could play four or five more years if they continue to play like they did last season.
Fantasy Tip: Witten is no longer an elite fantasy tight end, but he still finished in the top 10 in catches and receiving yards at the position last season. He should be considered a low-end TE1 heading into 2015.

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten was added to the 2015 Pro Bowl roster as a replacement for Denver Broncos TE Julius Thomas (ankle).

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (knee) is participating in practice Wednesday, Dec. 24.
Fantasy Tip: Witten injured his knee in the team's Week 16 game, but it does not appear like a serious injury. Witten is coming off a solid game with 90 receiving yards and one touchdown but has also been pretty quiet for most of the season. He will be facing a Washington Redskins defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends over the past month. Owners on FantasyScore should consider Witten a low-end No. 1 tight end in Week 17.

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray worked out with TE Jason Witten before the team's official offseason program, and he credits the veteran tight end with his increased stamina and durability. "It helped a lot, obviously with the stamina aspect just building a good armor for your body so you can take some hits and take the pounding of a long season," Murray said Friday, Oct. 24. "He's done it for a long time and he's someone who has had a lot of success in this league and he knows what to do to take care of your body in season and out of season, so it helped extremely a lot and I have to thank him and we're still working together."

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten is averaging around six targets, three catches and 39 yards per game through four outings this year. He is TE29 in non-PPR leagues.
Fantasy Tip: It's tough to drop someone like Jason Witten with his history. There are a slew of better options at this point in the season, however. He's not worth the risk of $5,700 on FantasyScore.
Fri, 03 Oct 2014 18:59:30 -0700
Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten needs 45 yards in Week 5 against the Houston Texans to hit 10,000 for his career, joining former Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez (15,127) and former Denver Broncos TE Shannon Sharpe (10,060) as the only tight ends in NFL history to hit the milestone.
Fantasy Tip: The Texans rank 15th in the NFL against the pass, allowing 237.5 passing yards per game with five touchdowns through four games. Witten should be in line for a decent day, and remains a Top 10 fantasy option at his position. At $5700 (or 15.4 percent of your salary cap) in FantasyScore, he is a strong option.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said TE Jason Witten will not lose playing time to TE Gavin Escobar in 2014. "Well, I don't know about that," Garrett said. "Witt's a great football player and has been for a long time, a Pro Bowler again last year. In my opinion, our opinion, the best tight end in football and has been for decades. Witt's certainly going to be a big part of what we do with our offensive football team. But that doesn't mean Gavin can't be more involved."

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten isn't ready to rule QB Tony Romo (back) out for Week 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles. "I wouldn't count him out until he's out," Witten said. "There's no question. That wouldn't surprise me, but I do think obviously this is different situation (it) seems like with the back and however that plays out. But you've got to prepare with Kyle (Orton) and go as if that's the case and then see how it plays out." Romo has not practiced so far this week.
Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys have stated that Romo probably won't need to practice in order to play in Week 17, but we think that's doubtful. You should already have planned to be without Romo this weekend. If he miraculously plays, deal with that decision later.

Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) did not participated in practice Friday, Sept. 27, and has been ruled out for the team's Week 4 game.

Fri, 23 Aug 2013 12:54:14 -0700
Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten said he hopes to be more involved in the red zone offense this season after only getting one target in the red zone last season. "Offensively we just haven't done a good enough job putting points on the board and I'm apart of that. Hopefully I'll get more touches and opportunities and that's something we worked on this offseason. I felt like in training camp we saw some results of that and I'm excited to see it carry over into the regular season," Witten said.
Fantasy Tip: Witten has been one of the most productive tight ends over the last few seasons and should still be a solid No. 1 fantasy tight end, but his value would increase if receives more targets in the red zone.

That's part of being a leader and a captain - is to help other guys play at a high level. There's no hard feelings from that standpoint."

"I've always felt like Tony was very involved in the process of the plays and our scheme, how we attacked," Witten said. "I think in any organization where you have an elite quarterback like that, you want him to feel comfortable. Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten has 97 receptions through Week 14, and he needs just six more receptions over the next two games to set the single-season NFL record for catches by a tight end. Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten had five catches for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Week 15 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten had a season-high 18 yards per catch in Week 13, and only one of his six catches went for less than 10 yards. The return of RB DeMarco Murray (foot) to the lineup enabled for more big plays in the passing game. "I think being able to run the ball and not being one dimensional, they're not bailing out of there and that's not something we got to really in the last four or five ballgames," Witten said. "That was big. Obviously I feel good about that."
Sun, 02 Dec 2012 22:20:01 -0800

"Is Jason Witten worth watching and coming to see? Maybe in the top five of all the players we've had, you can go to the person as well as the player. Certainly Miles Austin has proven that he can make exciting plays. He's been dealing with hamstring (injuries), but he can. Apart from that, we probably have Ė and I'm going to pull this one out of my head here Ė but we probably had at least 50 percent of our players that weren't on our roster two years ago on the field the other day. So stale would not be the word for it."

I knew there was going to be some opportunities to make some plays. I was glad to get back on track so to speak."

He has dropped six passes in the last two games.
Mon, 24 Sep 2012 05:52:37 -0700
Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said following Week 3 he is not concerned with the number of dropped passes TE Jason Witten has so far this season. Witten was targeted six times in the game but dropped multiple passes and finished with two catches for eight yards. "I think Witten's probably got the fewest drops of about anybody we've ever had around here, so I'm not (concerned)," Jones said. "We in no way are going to do anything rather than give Witten all the chances we can give him."
